@@kyreff4888 True, but it is the usual lingua franca on the internet. Not excusing it, but it makes sense that english speakers do this more often since they don't usually have to engage with other languages. As someone who is interested in linguistics it usually annoys me too when someone completely butchers a pronunciation. I just wanted to play devils advocate for Barby & pals since they put lots of effort into all of this. But I agree, they should probably fact check a little more.
Fun fact about Montenegro: In 1905 when Russia declared war on Japan, Montenegro bravely supported their traditional allies and sent a battalion to fight alongside Russian forces against Japan. When Russia and Japan declared peace treaty Montenegro was somehow left out, meaning that Montenegro was technically in war with Japan until 2006. when Japan formally recognized Montenegro as independent country.

I've been in Montenegro last year, very beautiful country, loved Kotor. They do drive like crazy though... There's no highways and some cars don't even had their licence plate on 😅
Than you haven`t seen ;ontenegro at all. They have also highway. You have to travel around, not to stay at begining. You have missed a lot of interesting things.

Thats how people of Montenegro feel now that they are in NATO. We hate NATO more then Bosnians hate Serbs and more then Serbs hate Croats. The goverment might be now in power but with its fall we will exit, even with war if we have to. Wen Croatia entered Yugoslavia they didnt like it from the very start. When they exited they cause a mess that ruined it for good. When we exit NATO it will be horribly amplified. My people dont forgive. My people dont bend their backs. @@boki4258 Montenegro is small but very diverse. From Muslim bosniaks, orthodox Montenegrins and Serbs. Albanians in Roman catholic (such as myself) orthodox or Muslim faith. While also having Romani people. Montenegro is surprisingly diverse with many towns having orthodox and Roman churches and mosques. I recommend to visit if you can the weather and landscapes are beautiful.

True, was taking a stop in Kotor and Bar during my south European trip just because Dubrovnik and Belgrade is not connected directly by train. Turns out the most memorable location in my life. Nice scenery, nice weather, nice people.

As a Hungarian, I'd like to visit Montenegro someday. It has a nice flag, it looks good on the map, and it's name sounds like either a magic password, or the name of a misterious adventurer.

People get confused about it. different prononciation in different languages. i was watching a handball match the other day, spanish comentary, and the guy pronounced the romanian name Florica as Floricha, although it's actually pronounced the same as in his own spanish language Florika. Unless you know these rules, or you research before, you have a chance to get it wrong.
