@@Aonulika444 Because monopolies are not beneficial to consumers, and it leads to little to no innovation. EA has a very big monopoly on the life simulation genre, that is why they are able to have a game that keeps breaking after each dlc (and is 10 years old and not going to be retired), and still have customers because players have fewer alternatives in said genre.
Best possible gameplay: Life by You Best graphics: Inzoi Most 'balanced' game: Paralives A fully functional multiplayer Sim game: Vivaland Most 'Sus' game: Project Renee
The problem with Inzoi is that having the most ultra realistic graphics, their character animations is kind of slow/stiff and awkward, the mismatch is creating a scary uncanny valley effect
I'm sorry I think life by you might too be too much when it comes to open mindedness and controlling everything with the mods but I wanna try to but those graphics gotta look a little better
Totally agree with your summary at the end. I'm really happy for sloppy Sims to get some competition. I love building, but I've pretty much given up on playing, because it's super frustrating. Maybe this will push them to give us something better or get alternatives to the Sims to play, for less money.
I’m most excited for paralives as well but I’m glad so many are coming out and I hope they all do really well just bc I’m sick of The Sims having the monopoly on life simulation games.
I'm hoping we get a huge life sim boom like the metroidvania genre has gotten. The more life sims we get, the more competition there will be to stand out and make the game that players will want to buy, basically forcing the Sims to do better or otherwise get left in the dust.
Paralives is the only one I know I will try for sure, those guys have done an incredible job from the start, and it looks amazing. Will probably try life by you too, but we'll se.
@@distorteddivine3638 Several genres have gotten a big boost in the past decade and, as Satch said, since the pandemic lockdowns. :D Space games, milsim games, colony sim games, etc. I've seen AAA racing game content creators complaining about the "death of racing games", but similar to the Sims scene, there have been some really good racing/driving games from new or small studios. I think just as with music publishers, Internet democratization and automation tools for software dev is starting to hit AAA game publishers now that they've min-maxed their revenue extraction from their exhausted player base.
I personally feel like Life by you will give me what I loved in Sims 3 and potentially build up on it. I mean the art style will hopefully be improved upon during early access but I think gameplay and content wise I'll love it. Also I'm supporting Paralives since 2019 on Patreon and it looks like a great cozy game I'm looking forward to aswell. 🎉
As i said early, i'm an animator in the game company (ofc not that one) and i can ensure that this is no reason to make bad art and animation and then improve. These things you can't improve. They should be re-done. People who made it have no idea how to make characters and animate.
Considering the disastrous launch of Cities Skylines 2 by Paradox with the first expansion being the worst reviewed game ever on Steam, I’m going to now assume Life by You will be terrible, unfortunately
@@bartlett2335 I'm quite sure it's a different Team for LBY so I'm hopeful. Also Rod Humble being a Part of it gives me good vibes👉🏼👈🏼 But we will see. What I've seen by now (especially world editing) gets me hyped 💯
OMG YESSSS. I’m crazy on world building and character creation/customization. Seeing how advanced they make their cities simulation games makes me excited to what they have in store for a life simulation game. I think they would benefit in extending their target audience to TS3 fans and advanced players (those that like to create maybe world building, character customization, modders, CC makers, multi-generational family/lineage players, etc)
@@MayannHanna Yeah. I think the game had a lot of potential. I really liked a lot of the concepts that they showed with the trailer. My guess is they realized it was going to take a lot more time and money to make the game than they were willing to invest, and essentially all they were working with was an overly ambitious sandbox but no real direction aside from "it's better than The Sims and it's reeeally moddable!"
hopefully these games change the way EA handles Sims. Paradox made Cities Skylines and that ended Sim City and It had other issues too. One common thing among these games mostly is fully open world. The Sims 4 has so many loading screens it makes me think which game has more loading screens Sims 4 or Starfield.
EA is EA, that company will never change. They will milk the Sims franchise until it's no longer profitablea and they will abandon it... Just like with City Skylines
Paradox also made Cities Skylines 2 this year which had a launch that was more of a disaster than SimCity 2013 and the first cities skylines 2 expansion was the worst rated game ever on steam. So I wouldn’t trust Paradox these days considering the mess that was cities skylines 2, unfortunately lol
That will never happen haha, FIFA, now EAFC gives EA over a billion dollars every year, EAFC24made EA $1.71b so far, its released every September, and even with that much money and the amount of players they have spending money on packs and what not they still cant make a proper game. If you dont play online, you literally have to wait for at least a couple of months for them to fix bugs from launch day! And same happens with Madden and other EA franchises, The Sims is nowhere near making EA that much money, so if they dont care about their main cash cows imagine the other games, EA is an absolute disgrace
I love that you are able to follow them everywhere with inzoi, i tend to play with single sim households, so i really don’t like rabbitholes, i want to follow them to work or wherever
I'm most excited for Inzoi and Paralives. I'm a sucker for visuals, and I love how the people in both Inzoi and Paralives look. I can't get myself attached to the Life by You people YET, but that could very well change. I'm excited for all of these simulation games, either way. I need more to play with lol
Paralives is what I'm looking forward to the most. Sure, it has the least "realistic" art style compared to the other two, but it just sits well with me. Second goes to Life by You, although Paradox is starting to show cracks. InZOI's graphics are incredible, but I don't think its style is what I'm looking forward to in a life sim, and its world being fixed is kinda a deal-breaker for me - if Sims 3 doesn't exist, I would probably be interested in it.
@@andremedeiros2181 See what Paradox did with Cities Skylines 2. They are probably going to push and rush this one too.. and the DLC is going to be just as bad as what EA puts out.
@@dibel3669 They are calling it early access though. Which is a first for Paradox. They probably should have done the same for Victoria 3, their games have always gone through huge re-designs after release, like Stellaris or Imperator where they basically re-designed the entire foundations for the games after a year or two. Personally I'm hoping this will start a trend with them trying out their games in early access, and actually *calling it* early access, because it's what they have been doing for years now anyway. CS2 is a bit different as it wasn't developed by Paradox, although I'm going to assume it was they who hurried it out of the door. Their publishing branch have made a lot of mistakes, historically. CS was their golden hen, their greatest success, and they kind of killed it with the state of CS2. :/
Dude, Inzoi reminds me of if Rockstar Games made a life simulator. Which I never understood why they haven’t done. Premade worlds and houses like GTA or red dead, but completely customizable characters and furniture
Considering that Rock* recently bought FiveM, there's some speculation in the GTA community that Rock* have their sights set on making the RP (roleplay life) server aspect of GTA something more established in the future. Whether that's merely a big honking studio milking tired old GTA V and GTAO for more cash, or incorporating RP life type gameplay into GTA 6 from the start, who knows?
Rockstar makes highly narrative games like GTA series, RDR, Bully etc. Simulating life is whole another story where the narrative isn't planted by Rockstar, but created on-the-fly by each player's individual experience with the game. I think a game company like Bethesda has more of a shot at creating a life sim than Rockstar.
I think we should look forward to each of the new games. They all have a slightly different twist. So there should be something for everyone. Who would have thought 1-2 years ago that the Life Sim genre would no longer just be dominated by EA/Sims so soon?
I agree. This pitting one against the other does not sit well with me. Ill support them all. Just not anything Maxis related. Cant do it no more. Cant believe the amount of money I have spent on fake promises.
I think Life by you emphasize more on the gameplay than graphics which is fair. Like people always say they love Sims 2 because of gameplay and they are still playing it instead of S4. If the game have options and operate smoothly I have no complaints.
the sims 2 have the best animations of the series and the most fun sims of all games. have a good history. life by you will born needing a full replace of the game, clothes, hair, skin, eyes, furniture, all garbage and the animations looks a glitch.
Maybe I am bias, but I think Sims 2 graphics and animations were also adorable. So with Sims 2, I never felt like I was giving up graphics for gameplay. Especially in the context of year of release and what games generally looked like at that point. Tho honestly, I think some of the detail graphics still hold up now. Sims 4 small objects detail kinda sucked early on and have only gotten moderately better with time. But some basegame objects next to ones from more recent packs look horedous by comparison. Where as Sims 2 objects blend well and all seem grounded in the same world and reality giving them tonal consistency. And that’s what good graphics are to me, nothing feels out of place and all seems properly balanced and set in the same reality…whatever that reality is (Like I don’t expect Paralives to look like InZoi or visa versa). Its not about an attractive scale. More about a balanced grounding across the game as a base product.
I sometimes feel like I'm the only one that's excited with Life By You. I don't know why more people aren't more hyped for it like the others. I'm in between Life By You and Inzoi, the gameplay will determine which one I get.
@@mykpoplevelusetobeobsessio9577 I'm actually not really sure about inzoi. From experience with Asian games they always keep interesting things behind pay wall. If its nothing like Japanese or Chinese games then I'm hyped too.
@@mykpoplevelusetobeobsessio9577 I'm excited about it too, but I feel like alot of people don't like LBY because the visuals still need alot of work for the humans (the environment is probably the best one I've seen so far, especially with the trees). And then others are just thrown off by it being so moddable to the point where they think it's more like a life sim creator than an actual life sim. And maybe it is, but that's also why I'm most excited for it. I want a sandbox to create my dream life sims in rather than following someone else's precontrived formula based on what they think a life sim should have. I need all the options to make it my own.
Life by You is the biggest life sim ever made and it shows. Nothing is faked or uses props. All made using the tools they give you PLUS they have exposed the gameplay so we can change it our way. I loved TS3, LBY is my vibe. < 1 month to play cant wait!
i feel that too, because of sims 3 but the animations scared me. lby is on development for so much time and the game looks lass polish than all the others one. the dlc of this game gonna be a joke but not funny.
@@zhaiverso My guess for why animation looks so rough right now is because they still haven't done nailing down how characters look yet. (While all other games have already nailed down their aesthetics & designs) Animations have to fit with the model, and if the model change too much the animation have to be redone.
@@NopWorks That's not really how it works.. There is no need to make bad animation instead of good one. I can tell as an animator - what they show is unfixable. It is a huge work of redoing animations there, and they will have to redo from scratch. And there is no way that they keep the characters as T-rexes just for fun. Seems that they just don't have real artists and animators and the whole visuals are done by 14yo kid.
@@dashka-s-kosi4kami Thank you, the animations look disastrous, and I often feel like I'm one of the rare people to see it haha They're not appealing at all, which is a shame for a game genre that relies heavily on players having fun watching characters do stuff
I'm really excited for LBY! I have really high hopes for the gameplay and so far what I've seen is mostly right up my alley gameplay wise. I agree that the character models still need a bit of work but they dont look inherently digusting and unfixable as some people claim, it is something they are aware of and keep asking us for detailed feedback on the models! So as long as they show progress with them I'm 100% fine with the current state, particularly since it's only an early access release and not full release. I'm also in love with how transparent they've been with their plans, bugs and so on
@@oceanegougeon3025disagree. Any game need feedback to improve. The fact they can admit their weak points and seek ways to improve with feedback show they care and want to make the game better. Feedback is the most important thing when you get the right one, in art, writing and games. If you can see your weak points you can fix it with feedback. The opposite if you don't admit you have a problem in game and don't want to listen to feedback, sims 4, then you can never improve.
As a lover of good visual and gameplay, I'm mega-hyped for Paralives and InZoi! They both look SO so good (not just visually speaking). I'm cautiously optimistic for Life By You. The devs are putting their all into the game mechanics, which I applaud them for. However, the character appearances (rigging included) feel off- And no, this isn't just a case of, "Oh that's how they were edited to look!" I'm talking about what's going on "under the hood." Messy weight painting that's causing obvious deformation problems, and the over-dialed SSS especially on darker skin that makes them look like TES: Oblivion characters. If they fix the character issues, then I'll definitely add it to my cart.
I feel like life by you has a lot of potential, I’m definitely hesitant about inzoi being an ambitious title that doesn’t end up pulling through, but honestly at this point any game that’ll get EA to get their heads out of their asses I’ll support it
I totally agree with you when you said, if Life by You was made more cartoony, I think it would be its saviour. At the moment I don't think it will stand a chance against Inzoi. And the people who aren't able to run Inzoi, but want more freedom to be creative would turn to Life by you. I think they should revamp it and create their own niche, go full Disney or Pixel in style, it would run so much better and appeal to a lot of people.
I am obsessed with inzoi already a huge factor for me in a game is art style I hate alpha cc in the sims 4 but I saw the trailer for inzoi and my jaw dropped and I fell in love I'm so hyped I love character customization I spend most of my time on the sims in CAS the zois just look so pristine I love the ability to customize clothes outside of swatches and being able to layer clothing Paralives took me a second to get into but now I'm super excited and I enjoy keeping up with updates it looks like my next favorite cozy game Life by you doesnt interest me like the other two the style just doesnt appeal to me but I fully plan on giving it a chance
I really like how there's a new life sim game made for every kind of simmers. Paralives, Life by You, InZoi, and Vivaland. They're all distinct from each others & has their own strengths and selling point. It's like each game have picked out each niche among life simmers, and I feel like there's going to not be much left for EA/Project Rene 😂 😂
LBY's got the realisim, InZoi's got the city play, Paralive's got the cozy/small town play, Vivaland's got the multiplayer aspect. Now we just need a life sim that focuses purely on supernatural characters with unique special abilities and a ghost hunting career option, then the Sims will be screwed lol!
@distorteddivine3638 As a occult simmer who never likes to have even single one normal sim in family, yes I think we need to have another type of life simulation game for us, cause all of those mentioned above didn't seem to have any occult gameplay implemented. I would be extatic to see that kinda type of game. Definitely would be my favourite. Until then, I think I would stick to the Sims for better or worse.
@@distorteddivine3638 If you're used to AAA closed ecosystem games like EA, then I hope some of these indie life sim games will pleasantly surprise you. Typically, indie studios engage with and heavily rely on their active community to create mods that flesh out their game for content. On one hand, you do get some people complaining that the indie studios are getting mostly free labor and content for "community recognition" and "exposure". On the other hand, some studios eventually contract or hire the best mods. On the third hand, many indie games' mod ecosystems have produced every single "most desired" or best practices mod that the most active players can think of. Project Zomboid, Rimworld, and Space Engineers all have toooons of quality of life mods, game mechanics rebalancing mods, etc that tweak, refine, expand, fix, or improve some aspect of the game. After 100,000s of combined hours of play time, you can see which changes float to the top for popularity. And eventually some of them get incorporated into the base game. And of course, content addition or overhaul mods like occult/supernatural stuff also happen. Nothing's ever guaranteed with mods and individual players/mod creators, but almost everything conceivable will probably have someone try to mod it at some point. :D
I'm buying Life By You in 3 weeks because it is fully customizable. I can build my worlds from scratch and connect them as well. I can place buildings wherever I want in the world, including building true row houses. I can create whatever jobs I want my characters to have and delete the ones I don't want in my world. I customize the townie population down to the smallest details including their hair color, skin color, ages, traits, and likes and dislikes. I can decide store hours, create ingame "quests" for them to do autonomously, ride around on cars, bikes, motorcycles, skateboards, and ATVs. Go shopping for food and clothing in actual stores again, and build with actual 3D moulding on walls. This level of customization will give me long lasting gameplay that extends far beyond the simple joy of looking at something pretty on the screen. Sims 4 gave me pretty graphics in a pretty world, but everything was just set dressing. I can't go back to that which is why LBY is my top choice and Paralives is my second choice. Although I really hope someone makes a graphics overhaul for the paras to make them look closer to the earlier versions of Maggie and Sebastian.
You won't be getting LbY anytime soon. Paradox has decided to postpone the early access date with no eta at the moment. I'm betting it will be late Q3 or Q4 at this point. Paradox has been getting a lot of criticism over premature releases lately and they appear to be trying really hard to fix that.
For paralives. I think the DLC may be free as updates... like, it won't be dlc but literally updates. They could add a for sale item or outfit on their release birthday... that way they can keep their dlc/updates free and still sell something new once a year.
They're a small team with no shareholders to feed. They don't need paid DLC (and they already got paid for their job thanks to Patreon), they explained it
@@oceanegougeon3025 True, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve a little extra if they can get it. They're not cashgrabby, so I think a yearly item that can be bought as a way to support more would help and be a nice way to say 'thank you' as well.
@Dao_Tui Oh god no... If people want to support them, they can just support their patreon they don't need to put a single outfit behind a paywall let alone a limited time one, why do you want yearly limited time cosmetic DLCs anyway? I have never seen any other gamer want yearly limited time cosmetic DLCs in my life. It doesn't make any sense to me... Every other gamer is against greedy tactics in the gaming industry, not for it.
@@troll4life662 Sure, but it is not forced upon people like EA does. Supporting patreon, of course,... but just a tiny extra for those who want to support only once or something won't be bad. Only 1 small thing a year is not cash grabby at all. Don't forget that patreon requires visa and not everyone has that.
@@troll4life662it wouldn’t be cash grabby, it would be similar to receiving a pin that says “I donated to xxx”, or some other trinkets when you contribute towards something. It’s not about buying the pin/trinket, it’s still about the donation, but it gives the donator recognition. A small DLC item in exchange for a yearly contribution isn’t a bad way for both parties to say thank you and recognize each other. And for the people that like to be able to show off that they’re contributing something, the DLC item is a way for them to say “hey look, I have the thing that proves I helped”. Should that be necessary? No, but it doesn’t hurt anyone and is essentially a win-win situation. It is no where near the same as paywall blocking playable features and/or items that can affect gameplay. Especially in games that are supposed to be highly customizable anyways, so people are free to just recreate the items for free if they really want to.
I am most excited for Inzoi and then LBY. Paralives looks ok but limited, like small groups of people, few job options ect. Probably a big contrast two the other games. LBY looks like the Sims game everyone was hoping for before Sims 4 came out and I’m for it
I'm genuinely curious if one of these games becoming successful will cause EA to abandon the Sims like they did with SimCity when Cities: Skylines took off.
Oh almost inevitably. The fact that one of them is made by the very same Developer and published with the same Publisher is probably giving people at Maxis panic attacks.
Considering how much of a buggy mess/cash cow/microtransaction-infested scam the Sims franchise has spiralled into, I am not going to feel sad if EA abandons it.
Life By You looks like a direct competitor to Sims. Paralives has an aesthetic of Borderlands, but obviously in a life sim game. And Inzoi looks like its own beast. Im keen for all 3 for different reasons. I agree with you that Inzoi may be difficult for low-mid budget pcs to run. Whereas the other two i dont think will have this problem. But i am most excited for Inzoi as it looks like it has the most refined attention to detail. But what i want most is support for mods. The modding community for life sims always make some great mods.
Photorealistic aesthetics are impressive, but not my favorite. I enjoy a more cartoony look as well, though I think some mixture of both (realistic surroundings with cartoony characters, for example) would be my taste. That would balance the reality and fantasy of a cozy game.
The ultimate goal of all video game graphics isn’t hyperrealism, though. Some may like it and see it as the ultimate goal, but that would mean the death of art style. I can get behind the idea of why realism may be attractive for life simulation in particular, but again, not all players want that.
I never said i like Inzoi because of the hyper realism. It just looks like a better game as it has no loading screens everytime you want to step outside your house etc.@@maxonite
@@heroofthyme4237 Oh I misinterpreted your comment as referring to the actual "look" Yes no loading screens is pretty nice. Although let’s not forget the Sims 3 did this in 2009, pretty much, we’re just used to TS4s bullshit. I believe Paralives and LBY will also not have loading screens :)
inzoi To play this game, you need at least a RTX4080 graphics card. I played this demo a while ago and even with a 4080, there were some stuttering issues. Injoy's recommended graphics spec is 4070, but even with a 4080, there are some stuttering issues. So I think you should have a 4090 to play this game smoothly. And I think you should secure 500GB or 1TB capacity. The demo version also had a fairly large capacity. The good thing about this game is that it will continue to be updated and patched even after it is released. And he said that you can travel to other countries by plane. And he said that you have to earn money to buy a car. And he said that multiplayer will be possible. And there are many professions to choose from in this game. And what I wish for is that people in this game have their own home address.
I think for me it's going to end up being Paralives if they can deliver on the promise it currently shows. While there have been parts of the art style I've questioned at points, such as the always rosy-ness of faces, it's the most attractive option to me, at present, and feels like the world I want to play in. Inzoi's graphics look stunning as an achievement and I hope for the people that want it it can run on their systems like that (last thing we need is another Cities Skylines 2 debacle...) but, for me personally, the hyper-realism is a turn-off. The sense of Uncanny Valley is very real with this one and I don't think that's what I'm looking for. Life By You has good pedigree behind it so I don't doubt that there's going to be good gameplay going on here, provided they can improve the optimisation. The sheer moddability of the game is attractive but could be a double-edged sword as I wonder if it'll be too overwhelming for some people. Create-a-Style in The Sims 3 also had this problem with some people, if I recall correctly (aside from its performance issues). On graphics, while I don't think they are necessarily "bad" I would perhaps say it feels a little soulless in comparison to the other options, even Inzoi's hyper-realism. And, while graphics shouldn't make or break a game, life sims do lean on their graphics for some level of immersion so it's important to get right. Vivaland I've honestly not heard of until this video. I'll have to look into it a bit but I'm probably not looking for an online experience personally so I don't imagine this will be where I go. And then there's Project Rene which, if I'm being honest, seems like they're trying to bring back the early noughties and giving us The Sims Habbo Hotel. Which I have no interest in whatsoever. And I'm not sure anyone else would want that either. People are hoping it's a Sims 5 and I think you're right, it isn't going to be it. And that will disappoint so many people if we're right, at a very critical time when there's all these competitors coming through and not that far off.
I think Project Rene is definitely sims 5. The interfaces and everything clearly look like sims 4 and it is clear by the quality of sims 4 packs that they only have a small team, if that, working on stuff for sims 4 anymore.
I'm most hyped by Life for You. The reason is that with the deep mod support, it's literally a Life Simulation framework. I'll be able to install thousands of clothes and jobs, the nsfw scene will be excited (did you ever wanted to work in a brothel?) und full conversion mods (e.g. Game of Thrones, Ancient Greek) will be easily possible from the start.
I think we're all more excited for Paralives also because we've been getting news and updates about the game since 2019/2020, so we had the time to build up the hype and getting to know the game. We only had LBY for a year and INZOI and Vivaland were announced "just yesterday" so we're still looking at it and trying to decide what direction the game will go. Just my opinion tho, just a theory... A GAME THEORY
@@mewletterI'm getting Kpop simulator and I can't think of anything more boring. The novelty will wear off after one night of playing. Of course I'm only going by what I've watched/heard so things could change but I don't really want to live the Kpop/rich lifestyle. Knowing Korea and product placement I can imagine Inzoi being one big Ad.
Paralives is my number one, for sure. It has everything I've wanted in The Sims but it's intuitive vs intimidating. I love the art style, the vibes, the music, all of it. I'm also a little excited about Inzoi but I need to see a bit more gameplay.
Tbh I don't care about the beauty of these games that much, and how realistic they are. I don't want realism I just want to have FUN., I don't want to watch my sim do only things I do daily myself. I want my Sims to be a chaotic version of my life, to woohoo in space, to fight with Santa Claus... That's what I liked in TS3
I completely agree with you! The “realism” they’re all gunning for makes me think that I wouldn’t be so happy about throwing chaos and sudden D their way anymore… Also I miss playing multi-sims houses in sims 3! Following 1 character everywhere to watch them do daily tasks isn’t very appealing to me.
I still play TS3. Tried TS4 once and hated it... the interactions between Sims are so stupid: they barely react to what the other Sim says, and then they keep looking at their phone and then they go away, without reacting... It's such an empty game.
I’m excited for Life by You because of who’s behind it. I adore sims 3, so the character models don’t bother me.😂 Paralives looks amazing, too and I’ll definitely be trying it out. Inzoi just looks so out of reach for any pc I can afford.😅
Yeah that is my worry about Inzoi. I also think they said in one of their videos (could be some problems with translation) that they are not focusing on performance. This has me raising an eyebrow.
Don't give up on InZoi yet. It's reportedly coming to console too, so it can't be THAT bad on PC power if even console will run it. PC can still run rings on anything that comes to console. That's why people who can afford it buy their games for PC and those who can't reluctantly play on console.🙂 If it can play on console it'll easily play on PC.
Full honesty, Sims 4 will probably be my last Sims game. I've been on the Paralives train pretty much since the beginning and I'm looking forward to that far more than I'm looking forward to the disappointing soulless cash grab that Sims 5 will probably be
I am so excited for Paralives! I really love the stylized look, the realistic graphics of Life by You and Inzoi are giving uncanny valley to me. And I don’t do online games so Viva is definitely not for me. I only have a MacBook though which is going to affect what game I replace Sims with because that’s honestly my goal. Can’t handle the greed and lack of content. And yeah daddy EA got you good😂 there are many games that add major features through patches instead of behind paywalls. I mostly play RPGs so I don’t know how a life sim will do but I definitely think it’s feasible. EA made 7.42 BILLION(!!!) dollars last year, while Bethesda and Guerrilla Games made around 115 million. They don’t need your money, they’re just taking it because they can(‘:
I usually prefer the cartoony style, but Inzoi to me looks really good, graphics and gameplay wise I think it looks fun. I can't wait to try it (tho im slightly worried for my pc lol). Paralives also looks really good and I'm excited for it! Life By You looks fun gameplay wise, but graphics I'm not really a fan of, still I'm willing to give it a chance tho.
While I am the most excited for LBY, InZoi just looks incredible to me and I wish LBY could get this level of detail. I'm personally a fan of the realistic style and I think it's a great opportunity for these kinds of games to really stand out from each other and offer different aesthetics depending on what we're in the mood for.
I’m most excited about Paralives. I love the art style and I like the simplicity. I also saw that it doesn’t have needs bars they just tell you when they need something and I find that idea much more relaxing than being so preoccupied by staring at needs bars all the time. I think I’ll do a lot more interesting gameplay that way.
I'm really hoping Inzoi turns out to be everything as it's advertised to be given that it looks overly ambitious in terms of graphics and the sheer amount of detail to the gameplay. I think the biggest reason as to why I'm so skeptical about Inzoi is because over the past decade we haven't had many games (if any) at all that has had as much passion and effort put into them as Inzoi seems to have had. If Inzoi does come out as pretty and as detailed as it's been advertised then it really should shake up the entire industry and hopefully get devs and publishers to do better.
I primarily play sims for building. And i am most lookong forward to Paralives. I remember long ago before we got any ganeplay we got a very short gif of build mode where they placed a window in a wall then clicked it and were able to resize the window. That simple task blew my mind and ive been on the hype train ever since then.
I feel like people are setting themselves up for disappointment if they think these games (if they ever even come out) are not going to heavily monetize items. That’s unfortunately the landscape of gaming now. Sure, a lot of indie games are cheaper now but I imagine it’s gonna take a lot of money to even make these games. And they’re going to want to recoup the costs.
Inzoi looks like it’ll kill my pc, and I don’t like that you’re confined to one kind of world. LBY also looks like it’ll be heavy duty, but at least it’s highly customizable. I’m not interested in Rene or Vivaland cause I’m not into multiplayer games. Paralives is still my favorite. I feel like it’s the most balanced.
Let's be honest the best life sim game will be the one which allows the player to go off the rails and do wacky and demented stuff with their characters. Because how many of us are actually playing the Sims exactly as advertised / as intended.
I’m most excited for Paralives, followed by Life By You and then Inzoi. Didn’t know of Vivaland and I have extremely low expectations for Project Renee. I love how complex Life by You looks, but I think I’d more regularly sit down for a bit of chill Paralives. Plus Paralives has the best art style imo
As a girlie who plays Sims with graphics on low, but tens of GB of gameplay mods, I could not care less about Inzoi. I'd rather burden my PC with modded active careers and the likes, than turn my Sim rendering to high :)))) That being said, I fully understand how other people play it exactly for that and I'm glad there's something out there they might really like :)
Inzoi already has active careers though and will most likely add more, and they are actually creating a framework for modders so modded active careers will also be a thing probably
Nzoi has enb or filters build within the game, so you can swap to cartoonish or even 8bit graphics and as long as they let modders improve some of them, it all seems like a massive W, hyper realistic or not the game looks insane, and even better it focuses on gameplay which is what the Sims games were lacking of.
Glad it seems like Paralives is our number 1 here. Don't get me wrong I'm excited about Life By You, and Inzoi has lots of ambition. But Life By You almost seems like a toolbox of sorts. It seems like the kinda game that might take a while for its popularity to kick off, once it has a decent amount of mods. Inzoi is interesting, it offers something more for people who are looking for that kinda thing, which is story and gameplay. For people who wanted the sims to be as realistic as possible they'll like Inzoi and more power to them tbh. Paralives strikes the right balance for me. It offers a lot of creative control, but still has things like rabbit holes and contrary to a lot of people i actually don't really mind rabbit holes? I tend to play with a couple dozen households at a time, like 20-30, so I can only imagine how it'd feel to have to constantly go through the whole process of grocery shopping for all of them. I think perhaps "streamlined" is the word I'm thinking of with Paralives. It's straightforward and all together I think is closest to what most people have been wanting from the sims. Which is a sequel to Sims 3
I’m looking forward to trying out all of these games, but I think I’ll personally lean more towards LBY and/or Paralives. I think Para is such a cute little name for the characters
I'm truly excited for this phase, if the price is accessable I'd love to try them all.. I share the same thought, I'm not excited at all for project Rene 😅 after growing together I haven't bought any other pack and I'm not really satisfied for the products I currently have. Even if all of them were 100% bug free, I'd still be bored of them because the ideas are great but not well implemented into gameplay, and once the novelty is gone, I have a hard time enjoying them again. I also feel The Sims 4 lacks identity, is not the wacky game I used to have. What I really enjoy about the others proposals is that each of them as a strong identity, I can totally see the devs ideas and even philosophies in the way they implemented some gameplay features. Vivaland and Paralives are the ones I'm most excited about, the others seems so cool but also there's so much things to personalized that I already feel underwhelmed by, but can't deny there's a huge market for that kind of GP. I heard Vivaland is being made by ex sims modders, that's why I'm so intrigued by them. We need people who has played the game, they know how to take things to the next level. They know what's missing. But overall, I'm truly excited for everything yet to come 😆
Inzoi is the one I'm most excited for. I'm rather obsessed with Korea, and being able to have proper Korean architecture will make my whole life better... I doubt I'll leave the Korea-land, but I will be getting it.
My list in order of favorite to least favorite 1: Paralives ( Will definitely buy the moment of release ) 2: Vivaland ( Looks Great will try it ) 2: Inzoi ( Kind of iffy on the hyper realism but still looks cool ) 4: Project Renee ( Eh, not very interesting to me ) 5: Life by You ( Ill Pass )
I think Paralives has huge potential to be developed for mobile. Not that I even play mobile games, but it could bring in some revenue for the dev team and help expand the PC version.
In addition to the rise of cozy games during the pandemic that you mentioned, I think the other reason we're seeing so many life sims popping up now is specifically because of EA's cash-grabby strats. For years, people complained about EA's greedy, microtransaction-laden way of doing things, getting angrier and angrier with each passing year and each new, brazen paywall jammed in where none had ever been before. But then those people just sighed, sucked it up, and dropped another wad of cash on whatever DLC or pack they needed to get content that should've been in the base game to begin with. At a certain point, I feel like a few companies saw an opportunity there to step in and offer gamers an alternative, thereby carving themselves a little place in the lucrative game niche that EA had been dominating since The Sims 1. And, tbh, it's about time. EA is like a heavyweight champ that's gotten a little fat and lazy because they haven't had any challengers for years and haven't really had to be on top of their game. All they had to do was show up and collect money. Now, suddenly, there's all this potential competition starting to creep up on them and they're having to wake up a little. I noticed it when Paralives started getting all that initial buzz and people were calling it a potential Sims-killer and all that. That was when EA suddenly switched up how often they were pushing out packs, adding in features that had been missing since day 1, etc. And now that there are multiple "potential Sims-killers" beginning to crop up, I think it's pretty telling that EA -- for the first time and much to everyone's surprise -- actually apologized to the players for not fixing bugs that have been in there since release, not cleaning up and optimizing code, etc. and formed a team to finally take care of these things. Before this, EA's attitude toward player complaints about bugs, performance issues, etc. always seemed to boil down to, "Yeah, we'll give you whatever we want and you'll like it, because we're the only game in town." Idk if any of these games will actually be Sims-killers (that's a pretty tall order, given the long history of the franchise and how much goes into building a game like this) but I'm glad they're all happening because, if nothing else, they're forcing EA to wake up and try a little harder and I have to imagine that competition is going to do nothing but benefit us players.
Life by You’s graphics, UI, advertising, and communications and even polish are kind of abysmal but the ambition, attitude and forethought behind decisions are excellent. Like the love they’ve put into the modding capabilities is impressive. I just wish it didn’t feel so amateurish in its presentation. whoever is in charge of the art is either very green or spread very very thin
I think the new life simulation games in terms of graphics are good for variety. Inzoi is realistic, Paralives is cartoony and LBY is in between the two. So a player according to his preference will find something available.
I’m loving life by you. Can’t wait to play it. Looking forward to the other ones except the ones from electronic arts. I stopped playing the sims years ago!
Im going to love Inzoi. Not going to lie.. the Project Renée has always looked like crap to me. The whole sims 4 vibe has been very uniformed. It's like those movies where everything is very robot. There's no creativity. Everything is very robot and basic bish energy 😅
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is concerned by the LBY humans lol Im most excited for Paralives. Everything they've shown is what I've hoped Sims would do.
The first game whatever you called it, looks realistic and beautiful and i hope it isn't expensive. Life by you reminds me about sims 3. Good stuff, open world but like you said the characters look ugly like those sims from the sims 3. It would be better if the maker of life by you makes the characters look more like the sims from either sims 2 or sims 4. Paralives characters look better than the ones from life by you however the menu Ui look should be better and similar like sims 4. If paralives gets good free DLCs i might play paralives even more than sims 4 if it has atleast occults in them. The vivaland building simulator looks good and the characters look good but i hope there is a singleplayer mode because i'm not much into multiplayer and that there are cool wallpapers for the walls.
I'm not sure I'd like the complete lack of rabbit holes and having to have a character do everything; this is partly because I play in a style more similar to a management game like SimCity, and do so with sometime large household. I suspect that might be more appealing who plays in a style more like an RPG, with a focus on a character in the game that represents themself, essentially their character. I'm not sure of ultra-realistic characters, either. Now Paralives is turning out to be more innovative that I'd originally expected, or would that I'd likely to be able to be, so I'm impressed and cautiously optimistic about that one.
honestly I think the face the sims is finally getting competition is like the best thing ever. We all get actively annoyed by the sims and how much we have to pay, but we stay because its been really the only life sim on the market and ea knows that and takes advantage of that.
Personally I’m most excited for Inzoi. It’s everything i want in a life sim game and executes realist graphics really well. Paralives is also on my radar 😊
CHECK THE NEWS! Looks like former XCOM devs, along with a former The Sims director, are now ALSO working on a new life sim game. They don't have a name for it yet, but the studio is called Midsummer Studios.
As of now LBY looks the most promising. Besides graphics and animations, the amount of features and freedom we are getting is not something we’ve had since TS3. Also the team has already recognized that the game needs improved artwork and animations so I’m sure improvements are coming soon (hopefully).
I'm excited for them all because EA needs some serious competition.
Why?
@@Aonulika444 google it.
Best possible gameplay: Life by You
Best graphics: Inzoi
Most 'balanced' game: Paralives
A fully functional multiplayer Sim game: Vivaland
Most 'Sus' game: Project Renee
What we've seen about gameplay I don't think LBY will be the best. Planting, collectiing shells, ... shopping .. everything seems to be quite dull
Nah gameplay you cannot judge that from the small things we saw... That's the thing about gameplay, you have to play it, you can judge graphics tho.
The problem with Inzoi is that having the most ultra realistic graphics, their character animations is kind of slow/stiff and awkward, the mismatch is creating a scary uncanny valley effect
Agreed
Space games, milsim games, colony sim games, etc.
@@distorteddivine3638YUP!!!!
@@dashka-s-kosi4kami that's completely fine by me. The gameplay is my focus. 👍🏼
I think one of the devs was on the sims 3 team but idk how much creative control he had
I love LBY the most because of the customization potential. I love the idea of building a city full of my own characters with my own written lore.
Me too. But they need to improve the character model😭😭😭
RIP Life by You 😭
@@imjustsomebunny Man f*ck Paradox for killing it 😞
@@MayannHanna Yeah.
@@arantxaortiz2757you mean sims city? XD
@@bartlett2335 well it's not like they have competition. Though imagine if sims city has a new game that beat CS2. XD be kinda hilarious
I'm curious, what cracks?
Same
@@andremedeiros2181 See what Paradox did with Cities Skylines 2. They are probably going to push and rush this one too.. and the DLC is going to be just as bad as what EA puts out.
@dibel3669 Or maybe Paradox will learn from their mistakes, and try to make things better. i'm giving Paradox a chance.
I was thinking the same thing! It reminds me so much of GTA 5
exactly. I am looking forward to that one
(While all other games have already nailed down their aesthetics & designs)
Animations have to fit with the model, and if the model change too much the animation have to be redone.
@@dashka-s-kosi4kami Thank you, the animations look disastrous, and I often feel like I'm one of the rare people to see it haha
They're not appealing at all, which is a shame for a game genre that relies heavily on players having fun watching characters do stuff
@thalesteixeira8382 Nobody is forcing you to buy dlc's. However, Paradox dlc"s aren't as expensive as EAs Sims dlc"s.
Paralives looks the best to me but ill be waiting til the games come out.
I'm also in love with how transparent they've been with their plans, bugs and so on
The fact they need feedback to see the obvious glaring issues with their models and animations is a bit of a red flag...
The art direction is ATROCIOUS tho 😭
I feel like life by you has a lot of potential, I’m definitely hesitant about inzoi being an ambitious title that doesn’t end up pulling through, but honestly at this point any game that’ll get EA to get their heads out of their asses I’ll support it
INZOI is the first time a realistic style doesn't look uncanny
I totally agree with you when you said, if Life by You was made more cartoony, I think it would be its saviour. At the moment I don't think it will stand a chance against Inzoi. And the people who aren't able to run Inzoi, but want more freedom to be creative would turn to Life by you. I think they should revamp it and create their own niche, go full Disney or Pixel in style, it would run so much better and appeal to a lot of people.
Man, I really, really don’t want it to be pixel style but I agree with everything else you said!
I am obsessed with inzoi already
a huge factor for me in a game is art style
I hate alpha cc in the sims 4 but I saw the trailer for inzoi and my jaw dropped and I fell in love
I'm so hyped I love character customization I spend most of my time on the sims in CAS the zois just look so pristine I love the ability to customize clothes outside of swatches and being able to layer clothing
Paralives took me a second to get into but now I'm super excited and I enjoy keeping up with updates it looks like my next favorite cozy game
Life by you doesnt interest me like the other two the style just doesnt appeal to me but I fully plan on giving it a chance
As an avid alpha CC gamer and koreaboo, i am thrilled about Inzoi😬

Yep, townie population settings and connectable hoods has me super excited too. A natural extension of TS3's system
LBY looks like the Sims game everyone was hoping for before Sims 4 came out and I’m for it
exactly! Life By You seems to be true follow up to The Sims 3!
They already did, sims 4 sucks in comparison to the older games
That would balance the reality and fantasy of a cozy game.
u get ittttt
Inzoi is what you’d expect a 2024 life sim game to look like
The ultimate goal of all video game graphics isn’t hyperrealism, though.
@@heroofthyme4237 Oh I misinterpreted your comment as referring to the actual "look"
Yes no loading screens is pretty nice. Although let’s not forget the Sims 3 did this in 2009, pretty much, we’re just used to TS4s bullshit. I believe Paralives and LBY will also not have loading screens :)
@@maxonitenah it’s all good I can see how it may be misinterpreted 😆
inzoi To play this game, you need at least a RTX4080 graphics card.
I’m most excited for paralives since it seems like it has the most charm and it looks like a full game without being overwhelming at all
I think for me it's going to end up being Paralives if they can deliver on the promise it currently shows.
EA introduced project Renee in their own live stream last year
I'm most hyped by Life for You.
I honestly don't care about advanced graphics, Paralives looks just fine by me and I think it will have the better gameplay
For me Inzoi is the BEST!!!
Imo Inzoi looks like an asset flip. Not saying it is, it just looks so... Plasticky.
@@feloniousbutterfly Yea realism doesnt trump a good art direction and soul
Spend hundreds of hours creating the characters, then photo shoot the Hell out of it. Basically, that's 90% of Inzoi gameplay there I guess. lol
I prefer Inzoi too. Paralives looks like a child's mobile game
Inzoi graphic looks amazing.
To be honest Same. Supernatural is one of my favourite Packs for a Reason
Equating Sims 3 characters with LBY's horrendous proportions, tone, textures and animations... Wut?
@@oceanegougeon3025 in this big day and age they got them looking worse than Sims Mobile 😭
There's an indie cozy one coming up called Little Sim World, very different vibe, I love it
Full honesty, Sims 4 will probably be my last Sims game.
I am so excited about life by you.
Paralives is definitely throwing shade to EA 😂
While I am the most excited for LBY, InZoi just looks incredible to me and I wish LBY could get this level of detail. I'm personally a fan of the realistic style and I think it's a great opportunity for these kinds of games to really stand out from each other and offer different aesthetics depending on what we're in the mood for.
I’m most excited about Paralives. I love the art style and I like the simplicity. I also saw that it doesn’t have needs bars they just tell you when they need something and I find that idea much more relaxing than being so preoccupied by staring at needs bars all the time. I think I’ll do a lot more interesting gameplay that way.
it's sad that we've lost one, LBY was cancelled today
Wasn’t gonna be on mobile, like the rest.
That simple task blew my mind and ive been on the hype train ever since then.
so excited for them alllll
Inzoi has a menu where you select your location from a globe menu. There was around 7 locations on the globe.
I can't wait for Inzoi!
Let's be honest the best life sim game will be the one which allows the player to go off the rails and do wacky and demented stuff with their characters. Because how many of us are actually playing the Sims exactly as advertised / as intended.
Paralives really need paid dlc for stuff like supernaturals, or things that would enhance that game from being normal gameplay
INZOI is that girl💙
Great vid Satch! You literally covered them all.
My laptop would blow up with the first one
As a girlie who plays Sims with graphics on low, but tens of GB of gameplay mods, I could not care less about Inzoi.
I'd rather burden my PC with modded active careers and the likes, than turn my Sim rendering to high :))))
That being said, I fully understand how other people play it exactly for that and I'm glad there's something out there they might really like :)
I'm very excited for inZoi and Paralives for sure!
My list in order of favorite to least favorite
1: Paralives ( Will definitely buy the moment of release )
2: Vivaland ( Looks Great will try it )
2: Inzoi ( Kind of iffy on the hyper realism but still looks cool )
4: Project Renee ( Eh, not very interesting to me )
5: Life by You ( Ill Pass )
Life By You says it's canceled. :(
i loveee the way inzoi looks personally. It's so realistic looking and pretty. Like real life but prettier
I like Life by you the best. I've been following their channel since day one.
A tier: Life by You
B tier: Paralives
D tier: Inzoi
Rip sims. I think it’s a really bad sign that project renee is so different.
I can’t wait to play inzoi! I hope The sims franchise is learning from this.
I think Paralives has huge potential to be developed for mobile. Not that I even play mobile games, but it could bring in some revenue for the dev team and help expand the PC version.
I like the build mode, just interested in fully furnish a house 😅 maybe Paralives is for me, not sure but will see next year
Vivaland's lead dev confirmed this week that active careers, optional co-op, personality system affects life, cars, pronouns all in base game
Why would pronouns not be in the game?
Before this, EA's attitude toward player complaints about bugs, performance issues, etc. always seemed to boil down to, "Yeah, we'll give you whatever we want and you'll like it, because we're the only game in town."
Idk if any of these games will actually be Sims-killers (that's a pretty tall order, given the long history of the franchise and how much goes into building a game like this) but I'm glad they're all happening because, if nothing else, they're forcing EA to wake up and try a little harder and I have to imagine that competition is going to do nothing but benefit us players.
Perfect comment, and true 100%.
I'm hopeful for Paralives and Life By You.
I go clearly for paralives ❤❤❤ the cosyness is gold and reminds me of the sims 2 wich is my absolute favourite ❤❤❤❤
Paralives visually/ the graphics I love and I think I’d most likely play
Do you think Life By You and other newer life sims may be attempting to steer clear of the cartoony look in fear of any sort of copyright issues?
I'm looking forward to Life by You and Inzoi
Vivaland seems to have some good roleplay opportunities.
8:28 I'm very happy to hear that. I was kind of frustrated that you of all people where against it.
It felt like EA had brainwashed you as well.
No mention of Tiny Life
It seems like they are all by the same company who developed these different games with trade offs in all of them.
honestly I think the face the sims is finally getting competition is like the best thing ever.
Inzoi is more pleasing to the eye on my aesthetic standards, so Im only getting inzoi
