I remember watching sims 3 trailers and my mom said that the sims look like real people, I doubt most of us would agree now
tbf sims 3 ppl look a lot closer to real ppl compared to sims 4 ppl
@@A4I1K0 Sims 3 was meant to look more realistic and for some reason they went back on that (and a lot more) for Sims 4.. for some reason they went this like clay/cartoon style and took out like all personality. Sims 4 feels like we're playing with dolls rather than it being a life sim. That's why people get so excited for these other life sims that could rival Sims or at least show Sims that other life sims can exist. Cause currently Sims can do whatever they want because it doesn't matter since they're the only life sim of its kind. I think that's also why the latest expansions have been ONLY the things simmers have wanted for years. Because there have been so many life sims "threatening" to release.
youtube asked me how i felt about this comment lmao 😂
@@TeddyK1ng oh yea ig i misunderstood the comment lol
@@Eventide215 it's actually good for sims to have competition lol i hope they can be more creative with future updates and EPs like putting pressure on them once other sim games garner a lot more interests
Ngl I can already feel my PC sobbing just from the idea of playing a game with such graphics. It looks amazing, but it also looks like unless you have a really good graphic card, you may run into some problems
same here!
Some of the settings (like the style of the atmosphere, the amount of crowds, etc.) can be edited, but I know that doesn’t help much.
lmaoo our pc’s are gonna blow upp😭
Another game I can experience vicariously though RUclipsrs with ridiculously high end pc😂
This is said about every game.. people said it about Sims 4 when it came out as well. It's always said by people that don't really understand PCs too which is the funniest part to me.
Bro it took the "my sims are looking deractly at me, staring into my soul" to another level
The heads-turning-when-paused glitch lives on in my nightmares…
The game seems very Korean even the movements and behaviors. That's not bad but it explains why some actions like giving a gift feel off. Presenting any gift is much more formal in Korean culture. Being Korean in these early stages also explains the limits on available looks as they are much more of a mono-culture. And life is VERY work centered. I would try playing it... I too don't really care much for the hyper-realism.
what activity girls like most online then
this is what i got as well, the dancing and the heart gesture gave me those vibes heavily, especially since all the characters look korean, if that’s the right term im sorry if it’s not
Nah ur good
i know everyone thinks it looks uncanny but i think it looks pretty :(
Personally I think both, it's pretty, but too realistic, gives me a tiny bit of uncanny vibes.
Yeah me too it is pretty am excited 😆
Me too !!
@@karlitatvyou have to watch the actual game play. You quickly adjust I was like you but seeing it and seeing how you can do soo much in like nah this is it
i think it looks way too cute 😭
it reminds me of final fantasy (the pets) or black dessert, and those are amongst my favorites in terms of character design
much better than any sims game without mods
The Sims needs competition, it's had it to easy for to long. I think this has real potential though.
The Sims is prohibitively expensive if you want to explore even a handful of packs, any company that can pressure them to lower their pack prices significantly is a very good thing.
As long as they put the price of the one Kit that has _nothing_ but *5 **_suckers_* 2 _buggy_ aspirations where you either have to keep your home clean, or make it dirty or filthy. James Turner, formerly known as TheSimSupply, proved that the aspirations are buggy and glitchy when he played with the one where you have to have a filthy house -mansion in the case with his sim- in his Super Sim Challenge@@andrewwright64
@@andrewwright64Yeah the issue Sims has always had is if you're there for each release it's not bad because it's like $30 here, $20 there, etc so you don't really feel it since you're only paying every few months. However, the issue is if you're new and want to get into it after a few packs have released.. that's when it feels like they don't want you to play it because now you look at Sims 4 like "You want me to pay over $1k for your game..??" and then the veterans that already have all the packs since they've been there paying slowly over time will justify it with things like "Well you don't need all the packs!" Meanwhile a vast majority of the packs are things that aren't "extra" to life. Like pets being an additional charge or Growing Together being extra.. these make no sense to me whatsoever. There's a reason Sims is known as one of the most pirated games ever.
The Sims now has 2 competitors on its azz LBY and INZOI
The lack of competition is what allows EA to be so lazy with stuff like coding too which allows things like the wedding pack to happen. It’d be nice to kick them into gear but hopefully doesn’t make them crunch their devs even more which is also part of the problem.
The WickedWhims community might need to have a dialogue with this level of realism…
I did notice they didn't show any 'woohoo' feature in the trailer, the uncanny valley can get to a whole new level depending how they tackle reproduction in the game
@@fruity4820 maybe they could do a fade to black? that wouldn't be too weird
@@fruity4820 i saw another youtuber do i review on it and it basically is a sort of fade to black thing with a cutscene
@@leelasalary9136 as far as I have seen, the game is too PG-13 and conservative to even show woohoo in the game.
It’s a Korean game….super conservative. All the “spicy” stuff is cut scenes.
tbh sims is like the main life simulation game and has got a long lasting history so i personally think it’ll be quite hard to get as popular but could deffo be better
I think Paralives is going to come the closest (especially since the people working on it were fed up with how Sims 4 turned out lol)
i mean people said the same thing about simcity so you never really know
It’s the main one because it’s genuinely the only option. These other games have been in development for years and are very likely to come to the same level as Sims
The things is all i want is the sims 5 to be release. It already a long time since the last sims game, and the longer it took the higher my expectation will be due to these new life simulation game simulation. EA really milking sims4 so bad that it feels like they just another rockstar situation with GTA V 😐
@@BrookeTorres95 Honestly not to sound like a shill for the Paralives Patreon, but I'm so impressed every Friday when they release new details. They're really putting in the effort to not just be a clone, but rather to really craft an enjoyable experience. I can't wait for some of these details to be public, because I just want to gush about them all over again.
Korean society is still very binary oriented and a great number of people aren’t hesitant to express uncomfortableness when something doesn’t fit to that. As a Korean game company, to be safe, they wouldn’t walk out of that safe zone easily. Also, Koreans beauty standard is pretty rigid and less open to variety as you would be able to easily tell if you have some chances to watch videos from Korean Sims youtubers. This direction towards hyper realism is kinda understandable and it will do good for them in the Korean market.
So korea is still sane!
@@SaraRankins.💀 embarrassing
@@SaraRankins.that really was embarrassing 🤣
@@SaraRankins. good for you
@@SaraRankins. yeah I guess. It's not a bad thing that games still adhere to older sensibilities. The Sims can cater to their market and this one can cater to another.
My fear with all these competitors is that in the end, they are no fun. What (I believe) we miss from the older sims game is CHAOS, unpredictible reactions, crazy neighbours, not perfect sims and shiny bathrooms
That's so true! The sims 4 can easily be modded to be aesthetically similar to a game like this, even if this one does have much better graphics. People still return to the sims 2 for the gameplay not the graphics
Yeah I think that's something that seems to be missing from all the life sims we're seeing come out. They all feel too sterile.
I think something to be aware of is that the company creating this game is Korean. With South Korea in general being more traditional/conservative in their values and views on beauty etc, I think the diversity may not be as strong in this game, but I'm optimistic as representation is pretty important. Especially in a life sim.
edit: I really wish that some of these replies would just read my comment again. Wanting representation doesn't only include it for the lgbt community, it's important for other nationalities and races.
In no way am I bashing Korean culture or the people, I'm just explaining that it's important to have neutral expectations.
Edit 2: I'm not from the US, not even close, I actually grew up in a conservative environment. It's harmful to paint intersectional representation as an American view, when clearly, people from all over the world are concerned about this.
Right? I expect majority of "sims" to be Asian if not all 9f them just by watching that character creator segment. So yeah I don't really have high hopes in that department
That’s not a bad thing, just different. The Sims franchise also reflects american lifestyle and values (for non-american player like me, some concepts and key game moments might be a bit odd), it’s inevitable that this game may have South Korean perspective on things, and that’s okay 😊
@@lonely_chichirka
there should still be more options for BIPOC and LGBTQ? they also exist in korea, thats not an excuse
@@kashe7285 well, we can’t judge the whole game based on this short trailer. But as far as I can see here, they at least have different skin options and same-sex romantic interactions. Again, even BIPOC is the term that is very specific to the US, and we shouldn’t expect the same focus on this topic from the country with a very different culture and historical background
@@lonely_chichirkano we still should. Just because it’s a different country doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be inclusive of all genders, sexualities and races. Being conservative is very much a bad thing when it hurts such a large portion of the community. We saw so few skin colours meaning a huge amount of people can’t make themselves, so they’re excluded. And then we get onto will the trans and non-binary community be excluded too if they can’t even factor in/ be inclusive of skin colour/race
It looks like the PC is going to explode trying to run this game 😂
Yep
Mine is going to take off into space 😊
My 5800x3d and 3070 Ti should be plenty for this game thankfully
my friend who knows a bit of programming said this game is created with a program that isn't too heavy on the computer (by the style of the ui he said he could tell). so if it's well created, it could run on mid pc's, not only high tech.
the money people invest into all the sims dlc can be instead used to buy a pc which can run games like this :D just sayin
the uncanny valley is lowkey becoming uncanny mountain
uncanny mariana's trench
The uncanny Mountain range 😅
Now I know why the Sims has a cartoony style to it. This is unsettling.
🦄🦄C'mon, Chaarrlieee...let's go to uncanny mountainnnn!
Idk why but this game doesn't look uncanny to me. While it does look hyperrealistic, there is still an aesthetic lean that separates it from the real world, like a yassified version of last of us 2 and I think I'm okay with that lol
Hold up! with this level of realism I wonder how they are going to tone down more serious deaths like burning alive, electrocution, starvation etc and if they end up introducing pets what about that realistic cat or dog just dropping dead. I'm genuinely curious
i have extreme violence on the sims 4 so i’m wondering this too
Honestly I'd just deal with it LOL. Or they can do a general drop dead animation and have the character fade away without all the crazy of electrocution or burning to death. But if we can handle GTA we can handle this easy.
They don’t turn it down. You can get hit by a car and die it’s kinda wild to see. Someone else was playing the game it was wild
Imagine they program in charred skin 😂😂😂
this is an interesting question because i'm sure it would affect the game rating. I'm sure they'd want to go for a T rating at most like the Sims but it would definitely be interesting to see if they go for M too.
"...look how real they look, isn't it kind of scary?" NO! I LOVE, LOVE LOVE the look, now I hope their actions and behaviors are more like the sims 2, and I'll be back loving a game again! Thanks for this. I do wish you had taken them up on the Krafton offer, I'd have loved to know what you thought after a hands on experience. Please take them up on it, if they offer again.
Right? It doesn't even look realistic, it looks like an AI. There's nothing uncanny about it to me, but maybe it's because I don't play The Sims so their style isn't ingrained in my head. But this style offers more in terms of in depth customization.
@@depressantdrug what activity girls like most online.plss can you tell me
i think because it’s an east asian game, the customization will probably only fit their traditions and customs and the countries inside that region.
Just like TS4
98% is american
@@lunasquib Well, the sims has become more and more inclusive throughout the years and games. Also, because of the diverse population within the US and how popular the sims is all over the world, they have more reason to create more diverse cas, items and worlds.
Yeah, it does look like the characters are heavily based in Korean beauty standards
most likely . with south korea being pretty conservative , it makes sense they might keep things very binary genderwise and have less options for non-east asians . hopefully they open up the options , but i'm not holding my breath .
I think for them to really be marketable outside of asia as well they should really work on the inclusivity. I have no issue with it emphasizing their culture, but for their best interest in terms of money and expansion to multiple countries, it would be wise.
hopefully mods will be created though, to make up for their downfalls
i wonder how the character speaking will sound. it’s a korean game, so maybe the “simlish” will sound like korean just like how simlish sounds like english?
Yeah like I wonder that too, simlish is a unique gibberish language made up of other languages and something just made up as it goes along, it will be hard to replicate something like that.
@@karlitatv Simlish sounds like a strange mix of Slavic and German-derivative vocabulary to me with a heavily USA-influenced inflection and rhythm the like. You can actually tell some cognates from Germanic languages especially. It's very much not free from influences, so I'd bet that, given how extremely distinct Korean is (it's a near-language isolate!), they would have to REALLY try not to make it sound Korean.
@@asaasa7900eh German definitely not 😅
@@mlw9195 I said Germanic haha
Germanic includes languages like English, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Icelandic, etc. I hear a fair few German cognates and a few from English.

With inZOI you can actually.... change the style of the game. If you like a cartoonish style, there is a cartoon option that will filter the game to look cartoonish. You missed it at @6:15. It comes with filters.
i mean its nice that its there but not really what people mean when they say "cartoonish" like the animation style and character models are a bigger part of it than the way its shaded.
Well it only changes the colors, right? The people still look hyperealistic
That filter is kinda lame, it doesn't look cartoony'. It looks like a bad 'cartoony' filter over a realistic game. A game that realistic can't really look stylized, even the cartoony' filter looks like 'Cartoony' going for realism.. A truly stylized game, take Minecraft for example which is basically cubeism, has all the assets in the world built for that cubist style. If you throw a cubeism filter on overwatch or Mario it wouldn't work because they each have uniquely stylized look that is a part of building all their assests. 'Cartoony' or any animated style isn't one thing or one look and you can't capture a chosen unique art style with a 'cartoony' filter.
I think its a filter for a screenshot, nothing more. But obviously won't know for sure until it's out.
That’s just to take screenshots
I completely agree with Kayla's take on competition. I absolutely dislike that people think one game coming out means it's going to "kill" the other game. Competition for games just means they can improve what they already have.
Sims is dead
@@sheadiggs9355 what activity girls like most online then
EA _could_ improve The Sims... or they would pull its plug once they deem it to be unprofitable in the short term to fix.
That's what happened with Sim City, after all; a mix of its disastrous release _and_ the success of a competitor (Cities: Skylines) made them kill it because they thought they could not fix it into profitability before the accounting year ended. Such a historic franchise and studio, snuffed out in one board meeting.
The same thing could happen to The Sims.

Might be a hot take but I love the cartoon style of the sims 4
Same!
I’m happy to find a comment like this! This game looks too realistic for me! If I wanted to see people who looked this real, I’d just go outside 😂
Same, I wouldn't have it any other way, The Sims 4 is turning 10 years old next year and it still looks good, The Sims 3 10 years after, aged poorly regarding how it looks.
Not such a hot take, I love the Sims 4 cartoony style! The style of this game is too realistic and reminds me of those bad raunchy games like House party on Steam 😭
Me too. It’s why I liked sims 2 and sims 4 but not sims 3, I always thought sims 3 sims looked really weird
So far paralives has been the game I see myself playing. Life By You has potential but doesn’t really hit me the same way paralives did. I agree with Simsie, the cartoony style appeals to me more. I’m not a fan of realistic faces. But a lot of sims players use alpha custom content to make realistic sims and I think it’s awesome… just not for me.
totally! and also just the fact that paralives is not from a big company, being an indie game makes sooo much diference because from the start we already know that Paralives is not something being done to extract money from us, its a genuine game created by people who love the sims and just want to make their own version of the same concept. i love seeing the development of the game over the years, Paralives just feels very personal to me right now, even though it hasnt been released yet hahahah sooo, games like Life by You, and now Inzoi, who are super realistic and come out of nowhere... they just dont really appeal to me at all. especially considering that PubG is a game fullllll of microtransations, and the chances of Inzoi being like that too are very high lol
I got used to the cartoon style thanks to sims 4 and I loved the sims 3 design, I’ll prob buy LBY but it has similar style to inzoi
Feels like simsie was extra critical on Inzoi unlike how she is with sims or new sims content but I can’t blame her for wanting to stay loyal to the sims
But it was kinda killing me how she was ignoring the the cartoon feature and that sims is still very “binary” and I don’t see any changes come on that for the sims
Kayla bringing up the binary system and criticizing it is so genuinely important and also I can’t stop laughing bc I, a trans person, literally never would have thought of that on my own LOL thanks simsie
that’s what i love most about her, she’s so respectful about everything and as a trans person myself, it’s great to see someone respecting us for who we are (if you like her, you should check out caryn and connie, they’re great too!)
Lmao I read your comment before that section of the video came up and I was really confused what the binary system (the 10101110s that computers "speak") has to do with a life sim and how it is bad 😂. On a serious note, though. I also wouldn't have thought about it by just watching a trailer, and I love that she brought that up, to a point where she said she's not really interested in a game if it doesn't have less/non-binary options. I wonder whether the fact that the game seems to be Korean will play a role in that (Idk what the situation of non-cis people looks like over there).
@@Kasiarzynka haha I thought about that while typing it too!! Couldn’t come up with a better phrase tho

I'm really curious about inZOI, but it worries me that they had to send high-end gaming laptops to the influencers who playtested it. I get that it's still in development and likely doesn't have a way to change the settings yet, but that also makes me think... is it even going to look as good on low settings? I also haven't seen much about the gameplay that doesn't feel a bit shallow in its current state, and I worry about how they plan to approach things like monetization and whether or not it will be particularly supportive of mods and CC.
Ease of implementing mods and CC are things we kind of assume will be standard and have been openly supported by a lot of the titles we've seen so far, but the inZOI director did mention not really worrying too much about industry standards since... well... that's basically just the sims right now.
I'm just very all around interested to learn more, we don't really have a lot of English language publicity from Krafton right now. I think they're more focused on their Korean audience right now with G-Star going on (which is totally fair), but I'm very curious what they have to say when they start opening up more to their international audience. I'll absolutely try it when it comes out, but I think I'll still prefer where Life By You and Paralives are headed.
Neither of the reviews that I watched mentioned being sent gaming laptops, so I am genuinely so grateful for this comment, because I had no idea. I see now why that’s so concerning.
@@poppycartergraphics120 To be fair, I may be over-generalizing as I've only seen two who have confirmed this, though it's possible the simmers who didn't receive them just didn't need a higher powered PC.
HiEmmaNicole mentions getting one in her video, and acottonsock confirms receiving was as well. acottonsock specifically mentions that it was a PC with a 4070, i5, and 64gb ram, so it's a pretty beefy PC. They do get to keep them though, which is a nice touch, it's just a little alarming.
It will require a pretty good PC, the requirements are out now. My (pretty good) gaming PC just about meets the recommended ones, thankfully, but I still do have concerns about how it will run. I guess that's just the trauma from the Sims 4 and its performance issues speaking though LOL. It looks pretty well optimized from what I've seen.

The way she gives the gift to the sim is actually not awkward at all, Koreans hand over gifts with both hands and a slight bow, same with when they pay with cash and they shake hands
I think she meant the smoothness of the animation was awkward, not the action being done specifically
westerners™️
@@theekatspajamas You mean the smoothness compared to The Sims 4?? The graphics here are considerably more well done than The Sims 4. Much more naturally rendered (and I mean the animations and movements, not the graphics or graphic style). I play a LOT of different games in a LOT of different genres, and I also live in Korea - this is exactly how Korean people move - the body language in the animation is amazingly lifelike!
As yasminchan said, the giving of gifts is strictly two-handed in Korea, as is the receiving of gifts. The real thing in Korea also looks awkward to a foreigner who sees it for the first time - it was that way for me too! Korea is going to put their own culture into the game just as the western culture of one-handed giving is put in by western cultures. It's actually a lovely culture, because when gifts are given and received, it's a very different experience - giving with two hands feels a lot more deliberate and heart-felt, as is receiving a gift with two hands. One handed feels more...off-handed, less caring, less feeling-involved to me in comparison, because two hands requires full attention to the person you're gifting, and two handed receiving likewise.
I feel like the awkward part she was talking about was the reaction from the other person with the hands up lmao?? The person giving the gift looked fine it was the awkward reaction that stood out to me personally

I do think that healthy competition to the Sims is WAAAAAAAAY long overdue, and I personally hope games like inZOI and Paralives not only actually come out, but that they're GOOD. I want to see people enter the life sim genre of games and enjoy them, so that the genre gets more attention and more companies bring us these types of games. Like you said simsie, there definitely is some major concerns I have with what was shown in this trailer- the binary man/woman system just makes me, a non-binary person, sad to see. And on top of that, as an artist, seeing that there is an AI generator thing in the game for the artwork worries me so much. It's already tough getting into gaming design and all of that, but to see games accept and use AI to replace artists creating things for their games just rubs me in the entirely wrong way.
I 100% agree with you on everything (side note: also a non binary person really opposed to AI for stealing art)

@@OstoTheCyani am also on team “enbys against AI art,” psyched to meet my brethren
I think something to note is that inZOI is created by a South Korean company, so it will probably be more conservative and have less diversity
@@mzndyy absolutely true. and if they’re aiming to market to primarily a South Korean market that tends to skew more conservative, than less diversity maybe makes sense. i’d be interested to hear other nonbinary and trans folks takes, but my first thought is that the devs have every right to make a game that caters to a more conservative market, just like consumers have every right to not like a game because of a lack of diversity. personally i feel less “this game is inherently flawed or evil because it doesn’t include these options” and more “the lack of these options tells me that this game is probably not for me, which is a bit disappointing because i had hoped it would be for me”
I feel like the big struggle for this is going to be kinda similar to early Sims 4. In the beginning the big Sims 4 criticism was that it was the Young Adult simulator since it was so narrow in scope and for this game I think it's going to be South Korean simulator. The features, the skin tones, the limited gender options-- I think once the game comes out we're going to find the scope pretty narrow.
And maybe it will outgrow that criticism with time or maybe it will stay more niche and focus on just the South Korean experience. Neither would be a negative thing. I just think that it won't be a real competitor to the Sims which is really about the breadth of many different types of lives whereas this seems to be a bit lore depth into one specific kind of life.
I think the 'competition' and bring a competitor isn't about stealing their whole market, it's getting some of their market. Some people REALLY want realism...me 'meh'. But Alpha CC style simmers are gonna flock to and live this and if they find their game, honestly not mad at it. I don't think competition is about toppling EA, it's about players having choice.
A lot of simmers got to play test inzoi and gave the devs some feedback, and apparently a lot of them gave feedback about the skin tones (+ body diversity & hair textures) so I’m hoping there will be some improvement in that regard before release date. The devs are working on a Los Angeles based city as well, so I hope that means in the future there will be more types of places to live. I think you have some really great feedback, and I hope someone comes across it.
It's only been a year into development and an LA-like city is already in the works. I think your criticism is valid but it seems like they plan on adding a lot more before release, we just have to see if they actually can lol (but judging how things have gone so far I think it's quite possible)
That is actually a good point. I think that as the game currently is if I were to make a Zoi, it would stick out so much as if it's not originally part of that community. you know kind of like living in South Korea as a foreigner
Honestly with Kpop becoming bigger and bigger, I can imagine that a lot of people would also flock to this exactly for a South Korean experience simulator 😂
I really like this game's look, I just worry that my computer won't be able to handle it. I love realistic games but I hated Sims 3's execution of it, so I'm pretty excited.
A friend of mine's computer isn't that high can able to play! Otherwise.. try to upgrade a bit like extra memory ram and video card then all good to go!
Honestly, people think this game isn’t diverse enough but i was experimenting with the caz and i was able to make a large variety of zois of different backgrounds really easily!!!
The narrow gender options remind me a little of Animal Crossing. It wasn’t really discussed here, but there was also a lack of body diversity. Everything/everyone seemed to fit a narrow beauty standard. I think it will be hard pressed to compete with the Sims in that way, where you have access to more diversity, but maybe it’s going for a bit more of a “perfect life” type niche?
I think there are more types of hair and skin color but this game probably isn’t even close to finished soo they are probably adding more
its also a korean game, they arent that progressive on Gender Issues so we cant really expect a korean game to come with anything else than binary
I think you could go back to The Sims 4 base game before any update and see how it was. There are new societal expectations, but this is also the first game being developed by this company in the life sim genre. TS4 literally took YEARS to get there.
Comparing a game that is still learning as it goes with the Sims that has more than 20 years of know-how is insane to me.
Ooh, you're right! Everyone was tiny and basic or toned.
@@stillfangirlingtoday1468the difference is exactly that, the time frame. OF COURSE the Sims 4 didn't have that stuff on release because it was an entire decade ago and a different era. But this inzoi game is being made right now, in modern times, when nearly every single game has diversity in the character creation screen. There's no excuse for them not to, and they can't fake ignorance.
It was mentioned that overt realism in the game can date it. I found it interesting that the section where they are showing how you can *change* the realism in the game wasn't noticed, but other things were noticed at that point instead. It looks like the realism can be changed to the point where it looked in the video more like Paralives.
What I'm seeing in the game isn't all that interesting. I'm not nearly as interested in having work be the main feature as having family life be the main feature. While there were multiple life stages seen, it's not clear in the videos how that works. (Although, the RUclipsrs who have played the game do talk about how fast they can go from meeting someone in the game to having children, so family life is there but not featured in the video.)
I think the point of showing off work was that they wanted to show you ACTUALLY go to work and work. Unlike what happens on Sims where if you go to work for a normal job you just disappear and if you do an active job it's just like filling a random to-do list and that's it. Also, it's a Korean game where they have a heavier focus on work. That doesn't mean there's no family gameplay it's just not as interesting to show off. So essentially you're watching one trailer show off one part of a game and saying that's somehow the "main feature" of the game.
@@Eventide215 Their other postings have talked about how the job *is* the main feature. Your avatar is literally the employee of the game. I believe Lilsimsie even quoted about that from what they wrote.
@@junerussell6972In the game, you can get married and have a baby. I have seen it happen. You can also pursue a romantic relationship with someone of the same sex. Overall, the game is good, but it needs some more time to improve, maybe around three years.
She was too busy being upset that there’s no way to give male “sims” the female gender marker
@@evil_radfem9162 It seemed like she was quick to criticize the game without even giving it a chance. However, I really like her as a RUclipsr and believe that she is honest for the most part. While I understand that the graphics may not be everyone's cup of tea, I've grown to appreciate them over time. The use of pronouns may be something that is added later, but I still think that the game has a solid foundation.
I love that she called out the AI feature
Eh, this is one of the few cases where i think "AI" is just more convenient. Instead of having to Google a picture of a panda, save it, drop it in a certain folder, then open it up in game, you can just search it straight from the UI. I feel like its a natural progression for create-a-swatch type features to use AI to assist as opposed to some of the other AI tools trying to conpletely replace artistic or creative processes.
as someone who is usually against ai being used, this isn't even a bad usage of ai??
It's basically just a search tool. No real intelligence goes into it. :P
Why would it be a bad use of AI? 🤔@@someonethereQ
how is AI affecting anyone at all in this case

not sure what you wanted with the gender part. you can customize your male character to look feminine vice versa.
Because the concept of gender is problematic for most western influencer.... to them it's anti trans, so they cater to western standards....
The main exciting thing about inzoi is that it's open-world. I also really like the perspective we can follow our character from.
I'm really excited to see how this game develops
I’m actually so excited for this game!! I love this genre so much and this game looks so legit. I also like the they have sleep and energy because it makes it more realistic. I wonder if it has anything to do with like being drained from social interaction or overworking etc.
We've gotten to the point where Sims players are so dependent on the Sims 4 that a life-simulator game looking "realistic" is considered a bad thing.
Like in no other genre do we have people complaining because the people on screen... look like real people. xD
It’s there, just not very loud. I always dislike when characters look too human, it freaks me out a little bit. The games can’t capture the look of humanity entirely properly, but when they get this close, it looks strange.
it's just a preference. I also like the cartoonish style, somehow is more comforting. The fact that this game is more realistic doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be better, what matter the most is the gameplay. that's why the sims 2 is still popular even tough the graphics are not as good
I would rather pay a decent price for a fully functional game then be nickel nad dined to death. Ive been playing the sins since the original and ive spent thousands over the years on packs and dlc. I think EA/Maxis has gotten a bit lazy and greedy, so I welcome the competition. Everything ive seen after watching the alpha playthroughs has be super excited for this!
Her logic doesn't make sense to me. She didn't want to be sponsored by Inzoi, where she would have had more info, details, access to the game, a pc to run the game and would have been able to speak freely about it, as other creators who were sponsored said the reason the sent the game out was to get feedback as to what they can improve upon. Yet, she's perfectly fine with being a sponsor for EA/The Sims. Seems to me she has a clear bias, or maybe there is something in her contract where she can't be sponsored by other sim games, I don't know. But that through line of thinking doesn't flow when she has sponsored before and has given her "unbiased" and "freely spoken" reviews/words on products/games. Just my opinion on it.
I have seen other reviews and they look very scripted, you don't know what the terms they offered her were. She isn't sponsored or partnered with The Sims 4 in any way, she just collaborates with them occasionally and is still able to freely speak her mind (I've seen a lot of videos where she criticises The Sims and they still work with her). Really weird that you're painting her in a dishonest light...
To me, the game seems pretty promising, but also like it's trying to do too many things.
Also, I agree with Simsie, I'm not looking for a replacement so much as I want more of the genre
I don't think people want a "replacement" but instead actual competition. Even simmers realize that EA is milking them for everything they got because it's the only life sim really. We need things like Paralives, Life By You, and Inzoi to add to the competition and make EA have to lower their prices or change marketing strategy entirely (like making old packs just part of the base game and/or merging them with newer packs).
@@Eventide215 I absoluetly agree actually! I'm all for EA having more competition, and I'm really frustrated that because they haven't had strong competition, we've gotten worse products. I've just seen some people say stuff like "this game is gonna REPLACE the sims!" and I think that's a little silly, that's all
@@inkyaquariumPeople always say things like that and it always causes problems. That mentality of "if this new thing comes out it'll replace the old" is always a bad mentality to have. Like I've seen people say they refuse to play any other MMO other than WoW because in their mind if they'd play anything else it'd be "replacing" WoW and it'd be like a sin in their mind.
Having more life sims will only further the genre and help keep everyone balanced. Also, having different styles isn't a bad thing either. I personally like that they went the more realistic route but still kept some stylized look to it. Sims, Paralives, and Life By You already have that cartoon style going for them. I also like the idea of it being more realistic but Korean. It'd be fun to play a life Sim that is realistic and lets you experience that. The only downside I really see with the realistic style is they can't do anything fantastical like occult Sims. Well, they can, but it could make it weird.
It's Korean's game so sadly it's only gonna be binary system and It's not going to change. Their views on gender and sextuality is very conservative. Even the company wanted to do it, there will definatly be harsh backlash which i'm sure the company's not going to risk it.
There is no gender in the “CAS”. The “gender” section is titled as “type” and then you choose “type 1”, “type 2” etc
So it is possible that maybe in the final version of the game it will be more customizable but living in Korea myself, I do agree the whole game seems to scream “Korean standards!”
If you notice, anything slightly romance-related in the trailer is girl/boy. There's a hug between two guys, but it's definitely platonic.
i hope you realize this is a very silly take. the US is also very conservative in their views on gender and sexuality, not every american is. the same goes for south korea.
as for the backlash, do you not remember wedding stories? it was entirely banned in countries because it had a lesbian storyline. you cannot color an entire group's experience based on how you perceive their culture.
It's not that they're "conservative" It's that a vocal minority of Americans now push for all these gender and sexuality settings and act like if they're not included in a game suddenly it's offensive. That vocal minority of Americans have this way lately of acting like if something doesn't *instantly* conform to what you demand it's offensive, phobic, etc.
Also, it clearly says that this isn't indicative of the final product. This is all just to show off what they're working on. We may get it here we may not there's really no telling if/when. If we did get it here, there would be localization that happens which would very likely add in all the crap you people demand while also taking out some of the Korean style of the game most likely.
@Eventide215
I'm sorry, what?? this isn't a "vocal minority" POC and LGBTQ are very large part of the population and a life sim game by definition should include features that validate their existence because it's a LIFE SIM game. why are you even here considering kayla is someone in the "vocal minority" who make you so upset? what the hell does "korean style" even mean? a lack of trans people or black people? ??????? what????
I’ve been waiting for you, James, or deli to review this!!!!! You three are my favourite content creator simmers ❤️ it’s giving alpha sims 5 imo! 😮
The AI is cool. It allows you to create things that are unique. You’re able to upload images of items from your own home and it generates and creates a 3D in game version of the item to use in game. It’s amazing! This will surely change how we play these types of games.
I don’t think that matters really🤷♀️ 8:20
I can’t get over the fact that it’s only a year into production
As excited for this game I am, my computer would actually explode if I even tried running that
Ooohh I'm so happy you're making a video about this! I'm really curious about that game 👀
as a Harvest Moon player as a kid it's always super saddening to hear people say Stardew is the "original" of farming games which is 100% not true. ConcernedApe literally made Stardew because he missed playing Harvest Moon and Stardew is heavily inspired by Harvest Moon. I know Harvest Moon is not so popular in USA, but pleasee don't say something like Stardew is the original of farming game and smth like Stardew dupes because technically Stardew is also a Harvest Moon dupe.
"New life sim announced!"
me: yay!
"It's REALISTIC!"
ME: aaawn
And back to TS4 I go
I’m already getting the vibes that this game is not going to be inclusive; of gender, sexuality, skin tones, body types, everything. Which is unfortunate because I would love to have a realistic life sim like this be actually representative of real life!
Agreed. Especially from other games I've played from the east. I've never liked how they handle over sexualized women. Monetization, or queer rep
@@lucaleone4331The "East" is a really big sphere but I get what you mean. However I've got to say that a LOT of games from SEA are getting more LGBTQ+ inclusivity. Not to say society is that way. Sadly, the only countries in Asia wherein gays can even marry are Taiwan and Israel. HOWEVER, countries like Vietnam, Thailand (QUICKLY), Japan (sort of slowly), India (pretty slowly), and South Korea (pretty slowly) are actually getting a lot more queer-friendly legally. Even Singapore just decriminalised homosexuality recently! As visibility increases (and, I hate to say this but it's true, as the older, generally more conservative, generations die out) we can expect to see a lot better.
@@asaasa7900yea but what about cultures?i see everyone talking abt this but i want to see cultures in this game, but probably we will not see none of that.
well the company does have an inzoi discord you can put down suggestions, people already suggested modding so they may add it
right, i agree
This is obviously very early, but I am hyper worried about monetisation. Korean developers, like Krafton the makers of the game, often have very predatory microtransactions where the game sells you every single thing. Now, this isn’t anything that has to be the case, but it could be ridiculously expensive if we are unlucky. Then, we have all the AI stuff which could be really terrible and I worry that “sleep” and “energy” are separated in order to sell us “energy refills” like mobile games.
None of Krafton's single-player games have monetization of any kind.
@@Zanian19 which is a good sign, but I can’t see how you make a sims competitor with new content being released relatively often without some sort of monetisation.
@@MarcusTSMarcus It's made by a company that already has an insane cash flow. They aren't desperate to monetize anything too much.
I very much doubt it's going to be any worse than what the Sims have.
@@Zanian19 that is an odd argument in a capitalist society. Microsoft has a far better cash flow and monetised the hell out of Halo Infinite.
yeah, but they might decide "we havent needed microtransactions before, and it might harm our players opinion of the company and overall profits"@@MarcusTSMarcus
I love the realism idk why people don't. I get mods for the sims to make them look more realistic like this
It’s just a personal preference. Just like whether you like or dislike anything else.
Because it will look like creepy humanoids like Inzoi
I love it!
It doesnt look scary, it looks better. Sims was supposed to upgrade with time, the next step after sims 3 was supposed to look like this but they did the cash grab route instead. They charge us for everything that should have been in the base game, pools, toddlers, weather, ect. This game just has things we should have in a beautiful delivery. Idk y'all sound like you would back EA till the end while they reach in your pockets.
Exactly!!! Like I feel this is a PROPER sequel to sims 3
Totally agree! I'm pretty tired of the Sims. All those expansionpacks that costs us a fortune is so exhausting. The factt that they completely downgraded the game while we asked for exactly this is so disappointing. I don't even care for TS5 anymore. I'm even more excited for Paralives! But this is just next level, it's insane! I loooove how they made it realistically modern.
The Sims could've done it. All those years they had the market for themselves and they just didn't listen😅 kind of glad cus now they have competition so they'll do more for us. The competition has created more opportunities for us as players.
My concern with the hyper-realism is the graphics requirement and lower-end machines.... but I also know very little about it! I think I am in the minority - I am not actually that interested in alternative Life-Sim games. I am happy with the Sims, I would only bother to invest in anything else if I saw it in lets plays and saw that it was just as open-sandbox style. I also prefer rabbit-hole careers than following my sims to work all the time - I have other sims that I have goals for that I need to monitor!
This may be an unpopular opinion, but this is just not my cup of tea.. Waay too realistic and "messy" for me.🙈 Or maybe I'm just too old for this (I started playing when ts1 was released.😅)
But it's nice that ts4 is getting even more competition so perhaps they will now feel the need to really step up with more and better content in future packs.
That avatar they kept showing was Ryujin from Itzy. I can’t be convinced otherwise.
The big thing that'll make my mind up is how much of a money grab it'll be. EA is robbing people blind in their games and that's a turn off for me, so if Inzoi isn't as big as a money grab as EA, then I can see myself jumping ship
I'm so excited for this game. They've also said multiple times that they don't want to release the game half baked and I really appreciate that. The graphics are pretty, the world seems really interactive and customizable.
You can only create Men and Women... what else do you want? an alien? a hologram? a imaginary freind?
Facts 😂, I'm happy this game is binary ❤
I mean they too exist in Sims. Guys, really, it’s not just about lgbtq. It’s about creative freedom, even in terms of building. Lacking that is not something to defend. It’s not (just) about politics it’s about content.
the menus for customization don't really mention anything about gender from what i can understand ( mostly stuff about presets and expressions ) , but i can't say it would be surprising for a game based in south korea to be very binary . a lot of people in south korea are still pretty conservative and lgbt can't get married or have kids together , there's no kind of partnership thing similar to what japan has , and there have been soldiers who came out as trans and got booted out of their military . hopefully it does have that stuff , but given that there isn't very much good and healthy rep in the mainstream over there , it's probably not good to get your hopes up about it .
Same-sex couples can only be accurately represented if there are only 2 ✌️ options for sex
Ehhh, as someone who definitely would NOT fit into Korean beauty standards, I don’t think I’d enjoy a game that forces that on me. Notice they all have similar body types, and the only body adjustment we saw was the masculine sim getting more muscles, but just as an overlay, not a shift in size. And you noticed different heights, but it looks to me like all the women are short and the men are tall. One of the primary reasons Sims doesn’t have that is so all the interactions work no matter the gender of the Sims. But seeing that, I would bet that there are not romantic interactions between Sims with the same gender frame.
I would be surprised if this actually takes off. It looks pretty, but I think it might be a very pretty Korean job simulator, not a proper Sims competitor.
Good point
I think there's a romantic interaction between 2 male characters on 7:08, though I'm not sure
Well I got your point but it’s still development😊
The city that's showcased in the trailer is Korean. It's based on Seoul. Other cities will be western etc.
The character creator also have weight sliders. Although there is an issue atm with clothing clipping ever so slightly if you make them too wide.
Girl it being realistic as possible is amazing, I am so excited for this game to come out, that just means that the customization is going to be absolutely amazing!!!! I have been waiting for a super realistic game like this to come out, and I can't wait.
id love to see a life sim that isnt just a happiness simulator. most life sims just dont really have challenges people face in the real world and tend to get quite boring after a while.
The ai thing honestly doesn't alarm me at all, because it seems to just be taking stock photos sorta, of real pandas in that one example. Not Ai "art"
I'm so excited for this game, the visuals are stunning and the vibe is spot on, hopefully it can be played on lower specs and still look decent as well as more customization for characters. I also hope they implement meaningful and intricate gameplay so the characters and world feel alive and vibrant, unlike the sims 4 which feels so empty and restricted.
LOVE the game! Sims is now go bye bye when inZOI is up and running!
Yeah I'm concerned about the diversity (gender, body, hair, etc.) and the graphics style being super greedy (and not able to be run on even mid-range PCs). But I hope it gets to work out some of the quirks in early access!
One issue this game may run into is being playable on a range of computers. The Sims 4's low poly count and stylization is important for optimization - it'll be a challenge for older or less robust computers to run such a graphics-heavy game well.
My issue with new life sim games is that I feel like players have such high expectations bc they want a game to “replace” the sims, but don’t realize in doing that they’re setting these games and game devs up for failure. EA and the sims as a franchise is worth billions of dollars. I don’t thinks it’s fair that we always try and create competition between a billion dollar company and indie game devs who just want to make a cool life sim.
Not only worth billions but also put in the footwork and essentially laid out the blueprint for life sim games. Which each game (debatable for some) improved and enhanced mechanics with TIME something now anyone who wants compete doesn’t have. I also DO believe the standards will be set extremely high due to the ones preset by The Sims. People act like Sims isn’t that girl but she is lol. Like when this game releases yes it will look beautiful but will probably LACK a lot. And if ANYONE wants to compete with sims they better have a stronger relationship system/mechanic. If they can provide in storytelling and gameplay what sims lacks I could see it doing well but not with a diversely large player base such as the sims.
Asian culture is still very different from others; I wouldn't necessarily expect non-binary and other options in their games but that doesn't mean the game itself can't still be amazing in terms of gameplay and such!
So glad I’m not the only one who thinks it looks a little scary 😂😂
The good thing about this game is, its literally made for everyone's taste, you can change the graphics to make it more cartoony, so the people who want realistic don't have to be forced to only endure unrealistic cartoony characters. Pointless to talk about the way it looks when you can turn the game how you want.
@@citrusbutter7718 sadly I don’t think you’ll have that much custom space. In the sims before the gender update you still had really big change for bodies and ethnicity but that one I don’t think it will be inclusive
@@citrusbutter7718 like the marketing now is showing inclusive growth and for that game there’s only asians
It's a life simulation game so the characters should look like real people not a cartoon...plus it's 2024 and graphics have come a long way since the beginning of the sims franchise. The realism is what I prefer and its somewhat lacking in the sims 4 games unless I download mods. This game seems like it will fit my personal esthetic preferences.
7:45 you said that you feel that the sims 4 doesn't age as baf because it's cartoonish but as an avid sims plasyer since sims 2, I feel as though sims 4 was disgustingly cartoonish since it's release. As an avid buyer of packs, as an avid player, I would love for a sims 4 upgrade beyond my thinking capabiility. I have only6 just seen Inzoi, and I love it. I wish the sims franchise would do better for themselves. I hope for the best, and am most excited, for our new sim competition. sim, "life simulator", it'll be different getting used to the new "sim" world 2024 and beyond... and I'm completely and totallyt here for it :D
There is much more anger towards realistic graphics for some reason. There can be a million first person shooter games but simulation games must not deviate from the Sims.
Funny that so many people mod their Sims to look more realistic lol. I think it also has to do with people not being used to other life sim games since EA pretty much dominates in that genre. People are too comfortable taking what EA gives them and they refuse to try something different.
simmers are the most brainwashed gamer cult ever
Realistic looking world and objects is amazing, but realistic looking humans is kinda scary I'm with you on that one. It changes the context of playing a game like this when the sim actually looks exactly like someone you'd meet on the street- the cartoonification that the sims takes helps to remind you that it's just a game and makes it fun. But it seems like overall this game is going for hyper realism, and from the looks of it they're knocking it out the park. I'm not sure if it's for me as I tend to stay away from the active careers in TS4
You should have taken that sponsorship. They give you freedom on what you can say because at the end of the day, criticism is needed so the game can be improved upon for the finale release. And yh they sponsored another creator and they just told her to do an honest review video.
I really thought it was a shame that she turned down such a great opportunity. Especially since the release date of the game is still undetermined, who knows if she'll ever get to experience it fully. You're also correct about another content creator (Acottonsock) being given the same chance and actually accepting it, with the sponsor being open to any critiques and suggestions. I don't understand why she made it seem like taking on that sponsorship would restrict her from fully expressing her opinion.
This definitely "promises" too much and I think it will be very impractical. Just see how realistic it all looks. Hardly any equipment can cope with such a huge amount of details. The only thing that can be said about this "game" is that they presented everything that everyone would want it to have, and that seems impossible. Character creation is very formulaic and each character looks the same, which shows how limited Korean standards are. Everyone is delighted mainly because they take into account visual rather than technical/practical considerations. I don't know what to think about it. I only see negatives so far.
I agree with your statement that hyper realistic games can often age badly, that is also why I personally like more stylized games like the Sims have been.
This game LOOKS really good, but a few pointers I would be worried about:
The graphics are AMAZING, so will many "cheap laptops" be able to handle them?
The game looks to be focusing on young adults even though we do see children, I only saw young adults interact, dance and work, interactions also need to be made specifically for other age groups for them to feel more real, and my worry could be that this maybe focus a little to much on one generation.
Sims is about creating and having fun with all stages of life, it can have cartoony element because its not hyper realistic - this game seems to focus on the real world, hyper realism, and being in your prime years, which is nice! but personally not something I would be looking for - also, we all know what kind of mods this game is going to get..
The game look nice, I would definitely be taking a look, but it does seem very sterile, very architect program with a sims element, this game needs more to impress me.
Boy you're trying so hard to make it look bad.
You are so real for telling us you declined the sponsorship to have a more unbiased opinion:) thank you😎
I'm super excited about this game. I've been playing the sims since I was in elementary school, and I'm 36 now. I it just kind of seemed like you were super biased on this game. I don't know.
the binary system and slim options will stay as they are Korean and it is in line with their customs and beliefs. nothing wrong with it at all
I agree, i believe there's nothing wrong with it all.

i love the interactive working, when your sim is at work and you only have 1 you cant really do anything till they get back, so i like that
I feel like games like this are the most fun when you can pretend to be somebody you're not (like a roleplaying or VR game), instead of being in charge of lots of different people.
To give some context, though, Sims players have been angry for years at EA’s business practices and the fact they churn out overpriced broken packs they barely bother to fix. It’s their overall attitude towards the consumer and the sleezy way they break down related features into multiple packs to rake in more cash. So having these other companies coming out with similar games is getting people excited for not only stiffer competition for the Sims team but a potential for retribution for the greed and carelessness EA has been enjoying for years. This is why everyone would be happy to see the Sims get eclipsed by these other games.
I think a lot of us simmers have been wanting a competitor just on the basis that we cant afford 1k for all of the expansions and whatnots .
Give me a reboot of sims2 with all the bells and whistles we used to enjoy at a base price with neuvo graphics and I'd be down.
Ive played since sim city before 1 was released and love the game but come on. Nobody can actually afford the new sims games if they work a normal job any more.
I've had hundreds of hours playing minecraft and stardew valley for... 15 dollars? Plus updates that we don't get nickle and dimed for.
One thing to think about though is that the game is Korean and Korea is very homogenous so its rare to find inclusivity in these types of games
I think our eyes will get used to it quick after playing it. I also hope they offer more diversity!
It reminds me of really high quality CC or an RPG, so the hyper realism doesn’t really bother me. However, something seems off…but I’m not sure what it is… I’d give it a chance if they implemented the tweaks you mentioned and addressed what that AI means 👀 If it actually comes out 🤷🏽♀️
Seems like it's just an in-game search engine that utilizes AI to find things easier. If it wasn't AI, it would just use the keywords "Cute" and "Panda" and give you options that have those words in the title or description (This is how the Sims 4 search bar works), but an AI search engine will actually register what you are saying and look for 'cute pandas', ideally making the results more accurate.
@@brandonj7586I think it is generative AI, so it actually makes up the cute panda, and then you can customize the pattern.
@@ΙάσοναςΑλιφέρης-χ7ξ I understand they they thought it would be easier, since I don't think they want to take images from Google. I'm conflicted though.
