Self-confessed lifelong middle-starter, here. 🙋♀️ Even just THINKING about starting anywhere else makes me break out in a nervous sweat. 😂 I guess I just don't like living on the edge. Thanks, Kat 👍 (but I'll probably just keep doing what I'm doing. 😉)
Oh goodness...breaking out in a nervous sweat is definitely to be avoided...keep with the middle start! Figuring out the corner start does get easier every time but it's still a bit scarier so I know it's not for everyone.
Although our stitching styles are different, I have learned so many tips & tricks from you! Thank you for a terrific channel!!! I appreciate all you do for the stitching community!
Aw, that's so lovely of you, thank you 😊 I really enjoy learning and sharing about cross stitch and it always delights me to know that others really do find it helpful.
Oh that makes a lot of sense! Top left would be my second choice after bottom right as the stitching direction still makes my stitches look neater. I just can't deal with starting top right or bottom left 😂
I've always been a center starter, but I'm actually considering a corner start for a new project. I'm definitely nervous though because it's a larger piece and I notoriously underestimate how much fabric I need. I guess I know which video I'm watching next. 😂 Thank you for the tip!
No matter how many times I do a corner start I'm still nervous! I do tend to allow a slightly bigger margin just in case...or sometimes I just don't cut the fabric until later on when I know where I am with it. Good luck! 🩷
I’m all over the place!!! Depends on what or rather how big the piece will be. Very large piece I’m working now, I’ve done a top right corner start so my hands won’t constantly be touching or resting on what I’ve already stitched. I’m a right hand stitcher
Yup, I'm definitely not 100% bottom right start; sometimes it just works better a different way! Working in a way so as not to touch your completed stitching is super smart; I think that's why I also like working from the right hand side as I hold my fabric on the left.
My Mum taught me to stitch but much of what i do now has been trying out different ways and discovering what I like best. It seems we both ended up picking the same favourite starting spot!
I’m a self taught cross stitcher who had been cross stitching for 40 years, and I’ve always been a corner stitcher. I don’t measure but count in to find my corner. I cut my fabric, say 16 ct. aida with a 4 inch border I would count in 64 squares up and down and set my needles accordingly. I also start in the bottom right, you’re the first fellow stitcher I’ve heard that starts in the corner and I worked in a framing and cross stitch supply shop. All of the stitchers that came in started in the middle. Thank you for pointing out there’s more than one way of doing things.
Hello fellow bottom right starter!! You have a great way to find your corner start too. One of my biggest aims with my videos is to show options for cross stitchers to pick and choose what works best for them so I'm delighted to hear that you think I'm achieving this, thank you😄

im a top left starter. just like reading a book, i am a librarian tho so that just makes sense to me :P
Ditto! Top left and librarian! Just makes so much sense! 🤩

That's so funny that you and @thislittlekittenstitches are both librarians and both start top left; I love it 😄
