That scene where Rayquaza descends from the heavens to tell Groudon and Kyogre to stfu and go back to their rooms will always be legendary
Rayquaza is the stressed out oldest sibling who always has to clean up after the others.

Rayquaza may be the most perfect pokemon game freak has ever made. Design awesome. Shiny design awesome. Mega design awesome. Shiny mega design incredible. And lastly it's an absolute powerhouse.

I remember when I was a kid and my friend caught a rayquaza in emerald with a single pokeball(the standard one) full HP and everything, the most rarest sight ever

I was facing off against Rayquaza in Ruby, it was at full HP and sleeping because of Rest and I threw a Pokeball just for laughs and to my surprise I caught it.

Hard to imagine now that back in 2003, Rayquaza was just "the extra legend", the legend with little to no plot significance (for now), that you find in a secluded spot on the map in the post game, with little to no indication that it was there or that it even existed, but it's there, it's waited for you, and now it's gonna fight you, and you better be ready.
the same can be said about giratina in diamond and pearl, it wasn’t until the third version where they had plot significance

i like beating the champion better without a legendary. feels more rewarding
I’m in the same boat. Just because I can use a legendary that I caught, doesn’t mean I should use it in the Pokémon league. And besides, all that training with one of the Pokémon that I had will have gone to waste.
i actually like using legendaries and all but by the time i have access to them my team is already formed and everyone in it have personalities and friendships............. it's just so hard to kick someone out
I think they should have put rayquaza at 50 or 45 like groudon or kyogre
I beat Leon without Eternatus and he spanked me hard. Still won 1st try.

I literally took 30 ultra balls to catch the thing
QOTD:I used my flygon's dragonbreath to paralyze it and lower its health to catch on my 5th attempt in Emerald And i never played ORAS so no experience there

Imagine this: You grew up with the RSE games. You’ve seen on RUclips all the cool mystery gift events you never got to try since your parents never took you to get them.
Then ORAS comes out. You’re absolutely clueless about anything regardless the Delta Episode. You go through it, and when Rayquaza destroys the meteorite, you see that fucking triangle move in a way that sends you back to 2006 when you first saw the Deoxys event you never got to do. Your hype levels begin to skyrocket as *that OST* starts to kick in.
That’s why the Delta Episode is one of the greatest things in the entire series. It brought a fan favorite character in Zinnia and lead to some of the most unforgettable moments fucking ever.
This is the ultimate reason why dragon is my favorite pokemon type

I was so obsessed with Rayquaza, that I literally took a screenshot in this scene and cut out Kyogre and Groudon, so I can put it on my lock screen and home screen.

back then in Ruby, it was quite a tough battle
I didn't even know Sky Pillar exist in the first place, until my friend told me to find it beside Pasificlog Town, which I though were blocked by stones
as soon as I enter Sky Pillar, I took several months to clear the puzzle there (Acro Bike was my favorite, so I never changed it to Mach Bike until this experience)
then I met Rayquaza... I constantly battle, reset, battle, reset, battle reset, just because of how powerful it was, my party were simply unprepared at that time, all of them were low leveled and I don't have a good amount of healing items
one of those resets, I found the black one... because of how different it was, I trust myself to not reset it again, up until... 57th(?) turn I guess, I can't remember because if was 12 years ago, Rayquaza's health bar on orange, all of my Hyper Ball storage were used, unsure if it would work or not (because I didn't know what it's used for), I blindly used Timer Ball instead, because I thought regular ones or Great Ball must be failed, turns out I caught it... that's the most memorable Rayquaza catch for me
I caught the one in Emerald lot easier
I haven't encountered one in my Heart Gold gameplay yet
Alpha Sapphire were too easy (and we HAVE to catch it in order to progress the story)
I don't have Ultra games
and in Max Lair, it's really easy

Rayquaza is like a diving board each step builds excitement for the next one, getting higher and cooler but gets to the top at Ultra sun and moon and then takes a graceful swan dive into mediocrity

i like that the idea in Emerald is that when you first meet with Rayquaza, the entire area is clean and suited to "sleep" on
and once Rayquaza wakes up and yells at both Groudon/Kyogre, Rayquaza is SO mad that it destroys everything around it because it woke up grumpy which is why the layout changes
I remember trying so hard for Rayquaza in Ruby... I was so proud of myself when i catched him. Good times.
