We have had 2 bad floods in the last 10 yrs and nearly all of the cemetery was under standing water for days, the lower lying areas have never been properly restored. there were no cameras anywhere in the cemetery. Until a double break in at the newer mausoleum near the front entrance in Oct of 2015 (I think), Urns were stolen and oddly later recovered from a mentally challenged young man who said voices told him to take them and care for them. Cameras were installed in that mausoleum afterward. My sons and uncle are there. My uncle is one of the ones who got to do a lil after death traveling. We were very lucky to have him returned. Crack heads often steal urns to sell off for scrap metal to buy more drugs. How sick is that? Cant be good for one's karma I would imagine.

Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on the airplane that killed JP Richardson. But JP was sick and Waylon gave up his seat for him. As sad as it is that we lost 3 great early rock stars in that crash, I'm glad Waylon Jennings got to live. He created some awesome music in his career. His song, "Are you sure Hank done it this way" was #1 on the country charts on the day I was born. Great video, as always.

It's terrible that people vandalize the graves like that. I'm in Calif. but my husband's grandparents are actually buried in that cemetery.
The reason there's no names is exactly what you said you hoped wasn't the case. The family or whoever bought that spot would have to pay to put the names back. The remains would have been put back in there and then the cemetery put the blank marble back just like they would put the dirt back if someone had dug up a grave. They couldn't be "moved" to a different space because they can only be placed in the space purchased for them. The one exception would be if the family paid to have the remains removed and cremated instead. The office at the cemetery would be able to tell you if they were no longer there if you knew the names. As a genealogist, I've spent a lot of time in cemeteries doing research and it's heartbreaking how many graves are just vandalized "for fun" with no respect for the dead or their loved ones..

I remember that video you did, where you talked about how you learned your lesson about not spitting on graves. That you had spat on the grave of an executed criminal and he followed you back and haunted you. I can't help but to wonder if, God willing, a little justice didn't follow that person(s) who desecrated those graves and coffins? That may not have been pretty.

    Some people are simply ghoulish.
I used to work security at a community college that had a Nursing School. There was a "Cadaver Lab" in one of the wings. To save electricity, the school would shut off the A/C after 5:00 pm. In the summertime it got oppressive my hot in there, but the worst part is that when I did my hourly rounds, I had to open the fire doors to that wing and be pummeled by a wave of hot air that stunk of the "formalin" used to preserve the bodies. My shift was 11:00 pm - 7:00 am, so I had to walk through that wing, in the dark, by myself, nine (9) times per night.
One night, I was training the new guy and when we entered the wing, not surprisingly, he said "Oh gawd, what's that smell?" I explained to him that it was the human corpses in the cadaver lab for the nursing students to study anatomy.
While most people would say "Ugh!" or display another sign of disgust, his eyes lit up. "Let's go look at 'em!"

This is the reason why My wife and I are going to be cremated and our remains will be buried in the ground. Mausoleums are not a good place to be interned in do to Vandals, weather such as a tornado, leakage from the vaults. RIP to all who are buried at this cemetery. Also Lamont it's ok to forget your hat. Baldness is cool and slick 😎.

It reminds me of the original or first episode of the old Dark Shadows series. A lowlife character named Willy breaks into the mausoleum/grave of the Collins Family which is somewhere on the Collins Family estate. He does this to steal the jewelry of Barnabas Collins which is still supposed to be on the body. However in his criminal quest he unleashes the Vampire Barnabas Collins and gives him new life and so starts the beginning of Dark Shadows.

So sad and disrespectful about those caskets being pulled out like that😢
They were no doubt drunk or high and said let’s see what a dead body looks like. As a teen in the 1970’s,we occasionally hung out in a cemetery and drank beer. But never in our times there, did we ever want to do what they did to those people.
