Qg18de rough idle shacking misfire fixed head gasket

  • Hello and today we fixed this qg18de in a 2004 nissan pulsar n16.
    Came into my garage with a rough idle, misfiring, and shacking under load.
    So we done the usual compression test to see what's going on with this fella and boy were we in for a surprise 😮

    18 year old Nissan Almera Tino. Equipped with QG18DE engine.
    It ran 350,000 km.
    Oil consumption 1 Liter Oil/ 1000 km.
    Still, the spark plugs are nice and clean, light gray.
    CO Gas test is OK.
    Interesting.

      The previous owner used dead ethanol fuel that caused bad detention that burnt the head gasket

      1.8 qg blue bird no spark on coil number three u move that coil to next cylinder is working what can be the problem

      Do a comp test, swap coils, swap spark plug, check injectors and if all OK the check wiring to the coil and the injector

      I have the same engine, please use the flush engine liqui Molly pro line it's very good for consumption,

    I have the same car and engine and had the same problem 3 years ago. Headgasket even failed at the same spot between cylinder 1 and 2. i reused headbolts though. bad design that the headgasket failed at only 124ks. mine got too 190k before it failed. is at 215k now and going strong.

      I have the same is not firing on number three coil u take coil to next cylinder is working what's wrong

    Nissan don't jump timing on crank due to how the make the cover

      Im having this same issue a misfire and 2 and 3 when unplugging the coil packs the idle changes not by much
