Peaked in the 90s then went on a decline ever since. Don't kid yourself 😂
Answer - Never!
Speak for yourself, that’s the GOAT
If you have to ask you don't know Real Hip Hop? What is the difference between a rapper and a MC only a MC can get on any track and show give 16 Bars
Sampling is soul food to hip hop making some out of nothing have very little to work with some how feed a family
every time one of these videos drop it’s always “them type of producers” (y’all know what i’m talking about) making horrible takes that don’t respect the history or understand what the culture of hip hop and sampling
Kanye is the King of Sampling Not J Dilla even tho he got his own shii too. Dr. Dre is also King of Sampling beats are krazy af and sample also plays heavy symbolism to what messages they are tryna put out there. No hate no bap
If you can sample the world is your oyster
Wow the most boring narrator. And the beat in the background sucks
I just dropped a beat in bandlab now I'm noticing people trying to resample my melodies
I don't like sampling
MADLIB J DILLA EQUALS DONS,
For me anyway.
Sampling will forever be the heart of hip hop
word!
Uncle al has a fire ass album out right now
I wanna know how u make a sampling video and there is no mention of Marley Marl the father of this hip hop sampling. All those producers the came after him were inspired by him from Dr.Dre, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Rza, Havoc, Erick Sermon, The Bomb squad and damn near everyone else. And sampling laws have been charging rappers for years. De La Soul didn't make any money on there first album due to being sued because of sampling. And that was in 1989.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏾💯
Of course it is. If it's a beat and not sampled, it's not really hip hop. It might be played live and still be hip hop, but that's a different question.
Yeah of course
Excellent video. Ignore anyone who says otherwise😊
Appreciate that fam, please stay tuned 🙏🏾💯
@hiphopbakery oh yeah definitely just subbed
Good video
Thanks for watching💯
Dude literally calling every Producer that made me start this Shit, Dilla & Madlib❤
Greed has definitely made it more risky now. Just have to get more creative with hiding shit
SAMPLING WILL ALWAYS BE HIP HOP 💯
💯
Not a crime until you get caught. Can probably still find samples, even loops off of records and be unnoticed. Some records from the world that maybe were not successful Internationally can be used without the original label catching it.
Sampling will never die !!
If you’re making $ from music & not clearing samples then you’re just asking to be sued. Services like Tracklib & others allow you to clear samples BEFORE you release your song so stop crying that sample clearance is hard. If not then get a musician to create compositions for you. Some of these loop packs are getting better at sounding like real 70’s vibes and you don’t have to hassle with clearing it like a record. If there’s no to little profits then sample any & everything under the sun😂
Great point, Tracklib is a solid resource 💯
Tracklib's wack
At this point, majority of rap, i don't even consider this crap on the radio Hip-Hop, is loop based. These kids are buying loop packs and just throwing some basic drums over them and calling it a day. Mainly for lack of musical ability to actually play any instruments. Not all of modern rap producers, but a huge majority. Take away the piano roll on Fruity Loops and 90% of todays rap beats would not exist as these cats LIVE on that piano roll. That def is not the same as chopping and rearranging a sample as that takes a lot more skill and musical ability... It is what it is at this point i guess.
Sampling will never die, as quiet as it kept some of the hardest producers are sample based
Sampling has its roots in the Stone Age, when we started building instruments to imitate the sounds of nature. The bone flute that sounded like a bird whistle, the leather drum that resembled the stomping of the mammoth. Taking a sound from our surroundings and turning it into music is deeply in our DNA, and sampling is just another modern expression of this ancient cultural technique.
Its definitely dying because of the ridiculous lawsuits now people want to use loop packs or create there own or ai and the music of 60s-70s-80s will eventually die
It's not dying at all. Quite the contrary, it's become bigger than ever before, hence services like Splice and the ever increasing proliferation of sample packs.
@@dugnice yeah I'm talking about original sampling
...you are just re-telling a story that's been told 1000 times with clips that you sampled from RUclips. LORD FINESSE SUED MAC MILLER FOR SAMPLING/USING HIS BEAT!!!
A producer can't use samples, but AI can steal the style from tons of artists...
There's no limits
sampling is a beautiful art, but with the copyright laws currently in place, its dying in popularity and continues to be written off as "plagiarism"
It's not dying at all. Quite the contrary, it's become bigger than ever before, hence services like Splice and the ever increasing proliferation of sample packs. It seems some people don't consider it sampling if you ain't recording from an actual vinyl record. 🤔🤷🏻♂️
power to true hip hop media ✊🏿

If you want to talk about who brought the soul loops into rap that would be The Rza Ye just copied what The Rza was doing before 1993 rap was made up of jazz and funk samples
Nah RZA brought funk, 9th Wonder brought soul.
@@AO-pn2uoI don't know how old are you but you have no idea what your talking about 9TH Wonder brought in the soul music 😂😂😂thanks for the good laugh kid 😂😂😂
THEY'RE COMING FOR US
Sampling is still the base level of Hip Hop music production. It's how most producers who aren't trained musicians start.
I am a trained musician and it's still a go to- it's a whole different art
@@skaterocker666Same here. My favorite is working within the limits of SP 1200.
@@skaterocker666 FACTS

If you a trained musician plus a sampler that wilk make a deadly combo.
How about we just cook, pay homage properly, and make good music?
@@nauyv YES! That part !!!!!
EXACTLY !!!!
Well said💯
“sampling” is NOT the heart of hip hop! The black American story n struggle is ! Period !
not just black American story and struggle anymore, Its world wide now and of course the original is from ..., the culture of expressing what needs to be spoken, or from what we see; its freedom culture. We see Hiphop exists not just in U.S, but across the ocean.
@@khoivinh3402 I SAID ITS THE “HEART AND SOUL” !! Period it’s NOT up for debate it’s what it was born from and at ITS CORE ITS BLACK AMERICAN CULTURE. And WITHOUT BLACK AMERICA you’d have none of what so many Non Black Americans love to include themselves in so much. See how you completely disregarded my comment to talk your all inclusive run about ? Yes, we affect everyone and everything but RECOGNIZE and SAY and ADMIT ITS ORGINS.
@@walterharris7421💯👍🏿
@@walterharris7421people been rhyming on beats in Southeast Asia for thousands of years. They don’t call it hiphop. What else is considered hip-hop culture to you? Tattooing? Well tattoos made popular my US soldiers who stationed in Asia/Pacific. Tattoos are thousands of years old over there. What else is hip-hop to you? Music is part of humanity point blank. It’s in the DNA to make sound.
@@Handle_Edit who are you ? Mr Fantastic? Keep acting like I’m speaking nonsense. Are you Black American?
I noticed when I make beats ..people jus be like yea..like it was nothing

Sampling to hip hop is the electric guitar to blues/rock and roll
Wow, well put bro💯
I like this.🫡
Blues predates the electric guitar, Most traditional blues is acoustic guitars
@@wellfedstarvingartistMost traditional Hip Hop is DJs cutting and scratching records.
@@wellfedstarvingartist💯
Why do all hip hop channels sound like this lmao great video though SUBBED
Appreciate the sub💯🙏🏾
good jawn
Appreciate you watching🙏🏾💯
The funny thing about Blurred Lines is that when I first heard it, I didn't know who sang it or produced it. I just knew that they copied the vibe of Gotta Give It Up. Then I forgot about it until the lawsuit. Once I heard the song again, I knew Pharrell and Robin would somehow take an L. Kind of sucks because so many songs have similar or even the same bassline. Keep Rising To The Top and All Night Long regarding similarities and Act Like You Know/Help Is On The Way regarding the same.
my favorite new producers for sampling are slauson malone, jpegmafia, flyingl lotus, cash cobain, and klein
Flying Lotus🙌🏾💯
DESPITE THE CONCERN FOR BEING SUED FOR TAKING PIECES AND BITS OF A GROOVE. CAT'S ARE CONTINUALLY DIGGING FOR "THEE RECORD" OR "THAT SOUND" SOURCE. THERE'S PLASTIC OUT THERE YET TO BE DISCOVERED, THAT'S WHAT KEEPS ME GOING IN ON VINYL. I THINK IT HAS BEEN MOSTLY THE UNDERGROUND AND DOPE DJ'S THAT WANT THAT GROOVE TO SPIN. AND THAT "NEXT SHIT" TO BRAG ABOUT.
IT'S CAT'S LIKE THEY'VE MENTIONED IN THIS MINI DOC THAT KEPT IT GOING THIS LONG!!!!!!! AND OTHERS ON THE HORIZON ARE TOO. THERE'S TOO MANY UNDER THE RADAR HEDZ TO MENTION.....SALUTE AND RESPECT TO ALL OF EM'!!!!!!!!!!!!
💯
Common is a MC not a rapper
Sampling will always be part of creating music, especially with all tools we have in the modern era to turn them into something completely different and unique. But as people mature musically, they want their publishing and that’s also a big factor in making original compositions.
