I’m 100% thriller reader but I like it so much when a thriller has romance elements, would definitely check your list out! I also have a few thrillers I think would appeal to romance readers: The Choice by Alex Lake, The Other You by J.S. Monroe, The Perfect Lie by Jo Spain. These three books have romance as a part of the plot.
There were a lot of books I hadn’t heard of on this list!! I watch a lot of book tube videos and sometimes get tired of seeing the same things recommended so this was really cool!
I like this list bc although I love thrillers, I don't care for horror. Some of these I've read and a few were DNFs that I'm going to give another try. I'm such a moody/emotional reader -- if it's not hitting the right vibes at the mement I move on, but often pick it up later and end up enjoying. Finlay Donovan is one of my favorites. So glad you said it's a FUN read. Think that's sooooo important and we often overlook that reading is supposed to be fun.
In My Dreams I Hold A Knife has been on my TBR for SO LONG & I had no idea there was any sort of romantic subplot to it - especially a TRIANGLE?! Pushing it up on my list!
One of my favorite thriller authors is Natalie Barelli. "Until I met her" is a similar premise to Verity in the ghostwriting aspect, but is way better in my opinion. All of them are good though. The audiobook of "Missing Molly" was so good and creeped me out more than any other because of the voice! Oh my gosh I get shivers just remembering it.
I read primarily romance but here are some more thriller recommendations that I really enjoyed and focus heavily on a relationship: Something in the Water, Behind Closed Doors, the Golden Couple, and the Perfect Marriage.
Awesome video, thank you! The two main genres I read are romances and Thrillers and I've actually read quite a few from your video and loved them, now it makes sense why!!!
Gabby !! Please i want more recommendations like this one ... please please make a part two, this one was so helpful--i couldn't focus on a book for few months but after reading some of the book suggested here i feel relieved ^^
Such a great video! 👏🏻👏🏻 thanks for the recs! I actually have read a few of these and liked them, so that convinced me even more that your other recs I might like! You slapping Finlay and yelling “definitely” 😂😂
Have you done a video for thriller readers that want to try romance? I seem to remember something similar that you did. As a romance reader, here are some thrillers that I liked: The Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley, African Ice by Jeff Buick, The Last Flight by Julie Clark, Tell No One by Harlan Coben, Ashley Bell by Dean Koontz, The DI Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons, Suburban Dicks series by Fabian Nicieza.
Im a thriller reader that wants to read more romance but I love these recommendations! Read most of them and they were all so enjoyable to me (probably why I think I might actually enjoy romance!!). I hadn't heard of Just One Look though! That sounds right up my street!
I read a ton of thrillers, that is actually my primary genre like you. I would love to see the flip side of thriller recommendation for the avid reader. I know you also read a ton of romance novels too. So why not romance recs for someone who might want to get into romance? That might be really interesting too. I love your videos either way. Great job!
id recommend every last secret by a.r. torre. i found it on kindle unlimited last year and it was a major page turner imo (i know this book isn’t everyone’s cup of tea)
Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell was the first non YA Romance book i had EVER read. And I didn't see any of the twists coming even though now as a more consistent reader I probably would. But it was the book that got me into reading for the first time since high school so definitely recommend for new thriller peeps!
An Anonymous Girl SHOOK ME TO THE CORE! I've added so many books to my cart after watching your video since I'm getting back into my love for drama, mystery, romance, and psychological thriller books!
Having read (listened to) Verity, and hearing your review of The Wife Upstairs, I safely can suggest you (re?)read Jane Eyre, which also features a young woman [dog walker lol] without money getting involved with a rich man in an odd house.
I don't usually like romance but I loved this list! The Hunting Wives is so much fun!!!!!!! I want more books by this author! Also: I just read the Family Game and thought that might hit for people who like romantic vibes. And for a sad horror book with romance-type sadness: I'm Thinking of Ending Things and We Spread by Ian Reid. He makes me ugly cry, for real. Would love your list of Horror books for readers who enjoy romance :)
I tend to avoid domestic thriller because I dont like to read cheating trope. So I read more crime thriller/murder thriller. I’ve read some of your recommendation and I like some of it if the book dont have cheating trope.
I am so excited I got The Spite House today! I also got the haunting of Leigh Barker, Spells for Lost Things, and witches of Ash and Ruin. Have you read any of these?
@@gabbyreads Have you read any of Adele Parks books? I am reading Woman last seen so far it’s good! She also has another I bought called Lies Lies Lies. Look her up and those books see if they would interest you 😉
Do you think these would be good for thriller readers who don’t like to read romance but would only read romance if they were thrillery? I want it heavy on the thriller but with a lil smidge of romance! Would these work for that or are they more romance with a smidge of thriller? 😅❤️
I just finished The Maid and was unfortunately very disappointed by it. Gave it 2 stars. But I did start a different Liane Moriarty book, Apples Never Fall and so far I’m liking it. Never watched the show but Big Little Lies sounds good so maybe I’ll try that.
I am a romance reader and I find it hard to find thrillers with some romance in it…happy tonging this ! Will check them out . I enjoyed verity !!!
For anyone who might want to know, Bad Mommy is now called I Can Be a Better You.
Thank you for sharing! I was looking for Bad mommy and couldn’t find it anywhere.

Great recs! Been looking for thrillers to read for Valentines/February when I wanted a break from Romance itself. Great segue!
I like this list bc although I love thrillers, I don't care for horror. Some of these I've read and a few were DNFs that I'm going to give another try. Love this video. Big Little Lies was one of my favorite books from last year.
Oh I would love to see a seasoned thriller video with plot twists and turns…things I never saw coming!
I have to add that the series they made for ‘Behind Her Eyes’ is really well done!
Was it?! I hadn’t heard anything about it so I was reluctant to try. Maybe I’ll give it a shot. Although - the book creeped me out SO much

An Anonymous Girl SHOOK ME TO THE CORE! I've added so many books to my cart after watching your video since I'm getting back into my love for drama, mystery, romance, and psychological thriller books!
Maybe another vid you can do is the opposite of that: romance books for thriller readers who have given up on romance.
I bought Dial A for Aunties while watching this video 😂 fun idea for around Valentine's Day.
Having read (listened to) Verity, and hearing your review of The Wife Upstairs, I safely can suggest you (re?)read Jane Eyre, which also features a young woman [dog walker lol] without money getting involved with a rich man in an odd house.
this convinced me to add the maid to my tbr
That's such an entertaining book!
I believe An Anonymous Girl was their debut!!
