@Lamont At Large I am from Atoka, Oklahoma. The Hyatt brothers that you mentioned were my grandmother’s uncles. Vernon was particularly close to my grandmother before his passing in her youth. Vernon actually was bitten by a snake while swimming and then drowned. My grandmother is very close to passing away at this time. Vernon recently visited her in her dreams and told her that if she would go with him on a journey she would no longer hurt. She declined and is still with us for now
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 sorry for you and your family’s loss! Praying your grand mother continues to hang in there even longer! So sorry about what happened to Vernon and the cause of it! Thank you for that information! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Everybody who dies eventually gets forgotten. The people who loved you die themselves and eventually everyone who ever knew you dies too. If you go to ny older cemetary there will mostly be graves who haven't been tended to in decades. Its because everyone who cared is gone.
Yes, one thing that really angers me is vandalism and destruction in cemeteries! it has happened where I live before and nobody was ever caught. Just awful!
Hey Lamont. Just wanted to say your videos are a nice source of comfort for me right now. Going through a bit of a rough time right now and watching your content is a really nice distraction. Thank you brother.
I like these videos. Even if it's just for a few minutes you are recognizing someone's life who has long been forgotten. That's really nice dude and I respect you for that 💯.
As a Hispanic/Indigenous woman, I have always had a deep respect for those who have passed on. I tried my best as a teen to enforce others to have the same respect for those who have passed & their resting places, I hope I can teach my daughter the same. It truly is a shame to see desecrated resting places for innocent souls. Thank you for caring about those who have no one to care for them anymore.
Early deaths were usual back when no systematic technological healthcare especially in villages. Even still common in nowadays poverty third world. This is why they tried to give birth to more children since they expectedly not all can live till adulthood.
My gran̈dfather is supposedly buried in Ada. I promised my dad I would find him. The divorce led to his disapperce. Supposedly that is where his family lived. HIS name was James Oscar Moore Senior.😢
My little small town of Meyersdale had an issue with people knocking down the stones and they found out who did it and they were all prosecuted play were teenagers and the mother and fathers had to pay to have everything fixed
@debbimeyersbrant5752 Then you are not very far from me! It's a small world after all!🤗How did the Maple Pancake Festival go this year? That was always a fun event to attend!
I appreciate your work, Lamont. You bring those who have gone to their rest into our thoughts. The stories of the lives of these long gone folks are fascinating to me!
I appreciate the backgrounds you give on the graves you are visiting. 🕊️❤️🙏 The desecration of graves makes me sad and angry. I pray the cemetery cleans it up and restores the graves. Heartbreaking.
@KingRat-rv4klGet an appointment with somebody please your head is wasted .Are you jealous off Lamont or what you certainly couldnt do what he does get a life .
Thanks lamont! Sad these idiots go out and destroy people's 💩. They will pay for the damage they caused one day! Stay safe out there, sending positive vibes your way! ✌️ ❤️ 😊
The investigative work you do, Lamont, is oft times long and arduous: Thank you for sticking with it because all of your subscribers benefit greatly!!! May God Bless You with Good Health and Safe Travels, young man!!!
Hey Lamont . i love graveyards at sunset. Thanx so much for telling their stories. It means alot. I guess that's what makes you the best here in the USA. I wish i could remember how many years i have followed you. Take care and God bless dear friend❤😊❤😊
Some people at when i was in school got caught knocking over tombstones got 10yrs in prison for it back in the late 80s..i know people should be made more of examples out of it.
Lamont thank you for going to that cemetery and telling the story of these people's lives. The weather was getting really bad, so I'm glad you were heading to your car. Stay safe buddy.
Thank you Lamont for all that you do. It gives me a source of comfort watching them. My dear momma and I used to love taking road trips and stopping at cemeteries and looking up the history. I'll miss that. My momma passed last June after 5 years of me diligently caring for her during her illness. At the moment, our family is waiting for her beautiful headstone memorial to be planted nexted to her. Again Lamont, Thank u so much. You're an angel
Great video Lamont.I made a comment one time about people that destroyed cemeteries and i got about a thousand likes and about 1500 comments. They were from a lot of mad people talking about what they would do to them if they caught somene doing that. The punks need to know what might happen to them if they get caught.
When I was a little girl, my mother would take us to the cemetery to visit the graves of the dead. For some reason, I was always afraid to step on the graves and would always walk around them. My mother always said "it's not the dead you have to be afraid of, it's the living." This comes back to mind when I see the destruction the "living" do to these graves. Here in England, Lamont, the owners of the cemeteries (councils) will purposely flatten graves that are leaning too much to prevent them falling on, and injuring, people. Usually there are notice boards at the entrances giving plot numbers and reasons why the graves were flattened.
Hi Lamont, I have never been to this cemetery but have been to the historic cemetery in Boggy Depot State Park. It is run by the Chicasaw and Choctaw Nation. In side the park you will find the grave of Chief Allen Wright who was a Choctaw Chief and three time Choctaw Territorial Representative. He is also the one that named our State Oklahoma. Okla means people and humma means red. Back then it was Territory of the Red People. Now it litterally means The State belonging to Red People. The cemetery and park is well cared for and beautiful. The town of Boggy Depot is no longer there, but in the late 1830's on it was a busy Town and the Butterfield stage coach from St Louis stopped there on it's way West. The area of Atoka was in Conferedate territory and fighting did happen there. A museum north of Atoka on rte 75 does have the only Confedetate cemetery this far west. Boggy Dept State Park is just over seven miles off the highway on a winding dirt road called Park Lane. ( a right turn when going south through Atoka) Also a right turn by the McDonald's takes you the back way into the Park and right to the cemetery. I know you have to take a left turn into the park on this route, but I can not recall if that is marked. I guess GPS would tell you. Sorry it's been 8 years since I went there to camp. It is really worth it to go in the main entrance so you can talk to the park staff who are great.
Tell your dear loved ones you love them every day... Because it might be the last time you get the chance to... Enjoy your videos, thanks n' God bless brother

In the city of Westminster California someone broke into the cemetery and knocked of the head of a huge Angel statue and many of us were so angry 😤 every time I go there it saddens me to see it. Many famous people such as Bradley Nowell of band Sublime was cremated and his ashes were spread over his favorite surfing spot in Surfside, California. A headstone was placed at Westminster Memorial in Westminster, California, in his memory. The cause of death was a heroin overdose.
I truly thank this gentleman for using his time this way to educate us. A great man who cares about people alive and dead. He has true compassion!!!
I agree! ❤
That’s why we all love him so much!!

I think about that every time I see a (very old) headstone that says "Gone, But not forgotten". 😔
That's one thing I always feel sad about when I come across a grave in the older sections of cemeteries.
I'm alive and forgotten
Sometimes, people are forgotten even before they pass away.

Agreed, about the vandals of graveyards. Absolutely terrible and disrespectful of other human beings.😢
Yes, one thing that really angers me is vandalism and destruction in cemeteries! it has happened where I live before and nobody was ever caught. Just awful!

It’s amazing the talent you have telling the stories of these virtually unknown peoples lives and make the stories interesting.
What a horrible thing to happen to a family, losing 2 sons in such a short period of time.
Hey lady greyblack, that's sad, Mr Lamont is purdy informative.
@KingRat-rv4klyou do troll!
@KingRat-rv4klIf it happened to you, I am sure you would care. What a lack of empathy, and rude thing to say, congratulations.

Bit of a historic footnote: Deputy Sumter was the 6th Great Nephew of Revolutionary War General Thomas Sumter, whom Fort Sumter was named after.

Delayed death in cases of car crash often involved head injuries. Brain bleeds. No CT or MRI detection during the 1950s.
Fortunately, seatbelt laws and airbag technology have helped.
