I don't believe Ford offers an AWD version on the non-Raptor, just rear and 4WD with auto-select (which is DEFINITELY not designed to be driven in this manner). Now the Raptor DOES have RWD/AWD/4WD as explained in this: ruclips.net/video/HeVUt7AdbLI/видео.html so it would probably work (and remain drivable) with more power being sent to all four wheels. Chevy does have a truly-AWD in some versions of the Silverado (Also the Silverado SS had AWD, meaning all wheels are driven 30/70 under normal circumstances). The NVG 149 Transfer Case is an example of this. So to answer your question: you'd want to keep it in 2WD unless you enjoy replacing very expensive drivetrain components.
Tim raptor is t awd it’s 2wd or 4wd awd is 4x4 all the time and no in between it’s the same for chevy or dodge. An Audi or bmw are awd ie 4 wheel drive all the time no option to switch like the trucks.
@@FishFind3000 @FishFind3000 The Raptor is both AWD and 4WD while offering a 2WD mode. (Seriously, watch the Engineering Explained video I linked). Being 'permanent' is not how you define AWD vs 4WD. Also, Chevy 100% offers an AWD (not 4WD, not permanent 4WD... a permanent AWD drivetrain) on the Silverado and it was the only option on the SS. Also AWD is not '4x4 all the time' hence the concept of Haldex and slip-and-grip AWD systems such as Audi's Quattro Ultra (vs Quattro Haldex and Quattro Torsen) systems, Also... literally any small SUV is not '4x4 all the time' (or 4WD ever...).

I wish Ford would put the Cop column shifters in F150's. The F150 shifter is weird and vague because it's linear, I've always liked how the cop shifters have obvious detents for each gear and you can just slap them down into drive instead of accidentally going into second gear or M mode and then having to fuck around with it. Manual mode should have a designated button in my opinion.
My dad has one of these trucks . Single cab with a Roush blower rated at the same hp , but it has 4x4. the launch in 4x4 is absolutely nuts. Dont think you mentioned if this one had 4x4 or not but pretty much looked like you were RWD the entire time .
The sleeper look is awesome, the sounds it makes are awesome, and it looks like the rear end has at least a 4-link rear suspension, and the truck is lowered at least 2" all-4 corners...
theres a 900 HP Tacoma on youtube. they pretty much did it up like a nascar truck and it looks insane. Also has an official TRD nascar race engine in it. I realize companies cant go to that extreme on a production vehicle, but it would be nice to see a few high end street performance trucks on the market
Idk what you mean by saying column shifters are getting rare. I change oil and every single truck I’ve pulled in, new and old, has had one. But there are a few cars I’ve seen that have a weird row of buttons to press to go into gear. But those are usually new SUV’s
You can build your own! Ford has a 650 hp FoMoCo super charger kit that is Ford warranty compatible. They also have numerous aftermarket suppliers that offer full builds.
I have a 2014 tremor with the same suspension set up like this truck Stock turbos still but have , intake, exhaust , tune , traction bars, 305/50R20 wheels, bov, and a hole list. It’s my daily and it does the same thing as that truck does here in this video. The only difference is the exhaust note. I have had a supercharged 5.0 and a zl1 camaro. But I have had more fun as a sleeper truck than being in the other vehicles over the years. I get it , it’s a truck but the thing is sooooo much more fun to drive because it’s different!!!
Should go visit the boys at Firepunk Diesel to see their shop and the diesel community of drag racing and street trucks they work on daily. Loved the newer Cummins review.
Here's my idea of my dream truck; a 2 wheel drive, 2 door, regular cab short-bed, with Raptor fenders, hood, front bumper, grille, and rear fenders, and a Mustang sourced six speed manual transmission.....
I have a RAM 1500 ST with a 5.7 Hemi and I've been thinking about throwing a supercharger kit under the hood. It is already cammed and tuned, I'd love to have another 200+ HP on top of the 450 its putting to the wheels now.
When this covid stuff is over me and a buddy are going to move to Tennessee, buy a 2020 crewcab with the 5.0 and the 10 speed auto, rwd, we're going to boost it, lower it and put a drag pack on it. It's gonna be sweet
Forget the year, early 80s anyhow but I went for a high speed run in a prototype Ford pickup truck and I said to the driver this has a reasonable simulation of speed and the driver said this is the new concept Lightning prototype and his name was Jack Roush.
Welp I now want a v10 viper srt, c7 zr1 755 hp, and now this thunderbolt is a must truck and still be able to pull the other two around when I want to travel
I've seen a 4WD version, lowered 4" in the back, 2" in the front with some suspension upgrades, wheels (nothing crazy or that looks out of place/far from stock) & tires that aren't as semi-sloppy in steering & launching.
Mmm. Also, column shifter isn't muscle memory. The police console with the radio and lighting controller and soforth is just in the way and often replaces the civilian console where the shifter would normally live.
I really don't know why they don't make more sport trucks, the market for trucks and SUVS is there, we have the off road versions, just need the 2wd versions. I'd love to see a 2 door raptor 2wd with the fenders, but change the bumpers to more of a street bumper and take the side steps off, bam.

Those kits make 650 flywheel horsepower they don't make 650 rear wheel horsepower like this one does.
I have a 2014 tremor with the same suspension set up like this truck
Stock turbos still but have , intake, exhaust , tune , traction bars, 305/50R20 wheels, bov, and a hole list.
That intro pull when to torque convertor locked going into third was nuts!
What's the exhuast setup? Long tubes? OR mid? Resonator...muffler...? Like the side exit sounds proper 👍🏻
I was watching your videos on the lightning and the Harley and then you post this i think thats a sign
Saleen, Shelby and Roush make supercharged F-150s today. So the soul of the Lightning lives on in those in my opinion.
Should go visit the boys at Firepunk Diesel to see their shop and the diesel community of drag racing and street trucks they work on daily. Loved the newer Cummins review.
Our family car is a 2020 Roush Nitemare supercrew same 650hp 600 lbs/ft of torque.
If you find yourself in southern Texas I'll gladly let you drive it
Column Shifters are the best for automatics, manuals aren't as good but still fun, its keeps the shifter out of the way
Here's my idea of my dream truck; a 2 wheel drive, 2 door, regular cab short-bed, with Raptor fenders, hood, front bumper, grille, and rear fenders, and a Mustang sourced six speed manual transmission.....
9:29 man telling the future abt the electric ford lighting👀
I got a 5.0 4 door 150 with a pro charger on it. 8” lift and 37s and it’ll still spin for days
I have a RAM 1500 ST with a 5.7 Hemi and I've been thinking about throwing a supercharger kit under the hood. It is already cammed and tuned, I'd love to have another 200+ HP on top of the 450 its putting to the wheels now.
I have a 17 4x4 long box and I want this when she's paid off. Same colour too.
When this covid stuff is over me and a buddy are going to move to Tennessee, buy a 2020 crewcab with the 5.0 and the 10 speed auto, rwd, we're going to boost it, lower it and put a drag pack on it.
It's gonna be sweet
I'm sharing this to all my friends with f150
I ordered my kit for my detailing business and I've been Waiting for almost 2 weeks now. Covid has really set me back on starting this up
Forget the year, early 80s anyhow but I went for a high speed run in a prototype Ford pickup truck and I said to the driver this has a reasonable simulation of speed and the driver said this is the new concept Lightning prototype and his name was Jack Roush.
Without a doubt the most wicked sounding truck
Ford Ford, Ford is Ford, is number one, synonymous with great history, ok greetings.
ThatDudeinBlue thanks for your video, good job.
Welp I now want a v10 viper srt, c7 zr1 755 hp, and now this thunderbolt is a must truck and still be able to pull the other two around when I want to travel
Love the videos man huge fan! Keep them coming!
bro I would be so happy if they bring back the ford lightning
Everyone: Hey you put a coyote in the F150, just make a new lightning out of one
Ford: Best I can do is E L E C T R I C
That thing this is pretty awesome. They have a bunch of dealers close to Atlanta that sell lightning and lightning tributes
Love these "Muscle Trucks." Would be insane with the flatplane V8 from the GT350.
I've seen a 4WD version, lowered 4" in the back, 2" in the front with some suspension upgrades, wheels (nothing crazy or that looks out of place/far from stock) & tires that aren't as semi-sloppy in steering & launching.
The Gen 1 Lightning is still the best looking and most respected
Love how this trucks supercharger has a bigger displacement than the engine in my car lol
