Last time I installed the headlight assembly I found it was worth removing that frame extension first.. Made it so much easier to get to those 3 outer bolts. There is a bit of play in those 3-bolt collars on both the inners and the outers so that you can fine tune the placement. Also much easier to adjust with those 4 springs removed first.
Yes, I can imagine how much easier that would be to have the frame out of the way. The springs aren’t needed for adjusting the cover? I’m all for leaving them off because it’s a hassle to keep replacing them when making changes to the clevis on the Vacuum plunger threads.
