Met my wife in a Pub carpark ☹️ never again 😂 she was high mileage and high maintenance and still is Rob 😉. You got a great buy there guys and looks amazing for the mileage.
Rob the wee crease at the bottom of the 1/4 is on both sides and Ment to be there , I learnt that the hard way the first time I repaired one as I’m panel beater 🤣👍

Rob on camera, that interior looks new! It’s obviously a tribute to the geezer care that he’s taken of it, but also a tribute to Ford for durability. It’s no wonder they are legendary…

They have always been rot boxes - and with built in faults -I would NEVER have another ford after the MK3 escort battery tray fiasco - & clutch pedal ratchet they knew about it on the MK3 but still made them up till they ended them - thats taking the pi**s - heater plugs are a NIGHTMARE on them transits might as well take the engine out !!

Well done Rob and Captain Slow ! That Transit is definitely a Short Wheel Base as the side door runner goes all the way to the back door. The LWB has a gap at the end before the rear door.
The wheel refurbishment made a world of difference, but the valet was the icing on the cake. Enjoyable video, good turnaround. Nice one 👍😀
What an amazing transformation and that van will go on for a good few years yet. Doing the wheels was a master stroke and worth every penny.
Those key stone cop valeters are absolutely wonderful.

Despite having a high millage this vehicle has been used but it hasn't been abused,on the contrary,it's been looked after with full service history.Four and a half thousand pounds seems a reasonable price given it's condition.
I don't think 170k mileage is anything to worry about, its got full-service history and been very well looked after. I have seen these vans with 300k on them, still going strong! Great turnaround on the van guys, what a difference a wheel refurb and a good clean make.

your right rob it doesn't look like a 170k van it looks fresh and ready to work, shame the guy had to sell it as he seems to have taken really good care of it , a nice quick turn around and it helps keep the lights on! did chris get the change from the glove box? 😉 was it enough for a new pair of sun glasses😁 thanks guys 👍

Amazing content on the Ford Transit Custom guys. The van has changed so much with that wheel refurb and that full valet you had done. What a lovely quick turnaround Rob and Chris well guys keep it coming. The vans done almost 170000 you would never tell the difference the way the van looks and drives.

I loved that thumb nail Rob, I never watch that show but it made me laugh. I think it was worth doing the wheels it lifted the whole look of the van. The car wash guys did a great job once again and I think they deserve a mention even if it is not sponsored. Generally 170 k miles for a diesel engine is fine but I know these can have problems so I think your call is the right one Rob. I bought a Transit back in 1993 met the seller at Aust Services near the old Severn Bridge at night. It was the best van I ever bought until it got nicked 7 years later.

Boys ! In the good old days that would have got a "hair cut " ! Back in the day my good friend bought an immaculate Rover 2000 TC . He asked me if he could bring it to my shop and give it a "hair cut" . So he pops in and takes out the speedo ' . Carefully removing the back some one had written " Oh no ! Not again !!!! Makes me chuckle over 50 years later ! Thanks Guys .

Thank you Rob/Chris , yes I love videos like this very enjoyable ! The wheels refurb made a massive difference looks like a van with 30,000 miles on it ! The only give away is the wear on the drivers side mat and the panel by the rear doors but that's been picky ! It's in astonishing condition considering the mileage well done guys !

Great video Rob, That’s the way you want them, Quick and simple turn around and everyone is happy, I made a rule at the start of this year for the first time in 25 years in the motor trade, No more than 2 to 3 cars laying in the yard at any one time, and it’s working and turning more threw the workshop, Keep up the great videos👍🇮🇪

High mileage should not put you off. I run 3 vans. 14 plate Movano 436000 miles, 67 plate Master 268000 and 69 plate Master 131000. Serviced as per schedule plus mid service oil change. All running on matching michelin aglis tyres and all drive very sweet. Tend to buy my vans at 3 years old with about 100000 miles on them. My mate buys new vans that are never out of the workshop. Let someone else sort out the teething problems and then look after them and you cant go too far wrong. Last van i sold was a 10 plate sprinter that had clocked 590000 miles. I got rid only because the body work had become too scabby to take to customers houses. Still drove perfect and the Lithuanian guy that bought it said it was the best driving van he had ever driven.
I bought a transit 2016 earlier this year with 300k miles, it’s looks like new and drives the same, and Rob when them wheels was off you should have tfr the inner arches and power washed it off, they normally come up fantastic and make the van look so much better,
Nice Gents A Lovely quick buoyant upbeat vid - - Clean Van - I used to like turning the vans round as there easier to prep up an sell quick - I’m surprised it hasn’t already gone pop at that mileage though…….Credit due no doubt to the previous chap looking after it service wise with the correct oil…..👍

I've got a 2017 mk8 transit that's got 145,000 miles on it and it literally looks like it's done 40,000 inside and out. Had a recall for the timing belt last year too so that's been changed. I got a 2017 because of Ulez, had a Mk6 before that with around 170,000 on the clock. Keep up the good work guys 💪

vans do go on well when looked after, Got a 64 reg Iveco Daily with 354,000 miles on it. Still trucking along real nice!
Lovely condition for the mileage, you can see he's looked after it. You're right in what you're saying, I loved my old transits, but the new ones are such a lottery. I've enjoyed drivng the mk7, the mk8 and the custom, they're all a great place to be, but the last one I spent my own money on buying was an X-reg smiley.

Hi Rob and Chris nice looking van for not much effort that part of the trim you was talking about they come of easy I've got a 68 reg custom and mine came of the day I got brand new i just caught it and when I put fuel in its came of plus the arch strips just pop out from time to time I just bang them back in they are the same clips for that missing panel they could do with being a little tighter fit cheers guys
