I would definitely read a sequel/prequel and anything else from this author. I really enjoyed the writing, I've been in a slump the last couple of months and read this completely with my eyeballs lol!

Wayyy too much unanswered for it to be 5 stars. It’s a 4/5 for me. Also agree with Ali though… that reveal in the last page or two was the one answer I wish they’d left open ended. Needed more Old House lore, needed more Heather, needed more Alison, needed more people vanishing in the woods, needed more explanation of Paige and the kids (feel like you’re all onto something regarding Jenny)…

Just finished the book. Like literally right now and I definitely agree with you on this. Too much unanswered questions.

I liked that it was very open and didn't give us answers. It put us exactly in the same position as the characters and made us feel as crazy as them. Also, it lets your mind go in so many directions and come up with some many things it could have been. Very creative way to get readers involved in the plot.

@@sheramelton3583 I like that perspective! And I’m glad I have questions. I wouldn’t have any if I didn’t care or feel invested. :-)

For Heather, I think we did get an explanation. In the documents it says that there are people "stuck" in the cycle that are hosts or guides to get people through without them getting hurt or stuck themselves. I think Heather was a guide.

the kid (the girl) knew from the starting that some weird stuff is going on, because in start of the book she called Eve as "Emma" and she was hiding in the basement in the same sliver that eve later finds on her own... maybe that was the reason she was always taking notes to know what reality she was in or which house she was in. and might i say too attached with the pen, maybe that was her anchor.

Scariest moment for me was the phone call in the motel 😨😨😨

Thomas giving Eve Charlie's locket in the final scene , means he is giving her an anchor and a passage to continue traveling to a different reality of the 'house' to find HER Charlie. And the passing ants signify that the passage is open.

    SPOILERS
So I think with Heather, she was Allison’s mom and her husband was the rock singer whose obituary is at the end. I think based on the one document she’s now a “guide” for the house. I think there were many similarities between Eve and Allison and that they may be the same person but who knows! Definitely an interesting read

5 star read for me. Apparently the author has signed for two more books which solidifies my 5star. Some things you don’t need to understand in my opinion and I felt duped the whole way which was just soooo good.
Thomas’ scar was different in the “old house” it was from his lip to his ear. So this Thomas is current and already been mauled by “Emma”.
The chapter that’s most important is the one from the “old house” it explains most things.
Thomas has always been the bad guy from the start of the book and it also says in the “old house” chapter not to stay there for more than a year. Plus 37 is mentioned more than once as is many other number combos. I need to read again NOT on a kindle.
I had theorised that Charlie was in fact Thomas’s sister just by their connection at the start. But I truly think what the reader takes from the book will change on a re-read because I missed so much. Heather has a bigger part in the story and I wonder if Thomas is actually her son. She at least has a child because she has toys for her grandchildren. It’s a lot and I bloody loved it!!!
On another note I want to apologise for a comment I left quite a while ago. It was nasty and unnecessary. Bit of projection on my part I think. Anyway, I need to now buy the physical copy ☺️

I was confused on the old man in the cabin, and him also being Thomas. But his scar matching the damage the "emma" did to him at the end of book makes so much sense.
I think the books is just as much a time travel book as it is alternate realities

I would rather have another book in the same universe than a sequal or a prequal I think. I loved that he adapted this from his Reddit short story on NoSleep! Such an excellent read 5 Stars from me!

I hated this book. It took me awhile to get into it and once I finished I was mad that I wasted my time. I should’ve DNF’d it. The ending was unsatisfactory and boring. Most of the events of the book didn’t even seem connected to the ending. Too many unanswered questions. 2/5 stars

What age range, what are their reading levels, and do they enjoy comics vs novels? I would suggest both but there are other factors that may make me lean towards one over the other.

I think I read a different book… 2 stars. I just found too much hype with no substance or resolution. But I think paranormal horror isn’t for me… I just don’t find it scary on the page. AND I read this to be scared, so…
