I loved this video! Being new to FMQ, I get a lot out of your videos that talk about how to use the design together or in practical (and practice!) applications. Thank you!
Hi Leah thanks for the tutorial finally got the open foot which has made it easier to see and need to take the advice about not being comfortable changing direction of quilt.
Thank you for this video. It's nice to see what you are doing with your Quilty Box. I am also a subscriber and I had trouble with July's box. It wasn't my style but I like that Quilty Box is so diverse. Where do you typically start when quilting? Middle, edge, etc.? I have never really known where to start or if it matters. Thanks.
On a home machine, I always start in the middle and work my way outward. That way if the fabric shifts, it's shifting steadily outward rather than puddling and pleating in the middle.
I use a combination of a go pro and a Sony handycam. I used Sony cameras for years and have recently fallen out of love with them. They don't hold focus well, the mount was badly positioned and they vibrate like crazy, etc. The go pro holds much much better focus and has excellent stabilization. The only issue is I can't flip back the screen to see my shot so I have to sit on the table, get it in perfect position, hit record, hop off the table and hit my audio recorder and second camera. It's a bit of a juggle and the go pros batteries don't last as long either. So... nothing is perfect! I don't like using my phone because it takes FOREVER to upload the video via dropbox. Just my experience and I'm still learning and playing with it every day!
Smiles....it's pronounced '"Say-Toe"...(best I can do on the phonetics there, and that isn't perfect but...lol) love this Quilty Box, but not all of them. Can they be returned if unliked?
LOL! I'm terrible on pronunciations and rarely have time to look it up. Just contact Quilty Box if you're unsatisfied and explain why. Not every box is for everyone, but overall I find it a terrific challenge to work with so many different materials.

That fabric is gorgeous! Love how you had fun "playing." I like the permission to play as well. Thanks Leah!

Yes, yes, yes! Don't leave the quilt in an uncomfortable direction! It's a sure recipe for bad looking stitches and making a mess of the design.
Love that fabric!
Thank you!

Leah can you recommend a free motion quilting for for the Sparrow? Edit: nevermind...see the link above! Thanks!
No worries! I also carry a ruler foot for this machine now too!
Thanks! I think my foot arrived today (I'm at work).
What kind of camera do you use? Right now, I am using my cell phone.
