      They don’t clarify things,
      Any price they say under £1200 is likely a shared apartment/house.
      So it’s misleading

  • @laithalsalhi2203

    The way they answered was misleading. All the rents mentioned was for a single room, not the whole place. I live in a 2 bed flat (zone 2) and it costs me 2200 a month.

    I find it very hard to believe that these people pay so little in central London. Only explanation I can come up with is that these places are very small and/or not updated. I live in Chelsea and just pay over £6,000 per month for a 3 bed, 2.5 bathrooms place that’s neither big nor super modern. This doesn’t include utilities or council taxes.

  • @impamiizgraa
    @impamiizgraa 4 месяца назад +1

    Obviously besides the people with mortgages, these are all shared flats or houses - £700 per month per person sharing with x4 others = £2,800 for the flat (likely to be quite crummy flat as well). I paid £675 for a 1-bed flat in Welwyn Garden City until 2021 and you don't even find those anymore!

    Rent in London is not bad at all, especially if you don't choose an area that's known for being trendy or expensive, for example i just looked up a 1 bedroom flat in Mitcham and there was one for £750 a month and one for £600 a month, there were other more expensive properties but those two were available as of right now. A lot of the people from outside of London that move here are more interested in Shoreditch than Mitcham and are looking to stay in or near a known place.

    • @andrewsa3195
      @andrewsa3195 Год назад

      Mitcham is Greater London, not London.

    • @tribalisnt
      @tribalisnt Год назад +1

      @@andrewsa3195 Virtually everyone in your video and most of your comment section are talking about Greater London by your definition. It basically confirms what I’m saying in that people don’t know London and end up paying stupid prices. Like Balham, Tooting, Mit ham, Streatham, Wimbledon are all London but you’d be like “ scoff they’re Greater London”” rather than just go “yeah Mitcham is a great option right next to Wimbledon with great transport links”.

    • @andrewsa3195
      @andrewsa3195 Год назад

      @@tribalisnt Not my video. Mitcham isn't part of London and it's unfair to compare rents between London and Greater London, they are different areas. Mitcham has no tube, so of course it will be cheaper to live than say Clapham for example.

    • @tribalisnt
      @tribalisnt Год назад

      @@andrewsa3195 Sorry my bad about the video misunderstanding, anyways 1/2 of Mitcham is a 5 minute walk from Tooting Broadway station and would be considered zone 3 so again it's about knowledge. Clapham is a broad area and you would rather live in Mitcham than Clapham North for example, Clapham Junction has always been quite high crime where as Common and South are fine. But even then Clapham is considered 'Greater London" too. Balham and Wandsworth Common cost an arm and a leg but Tooting & Mitcham are cheaper when it's all the same area.
