  • Things definitely don't always go according to plan, and this week we had to do some serious regrouping by taking a step back and making some plans for the journey going forward.

Definitely. And often reassessing progress and goals helps them stay attainable!

Hi guys - i admire you both for taking on such a huge job - sadly reality is never too easy! But I am so glad to see you are seriously talking to each other as you go and re-evaluating as you go - keep doing that! And short term goals are so important when you face such a huge job - and achieving short term goals gives you a boost that you are achieving things! Like a little reward as you tackle jobs which is such an encouragement to your daily walk! Step by step - its the best way for your own mental health - forget the giant giant steps - small steps will make up the giant ones! But keep talking and making sure your expectations are lined up with each others! Lots of love and encouragement from me down under!👏👏👍👍🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

What an awesome video! Straight from the heart. It must be hard to keep spirits up when you get swarmed every time you go out. Especially since the cannabis isn’t ready to be harvested…
Most people avoid backcountry Ontario in June due to the bugs. The campsites in Algonquin park are all empty until holiday weekend.
Fragranced soap attracts them too. As Best to try to stink as much as you can. Smearing mud on your skin actually works. For dogs too.

Yeah we are definitely doing what we can to repel the bugs while out there. We'll definitely try mud if we can find a decent "cleaner" deposit of it. Definitely not always easy to keep the spirits up at times but the comments and interactions like these make all the difference to us. 😁 Side note, as mentioned,it will be nice when the cannabis plants are at harvesting time. Just a few more weeks likely.

Sorry you’re going through a crappy time. It will get better. As soon as you’re permanently on the land. Until then every little step helps.

@@SusantheSage definitely one day and step at a time. Hopefully this week we figured out easier steps!

Any andevture or life change is as much, maybe more, an inner journey as an external one. You have what it takes to do what you want and need to do.

Sorry I wasn’t able to join the live video. Just wondering if you have the list of “chores/need to do” segregated under good and bad weather? So if you’re planning on doing something the next day and the weather changes you can just flip to the other list and it’s ready and prioritized in what you need to do.

After 4 years of homesteading you guys sound like we did, 1 major thing we had to do was focus and think what is #1 priority and do that don't put a time limit on it unless fighting time for winter..cabin I believe should be your #1 plan.sound like you guys need space and storage...plans will change 1000's of times before your done..

Yeah, it's tough to prioritize everything we want versus everything we need. We're getting there, we think! -D
