How did I study for the INBDE and PASS it on my FIRST ATTEMPT?!
Plus, I only had a month and a half to study while applying for dental schools, etc.
A little bit about myself:
I am a foreign-trained dentist from Thailand pursuing dentistry in the United States. I've gone through the whole journey of
- taking the INBDE, TOEFL
- applying to dental schools in the United States (getting letters of recommendation, writing my personal statement, etc.)
- preparing for the interview
- acceptance process (doing background checks, student visas, etc.)
and now I'm finally here! It wasn't easy! I felt very lost on so many occasions during this whole process.
My goal is to break it down for you all and give you all the resources I found, so you don't have to go through the same struggles I did!

Congratulations, Sandy! It is such a great feeling when your hard work pays off and you get that PASS! 😃 I'm so glad my videos were helpful to you!
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, DR. RYAN!!! i can't talk about your channel enough in this video! 😂 #1 INBDE prep material for sure! 🏆🥇
Hi from Thailand! Thank you so much for uploading this. I’m planning on taking the exam at the end of this year and this vid is really helpful and inspiring. Looking forward to your updates!
Thank you and best of luck!!!!
Thank you for the update! ❤Congratulations 🎉
Thank you!
So helpful! You're the best!
thank you!!
Congratulations!🎉
Thank you!!
hi, your videos really helps! you explained it so well and detailed. I would like to know for the nbde part1 subjects like microbiology or physiology, biochemistry etc. what kinds of study materials you used? I have only the book first aid part 1, but seems like you only bought first aid part 2. thank you :)
I did not study nbde part 1 material at all, since the INBDE is mostly case based. I tried to go through first aid part 2 book but to be honest, I barely had time to study it!
Congratulations 🎉
thank you!!!
Congratulations! Thank you so much for informative video. I am also preparing for INBDE but can you also share some tips on how you apply for universities, what are the steps and about interviews and stuffs?? It will be very helpful for many people..!! Thank you!!
Thank you! The first step to apply through CAAPID. That's where you submit ALL your applications. Each school has their own application process (e.g. some has supplemental application in their websites and some don't). As for interviews, I googled interview preps on google and youtube and prepared from those! I will try to make a video on applying for universities and interview prep sometime in the future! :)
@@sandypriyawatkim Thank you so much for your kind answer!! I will be looking forward to your future videos!!😀😀
your video is really soft im really interested on it,,now its good sound
Thank you!!
hey !! congrats on passing the exam and getting into a dental school as well ... i just wanted to know did u get any questions from part 1 ... like physio . general pathology. biochem ... etc. ... should i take the time and study them in details ?
thank you! i did not really get those physio, general pathology, and biochem questions. I went into it having no clue (never took NBDE parts 1 or 2 before) but just mainly focused on Mental Dental youtube videos and it worked! In my opinion, you should not take the time to study those topics!
Hi Sandy. Congrats on getting admission into USC. Your videos are really helpful. I heard that most of the dental schools have admission deadlines by June 1st. Just wondering how you were able to give the test in mid of June and complete the application process. May I know your timeline please?
Hi Shruthi, thank you!! And you are so observant!!! One of my challenges was also the time constraint.... like you said, most schools have admission deadlines by June, so i was not able to apply to any of those! Basically, I was able to apply to only USC because their application deadline was in August.
That’s great to hear you got your admission in the first attempt. Thank you for responding to my question, Sandy. This is so helpful😊
As an international how do i get a sponsor to get a loan?
Your videos have been really helpful. Thank you!!! I was just wondering since you’ve been accepted already, how many semesters will it take to finish and get the license? Thank you so much!!
At USC, they go by trimesters (3 semesters a year) and the program is 6 trimesters!
@@sandypriyawatkim sorry just got a little confused with that. So basically 2 years?
@@clarissearaneta5024 yes, it’s a 2 year program at USC
@@sandypriyawatkim thank you so much! You’ve been really helpful :)
@@clarissearaneta5024 you’re welcome! Best of luck! :)
Congrats for passing!! Is it possible to get the excel sheet in this video please

Hey there, i have a question. My name on my dental degree has an extra surname. so In order to create dentpin, should i use the name on my passport or the name on my dental degree?. The names on my passport and degree do match including my father's name and other stuff like my birth date but my dental degree and all of my educational documents have an extra surname in my name. I haven't had any issues with this so far but should i be worried about this before i apply for inbde?
Hmmm i think it’s best for you to email them and ask to make sure there won’t be a problem
@@sandypriyawatkim yes i already did that, and ended up having my name changed on my passport and other ID's. It turns out that you need to have the exact same name on your passport and on your educational documents.
can u share the spreadsheet plz
Congratulations on your admission. Need some guidance about INBDE exam.I am a third year BDS student from pakistan. How can I start my preparation and when??
Thank you! You can decide when you want to take the exam, apply for the inbde and schedule an exam date. And then you can study for it!
Hello. I really want to knw that after passing INBDE exam , can we practice as dentist or need to study further.
Hi, you will need to pass the INBDE and apply to dental schools (international program). Unfortunately, you cannot work as a dentist right after passing the INBDE.
@@sandypriyawatkim is it possible to apply for residency after passing the indbe
@@bravo90 yes it is. check out my response to your other comment :)
Congratulations what was your gpa is it very important to get in a school?
My dental school GPA was 3.37! I don't think it was that important cause mine wasn't high 😅
Hey can you say what they asked for bench test please
What bench test are you referring to?
Could you also please share the sheets template?

Yes I can help you apply for a residency visa without any problem hit me up
yes you can! However, not every state allows you to practice as a dentist after graduation from a residency program.
