Good video, provided me with some excellent information, thank you for taking the time to make it and publish it. I have found that the B15 series Nissan Sentras are notorious for the yellow plastic handle on the dipstick becoming brittle due to age and exposure to engine heat, and finally breaking off at the most inopportune time. Had it happen on both a 2003 and a 2006 1.8L. Might be more widespread, I don't know which other Nissan dipsticks use the plastic yellow top. Fix is easy (new dipstick) and OEM Nissan dipsticks are available on eBay for $14. Replacement is not a big deal as long as the broken portion of the dipstick doesn't fall down the tube. When it does, the dipstick tube can be unbolted from the engine and the remaining portion of the dipstick removed.
U should add $200.00, to whatever you charge her, to have that car detailed. She would drive away happy in an almost new car. By looking at the walking stick she might be old or disable or even and bad health condition. Anyway, you have saved her tons of money. Great man. God bless.
Super job! Can't believe the state of the inside lol I'd want a hazmat suit to sit in that! 😂😂😂 .... and who the hell would thumbs down this video?!! I'm guessing the lady and her dog ....
As in get a job doing this? No, I don't enjoy having a boss breathing down my neck because I'm not working fast enough. I take my hat off to those flat rate guys .
Love the modified screw driver trick! My goodness, from what I've seen on RUclips, Nissan's are the worse to work on. So many things are in the way. "Silly Chris Fix" that was funny. It sounded really good with oil in it. :)
Yes, it seems like the smaller cars are more difficult to work on because they try to fit everything into a small space. Even my car is a pita to work on. Thanks for watching as always 😊👍
Kinda sad to see a car like this go back to an owner who will never check the oil again, not even seem to care. Years ago, I laughed so hard at that Seinfeld episode where the mechanic was going crazy. But it also brings a tear to the eye, ha ha ha.
Yes this is true. Sometimes your efforts will go unnoticed to the owner because they dont care. Theyll just continue to drive it without a care. Yeah its definitely a funny schene frim Seinfeld😂👍
The reason they quoted her for the engine is to avoid all that work to mess with timing, removing the manifolds ect and possible shop drama if the head came back and it wasnt straight, also faster if you just swap the engine not budget friendly i agree but fast turnover makes money.
Hi. I have a question for you Sir. I have 2002 Chevrolet Express 3500 V8. I need to replace the bad oxygen Sensors. Which one Oxygen Sensors should I buy and can I replace those Oxygen Sensors by Myself. Thank you.
The mech a nic. Hello Sir. I went to the AutoZone and the Bosch Oxygen Sensor price is $45 each after tax and everything. I need 4 of them. Can I just buy any other brand of Oxygen Sensor. Can you please suggest Me any other brand little cheaper than that. I ‘m selling My Vehicle and I need the Smog Certificate before I Sell it to someone. Thank you.
Start off with a razor blade and do most of the work with that, then I used a 3M white bristle pad, then finish off with scratch bright pad and brake parts cleaner.
Out of curiosity, what did you charge to do this?? I can’t find anyone to do a head gasket on a ‘05 Nissan Altima. They all say replace engine. Without even looking at the car.
Many engines are designed to "stop on time". It's not really a fluke, skill, or good luck. They're engineered as such to relieve as much tension as possible on the resting system. That's a nice, tight running engine.
So with doing the timing you got to keep turning several times to have all the markings on the camshaft sets on all three markings right?. I am trying this my first time and a little nervous.
It would take many rotations for those timing marks on the chain to line up again. As long as the timing marks line up on the engine after a couple of rotations it should be good to go.
So I have a 2000 Nissan Sentra gxe 1.8 and 2 days ago My car broke down and there was coolant in the oil and I’m wanting to know if I need a new engine or replace the head gasket please help
@@themechanic6117 it looks like you did great on that head gasket repair. On so many cars nowadays it seems easier to take the engine out. A Harbor Freight engine hoist and engine stand is all I think you would need. What do you think your total hours on that job were about?
Blue to money green 👍, I feel bad for women who get taken advantage of by some scum bag shops ..thanks I’m still glad your brother cracked his head for messing with the cat 😹
You're a brave man for sitting inside that dumpster.
And I thought my car was messy..
12:36 my favorite part! =)
Definitely a "oh shit" moment 😂
Enjoyed the video,thanks for posting.

Ain’t nobody got time to check the oil level! ;)
Oil is so overrated

I have a video of replacing an oxygen sensor on a express van. If you cant find the video and try to get you a link
Yes Sir I found it. Thank you so much for the replay.

It's very unlikely that all 4 sensors are bad, why are you changing all 4?
The mech a nic. Sir I took My Van To the machine shop and he said all 4 Sensors are bad.
Nice job. What did you do to get the gasket surface so clean?
Start off with a razor blade and do most of the work with that, then I used a 3M white bristle pad, then finish off with scratch bright pad and brake parts cleaner.
The mech a nic 👍👍👍thanks for the info

Great job although look liked a big job to do.
Sure was, I don't enjoy big jobs like this
Would it be easier next time to take that engine out and do the entire install and put it back?
Not sure. I have no way of removing a engine so i dont know if that method is easier

Its hard to recall but id estimate it took me 8-10 hours total .
What is the trot for the head bolts
It's not by accident. You're the Miestro. Do you have one for the 2.5 Altima
Sorry I haven't come across this job for the 2.5 yet
You going to send that head to the machine shop
There's no need for that
👍👍👍
I’m stealing the screwdriver idea!
👍😁

four mechanics were triggered about their terrible work done on this car
😂👍
