I believe there’s nothing new under the sun. So grace should be given with that. Showing your inspirations / paying homage in your music can lead to finding a base for that music but that should be a starting point to fine tuning who you are as an artist. Its a tricky one
At some point, its natural to flow with the beat but its also ok to imitate a flow. They all progressed to unique Artists. All Goats sounded like someone, before they got their own sound.
It’s never been ok. After pac died it started, since it was pac people let it slide now we got clones everywhere. And another thing is that people talk about ghost writers but ignore certain rappers that straight up steal another rappers bar( looking at you odor fans). The whole game is messed up. If we went back to the old hip hop days your favorite artists probably ain’t going to be hot.
Biggie stole a WHOLE STYLE SWAG IMAGE SONG EVERYTHING FROM A DUDE FROM THE SOUTH!!!- GO LOOK THAT SHIT UP!!!- UNFORGIVABLE!!🤦♂️ EARTH SHATTERING!! BUT STILL BIG CAN RHYME N FLOW AS ONE OF THE BEST!! RIP BIG &. NO HATE- LOVE
@@hiphopbakery I just put the link to a random video that touches on this topic- IDK IF THIS IS THE EXACT VIDEO THAT I SAW BCUZ IT WAS MAD LONG AGO- BUT IF NOT- TYPE IN THE KEY WORDS & U WILL FIND IT- I KNOW WHAT I HAD SAID WAS CRAZY N IT DESERVES THAT “DROP THE LINK” TYPE RESPONSE lol BUT ITS TRUE… ALLEGEDLY-
We sound how we sound. It is true that some pay Homage to forerunners via imitation. If we emulate someone, it depends on the degree of likeness. Biting is most times... obvious. Vibes tell all. 🫡
if your voice sounds like another rapper u gotta make it your style so it can be your own
💯
Bronson is Ghostface son and we all know that Ghostface don't fucc with his sons.

💯It’s all about evolving from that starting point and finding your individual voice in the process. Balance is everything.
It's Never Okay, they can have the same voice tone but style, cadence and flow is not acceptable
like buckshot said, Hiphop can steal from everyone except for each other
Well said 💯
You were banned from making Hip Hop if you bite anyone back in the day.

He was inspired Whilst in the Village ❤
Inspired doesn't mean Copy!!!!! Be you be original
Another one is Your old droog and Nas. I actually thought is was nas slowed down a bit for a few days
He sounds exactly like him. Flow and voice.
Yea I thought it was Nas under another alias until I saw him 💯
Another Favorite of 'im. At times... an uncanny resemblance. 🫡
This wouldn't happen back in the day. Anybody remember Gorilla Black? Exactly. Theres a reason he didn't make it.

It’s all about growth and evolution. As long as they develop into something original, it’s just part of the journey.💯

Yep. And speaking of Slick Rick, Just-Ice completely bit La Di Da Di when he made "Latoya."
GHOST
PBC influenced new artistes!? I call BS! Him and others are Thugger's kids, and he is Wayne's son.
You cnt help that your voice sounds like someone elses but action definitely has his own sauce but u can definitely hear the shefs influence
I agree, I love both artists tbh🤷🏾♂️
Biting is biting though
No.
