A PRO-GUN campaigner says he can cut inner-city violence in cities like Chicago - by giving them greater access to legal firearms and knowledge. Maj Toure is the founder of Black Guns Matter, a pro-gun organisation that aims to educate urban populations about their Second Amendment rights. He believes that years of prejudice have convinced urban populations to associate guns with crime rather than defending themselves, their communities and their rights. Maj has been taking his message across the United States for the past year, visiting areas such as Atlanta, Baltimore and Detroit.

At 82 I qualify as an old white duffer. This is not a race issue. Nothing really is. We all too often make it one.
When people say "I have never owned a gun and never needed one"... ok? I own a fire extinquisher, never needed it. I have flood insurance on my house, never needed it. I have airbags in my car, never needed them. It's not about if you needed it in the past, its about what if you WILL need it.

Dr. numbskull I wish every American have at least took an education course on gun rights and the second amendment course. And Almost ALL Americans have at least shot one bullet to learn how to defend themselves. The main reason why we have successfully defended against invasions like the War of 1812 is because of our gun culture not our Government’s war tactics. That’s why no sane country tried to invade the U.S. like that Japanese General said. There is a gun behind every blade of grass in the USA.

Gun safety should be taught in schools like sex ed is taught imho....I'm not saying give kids guns to play with in schools, I'm talking about the pure education about the way different guns work, how to operate them safely to avoid accidents and the consequences/carnal aftermath of these accidents and homicides...like Mother's against Drunk Driving teaches DUI offenders because I believe that ignorance IS a big factor in gun deaths and whether we like it or not, guns are a part of our constitution and a part of the fabric of this country so why not educate?

There are more out there, and I think it important we listen to what they have to say. All of us. The science is in, we're all human, and though some are still stupid, our Constitution applies to each and every citizen of the United States. When we let them limit the natural rights of any one of us, or any group of us, we open the door to legal subjugation for ALL of us. Who is affected, or even the rationalized reason for any infringement don't really matter. It's not the specific act, it's that we ALLOW them to do it at all, and that is very much our own failing.
You mean he speaks in rather correct English, can prove what he says to be true, and doesn't allow YOU, or anyone else, to define HIS "blackness". Guess his truth just hits too close to home for you. A young man who believes in obeying the law, that OUR Constitution is our best weapon against injustice and for fostering true equality, and won't let anyone tell him he "can't" most especially because of the color of his skin, and YOU find that worthy of scorn and condemnation. I used to do cash pick-ups at a mostly black high-school. The Male students would often ask what kind of gun I was carrying and were very fascinated. Once I told a group of them that they could carry one when they turned 21 and they all looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language.
