Hmmm never thought about distinguishing old cards from new...I imagine easiest way to do that would be new color border? No more red, black or silver🤷♂️...interesting
they should really keep quiet until everything is ready and only use social media for updates and snippets. Community interaction is cool, but people online get entitled to it real fast and favoritism becomes apparent very quickly. Hype and teasers are bad for the long term. Until they have the big stuff announced it's just letting people's imaginations run wild. People watching let themselves down with unrealistic expectations that just leaves them frustrated. By the time the company says something meaningful it's lost in the background noise. Broad appeal is cool in theory, but something for everyone often ends up being something for no one. I'm worried Charlie really only listened to haters of the game and is making huge changes based mostly on the negative feedback of people who were never really involved. Keeping the name and same logo, but trashing the old game entirely is a bad marketing move. It's going to be a mess for new people that are buying sealed product. I think rule updates and using Legacy as a way to physically update cards with misprints and erratas would have been a better path forward. My base set Charizard has the same back as my Alt art Charizard VMAX even though TPC changed and updated the game after getting from WOTC.
@@NoahCloud_SumZer0 I definitely agree with people getting unrealistic expectations and all these small teasers making people antsy & going a little nuts with their imagination. You kinda build these thoughts in your head and if it’s not what you want, then you’ll be disappointed. I do like they’re not trying to over promise anything like the old regime, but the execution of some of their teasers so far I haven’t liked. The thought is there, but end result not as much. Gameplay wise, while I loved the game, there were a lot of confusions from players on certain rules & effects, but also it’s definitely detailed intensive. While I had a lot of fun the limited time playing, the learning process for traits, symbols, effects etc was definitely hard and not an easy game for someone with little to no tcg experience to understand. I’ve played yugioh and understand Pokemon, so I could use those references to help me learn faster. But I’d always forget to take into considerations trait symbols the first 3 hours of me playing. While that does become muscle memory and you remember over time, for new players it is a barrier of entry. For all the money they spent, I’m fine with them tweaking it and making it their own. Do I want to see a massively different game? Personally no. But I think in the end for the vast majority it will work out, even if I personally don’t like some of the choices because I’m more personally attached to the original MetaZoo. Only time will tell
Great video DPD!
