Travel with the train driver as we journey from Bendigo to Castlemaine in the north of the state of Victoria, Australia in an N class diesel locomotive running a service from Swan Hill to Melbourne. Maximum speed for this train is 115kph. August 2023.

As visceral and engaging as this is, as an first hand experience, after watching the Velocity gear you've posted, I have so much appreciation for those who have driven, the louder gear! The S Class with the "Roots Blown" -"shut the doors on this one Maxy" supercharged gear, must have been an nightmare.

Vlocity units are nice but it is great to drive the locomotives. N class on passenger trains or S, C, T etc on heritage, it's all enjoyable 👍😀

What a trip . I lived in Bendigo for quite a while and catch the train to Melbourne . After the tunnel at big hill it would break in to open farm land , there is a lot of regrowth blocking the view now .
