There is something special about Greece in my heart always. Something connects me to it and I don't know what it is. Lovely place you live at. I hope all is well with what is happening around the world.
Oh wow!! not sure how I found this vlog! My friend and I used to take UK tourists across to Meganisi for lunch from Nidri on Lefkas way back in the summer of 1979. We worked for a tour company and had 40 tourists every fortnight - they stayed right on the beach looking over at Skorpios island. In fact, the taverna owner gave me 2 goat bells on wood collar which I still have all these years later, hanging up in front of my eyes right now, in my sewing room !!! Everything was so undeveloped and wild then, I think that kind of feel of Greece is lost forever. I love Greece and the Greeks and was able to visit and stay on many of the islands before there were so many tourists. Best time to travel is when you are young and carefree ! thanks for the beautiful videos.
Wow!!! How fantastic! It must have been a very different place in 1979! Have you been back to Meganisi since? You must come to visit when the world opens! Such a fantastic story, thank you for sharing! :)
I lived in Thailand for 5 years, and now back in the UK I can't bare the silence of not having cicadas around, and crickets at night. One thing I did about coping with the heat indoors was 'go local.' I just used fans for cooling day and night, no aircon. It took a while but once you got used to it, you felt better in the mornings, and your skin was amazing.
The music in the end of the video killi me ...i love it , I live in London with Greek wife i love Greece so much every year i go twice to corfu with my spouse... don't forget visit corfu !!
Great video, since the first time I was in Greece (over 20 years ago!) I have dreamed to live there. Will be happening soon. Never been to the Ionian Islands but sure looks beautiful. Can’t wait to live my dream. Keep the videos coming Tina, part of the Greek dream is seeing the beautiful female Greek faces.
I have the same nostalgia of Greece when I would visit my relatives. The combination of hot summer pine needle smell and the sound of cicadas always takes me back to walking up Mt Likavitos in Athens behind yiayia's place.
Woww thank you so much for explaining the smell, Greece has it's own one and I couldn't figure out what it was, so a candle would be amazing🤩 beautiful Video!
I‘m half Greek, living in Germany. I would love to learn Greek and I’m looking for channels to help me with that. Did you ever consider e.g. vlogging in Greek and having English subtitles? That would be amazing!! Or do you channels like that? 💕

Hi! Would you consider doing a video on the cost of living there? Lodging/rent, restaurant prices, groceries, etc. I plan on coming to corfu this year but hadn't heard of this island before! It looks like a lovely place ☺️
@@exoticvibes8419 I'm sure I will probably eat some of the cheaper stuff but would also like to know prices of sit down restaurants, etc since we really like to dive into a country's culture and food when we visit!
I am from JESOLO and I usually spend one week in Lefkada every year, how funny you had a video on Jesolo and are from Meganissi, which I usually visit renting a small private boat at least 3/4 times every year. Is it any easy public way that link the two islands? Thanks for your channel, I really love your contents
oh my gosh! thats so weird! how funny! I love Jesolo! Yes you can take the car ferry from Nidri which costs 1.90 per person or 12.90 including a car. It takes you straight to spilia port :) Thank you so much for your kind words, hope to see you in meganisi soon!
What a blessing to be able to live in such a beautiful island. Would love to visit. If I do Island hopping from Corfu-Lefkada-Kefalonia-Zakynthos, would that be a great idea? Or is it too much. I have 1 month to spare. While in Cofu, would like to do day trip to Paxos and Antipaxos as well.
Hi Julie! Thank you for stopping by!! I am very very blessed, I am thankful every single day! Those islands are a lot, but a month is a good amount of time to see them all. I LOVE Paxos, I've often said to myself that it would be a great spot to open a second store. Antipaxos has some of the MOST incredible beaches too! I know Simpson Travel offer some pretty amazing villas to rent in all of the places you mentioned. I worked for them last year and they are pretty good. You know what would be really amazing- islanding hopping in a sail boat! I hope you come past Meganisi to visit! All the best :) T
After highschool, me and my bestfriend are going to live in greece for one year and work at a cafe. This video really got me more excited than I already am 😆
@@TinaBenias Your friend that you had lunch with. I think you put his name on screen or said his name so i was wondering because his name sounds similar to my name. So I wondered if my name had Greek origins and what it could mean?
@@TinaBenias Interesting! I don't think it has to do with my name then 'cause I am a girl and that's all masculine☺ Thank you so much for responding though I appreciate it.
If you can give me a Brika, I will marry you and live there with you. I need a house, 3 goats, 5 chickens, and maybe a donkey for transportation. I am a traditional Greek. All my cousins got dowries, but they were 5-10 years older than me at the time. Me? I got screwed, but there is still time.Joking aside, I love your video. I am just wondering, what is a Greek girl doing in Costa Rica now?
Thats a great question...well! Let me start by saying my Greek is terrible! As a child I went to Greek school in Australia so I know the alphabet and how to read (slowly) but like most things if you dont practice you lose it. My Dad didnt speak to us in Greek when we were little because he was focusing on learning english. I am also lazy because all my friends in Greece speak english! But the longer I am there the more I get back into it. I also listen to a lot of Greek music so I do understand a lot but fall down in the speaking area. :)
