The ORAS cutscene pissed me off so much, I was considering getting that game but I think I can tell how it is going to be, really story driven even though Pokemon is not a story driven game. ( given that there is story and a lot of it, but it shouldn’t take up a 6 minute cutscene)

WILLIAM DEGRAVE wow, here is a little story. I was playing a pokemon emerald randomizer, and when I was looking through the rusterf tunnel, I found a Rayquaza. I wanted it badly, but I didn't have many pokèballs, and I didn't want it to faint. I sent out my starter, which was an Articuno, cause the starters were randomized, too, And I tried to weaken it. It didn't faint. I used every single pokeball I had but it didn't work. The only pokeball I had left was a Greatball. I threw it, and caught Rayquaza. I nicknamed it "Skyla." To this day, I still have Skyla on that specific game, and on other games, whenever I catch a Rayquaza, I nickname it Skyla. On a randomizer called Pokemon Emerald Veterans version, one of the starter pokemon was a Rayquaza, but they called Rayquaza, "Skullquaza," for some reason, and it had Wonder guard instead of Air lock, and it was a Dragon ghost type. I nicknamed it "Skylabone," as some sort of pun. and recently when I was looking for rayquaza in the ultra wormhole on Pokemon Ultra moon, I found Rayquaza. Tbh, I was sorta disappointed not hearing the ORAS theme for Rayquaza. But I caught Rayquaza anyways and nicknamed her "Skyla," as always. Hell, I even gave her black glasses, which the Original Skyla held. It was like she came back! That is why Rayquaza is so special to me.

Rayquaza (Emerald) is one of the hardest Pokémon to catch *ever.* It heals itself completely, including Status problems, and defeats itself very easily in its confusion... The only reason I was able to catch it was that my lucky ice beam froze it.

The sad thing is that that scene from emerald looks better than any scene for 3ds games, and that was 2005, 14 years ago, on a display that was less impressive than the snes, a console from 1990 (29 years ago, holy crap).
But then again, it's a pretty damn good scene and I'm a sucker for 16bit.

@@arminddzemajli7845Beyond visuals and sound, it's (3ds) way too drawn out and jammed with unnecessary dialogue that it just diminishes impact, just as with many other games' cutscenes nowadays
Wanna get cutscenes right? Go play hollow knight (EDIT: literary hours after commenting this, they just stealth announced a sequel)
"When the character is explaining his actions to the reader, the dialogue is not adding to the story."
Plus, Oras really held your hand way too much in gameplay, making the progression feel so much less rewarding
Hoen legend theme has one of the best buildups who agrees or what theme can top the intro

That dialogue was literally one of the worst I have ever seen, it was cringey, far too long and had nothing to it at all, it was borderline kingdom hearts dialogue.

Ok, but the music used in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald for Rayquaza is by far the most epic video game music. Especially given the holy sh*t moment when you're just minding your own business exploring Sky Pillar, then you get to the roof and all of a sudden you see this random, giant green pokémon just chilling there, who suddenly flies away and you're like "what the hell was that? Where did it go?" The music perfectly sets the scene for the excitement/fear of finally being able to try and catch him.
if ORAS actually following emerald,especially that whole cutscene where rayquaza stop kyogre and groudon its gonna be EPIC

I'm impressed as he only needed 3 ~ 4 Ultraballs, I needed to use several Dusk Balls in the HG / SS (more powerful than Ultras because the place is considered a cave type place).
I remember saving the game then I would take a long time to catch it and then I would turn it off just because I wanted it to have the perfect nature
It took me 4 hours and multiple tries to catch Rayquaza in Emerald back in the day.
And you did it with two Ultra Balls in less than 5 minutes lmfao. 😂😂
