Whichever version of said generation i would choose, I’d always be obsessed & intrigued by the other 😂 (unless it was crystal, emerald or platinum)
I can't lie, a small part of me died when they stopped putting the box cover legendaries in the opening intro

As a kid I was SHOCKED when I saw the intro of pokemon platinum(although the moment Giratina came on scared me a bit), pokemon platinum will forever stay in a space in my heart. What nostalgia.

Sad to see how they rushed the intros on the Switch versions 😢. From gen 1 to 5, the pixel animations were so good and we could even see some legendaries. + the music so rythmic and thrilling!
In gen 6 - 7, we got some very nice intros and good music. But with gen 8 and 9, short intros with nothing so thrilling… you just want to “press A”…
Yeah, from what I can watch, yeah... They start to get worse, now, looks like just a static screen and nothing else.
Gamefreak is dead
Happens to a lot of games nowadays, take Uncharted for an example: 1 to 3 had really cool title screens with the main music themes playing and 4 had nothing but a screen with press button to continue and no music at all.

Emerald will always have a special place in my heart, HeartGold intro always gets me hyped but GEN 5 has the greatest intros of ALL TIME 🤩😭

Fun fact, the reason BW2’s title theme sounds much higher quality than BW’s is because it’s one of the rare instances of a DS game using streamed audio instead of sequenced. Which is the reason why the title screen can lag so much on emulators, even though all it’s doing is panning around a low poly model.
Dude I had NO IDEA Legends Arceus had a theme song in the intro! I always assumed it was just the background ambiance with a static screen, so I clicked through immediately every time. I have never heard the flute intro before!

The DS era, specifically Gen V is undefeated and has been ever since it came out.
@@TheFirstCurse1gen 5 was peak. I'd pay to go back to that design and everything again. Those animated 3d sprites look so much better than 3d ones and don't even get me started on move animations. The first time I saw Ttar use stomping tantrum in SwSh, my entire life was ruined.
I never knew how good Pokémon Crystal's intro was.

Yeah. Back then, a trailer for every game even the similar ones like R/B/Y, R/S/E, Dppt etc but now, nothing, NOTHING. Not even a few seconds

Gen 1 till 5 will be the most nostalgic ones we'll never forget and will forever be part of our lives. It was clever that Nintendo did some gen 2 remakes like "SoulSilver" and "HeartGold" . God I really miss the old school pixel art Pokemon so much. ❤️❤️😭

Pokemon W and W2 were my first games (White 2 was my 1st) and man did they evoke so much nostalgia. The battle music, awesome sprite work. *sigh* I feel you.

I have good memories of me and an old friend back in 2009 to 2011. We would spend hours playing against each other through link cable, trade Pokemon. We eventually filled the hoenn Pokedex and got a totodile. I used to have copies of FireRed, leafgreen, and emerald. I wish I never got rid of them.

Fun fact, Gen 4 when you clicked start and heard the little chime, that was the same notes the Azure flute would play to summon Arceus. But I guess it was too complicated for players to find out
Gen 1 - 5 are the most nostalgic and one of the best Pokemon Intros for me

@@Jeeeeezzz yeah i am agree back in the day pokemon games had lore ,mystery and challenging, but look at that company now ? They even doesn't have shame to release a game full of bug, glitches ,FPS drop ,the moment i play pokemon scarlet ,i play for 2 hours and i make out my mind that this game is bullsh** and never touch the game ever again.
For me soul silver and heart gold is one of the best pokemon in DS era ,the game had more content, legendary, mystery (unown, ruin, etc) ,the landscape are beautiful.

I didn't enjoyed Gold and Crystal much when I was young but I loved Heart Gold / Soul Silver on the DS. Today I even appreciate Crystal and Gold/Silver as I grew old❤
Yeah i think they make this game with all of their heart (gen 2) ,the game even include true final boss to test our skill and knowledge ,and suprisingly the true final boss is ourself (Red) in pokemon red/blue/yellow.

Even though I love Gen 1-5 in intros, I think XY is also pretty good. The opening theme feels kinda hype in its own way
Didn’t realize how soothing the intro to legends arceus was. I could meditate with this song playing in the background
I started with Pearl back when i was a little boy. Its amazing to see the leap in overall quality from GameBoy to DS. And this intro was just mythical. Those sounds while these little stars fall to the ground. And the outline of either Palkia or Dialga in the main menu. It was really good. I also played Emerald and those Spin Offs Mystery Dungeon and Pokemon Ranger and i gotta say DS really was peak.
The Necrozma leitmotif that plays when it shows up in the USUM intro 😫
Ok, so you actually missed one. Sword and shield have two animations, one for when you’re in the main story, and the one you showed, which is for when you become the champion.
i didn't even know that! swsh was probably the game i played the least tho. about 40 hours of playtime compared to my usual 300 hours
@@hannahrose13420 You probably never noticed due to how quickly you probably finished it. I may love sword and shield, but even I can admit that it was a very easy game.
Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald will always be my favorite versions.... You know how cool it was to see Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza's sigils shining then slowly fading away.
Can i Say the gen 7 intro looked smooth as Hell and also cool like introducing the gimmick of the gen the ride mons and ofc the story i personally loved gen 7
Only the first five generations of the game really had nice intro scenes.
The first two are nostalgia to me.
Gen 4 intro brings back so many good memories, I always get tears of joy while listening to everything related to Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, I'm not kidding, I'm so attached to gen 4 words can't even describe that feeling of mine properly. Long live Pokémon!

Game Freak is such a weird name for a company, even weirder when their opening logos are so whimsical and wholesome
If I'm not wrong, game freak was originally a game magazine that Tajiri (the pokemon creator) founded in 1982 so it wasn't originally a name for a game company
Pokémon Platinum’s into always made me so invested, yet I always feared Giratina because of it. Those two dotted red eyes and that smile, jeez it made me tremble in bed just looking at it. (I mean PLA made up for that fear a bit with that 2nd phase of the battle) I think the glow is what made it more terrifying
BW intro was just nerve wrecking. Waiting and waiting, as N got crowned. Everyone just standing there, and the music made it more tense.
Yeah giratina are even more fearsome in final battle pokemon legend arceus that he kick our team with his 2nd form ,with his creepy music 😂

I absolutely LOVE ultra moon and ultra sun intros. It shows all the cool stuff you can do while also showing what new story you can get into. Also Omega ruby when the jewel turns into lava at the title screen, with 3D on, is just amazing.

Started watching the anime back in Kanto (when Ash caught Butterfree episode) then started playing the game in Hoenn. The R/S/E theme will always be nostalgic to me. That’s the start of my Pokemon Journey. Sigh good times.
I can relate to the R/S/E thing. But the anime I didn't start until orange island ironically lol. But everytime I hear hoenns intro I can't help but tear up a bit.
Pokémon gold’s intro is practically engraved in my mind. It was my very first game I never wanted to put it down.

The Ds intos are my absolute favorite, I love the pixel art and how the music sounds and they make the games you’re about to play feel so cinematic and interesting like an anime series intro. It’s a shame that the recent games just opted for a single shot, slapped on some music, and called it a day. They better give us their A game in the next games.

Not sure why I just realized this now but... The unowns in the crystal intro have their shiny colors before switching to their regular ones
All I can say is Crystal version will always hold a special place in my heart and Suicune will always be my boy amongst legendary pokemon

I like cinematic intros of gen 1-5, bdsp. Gen 6 and 7 are just teaser gameplays which is still kinda ok. Lets go to gen 9 are just standby screens in a certain place now and kinda boring. I guess they are tired making intros nowadays.

Surprised not many people are saying HGSS, but the intro from Gold and Silver and the title theme from Crystal makes the best combo of themes imo. (I also love USUM)

I wonder what kind of twist they're gonna do with Unova for the next upcoming years.. Is it a remake like ORAS? a remaster like BDSP? A prequel like PLA? sequels like BW3? Or somewhat like an alternate timeline like USUM differs from SM?
Unova for me has the best storyline for me and it has the most complex or deep thought plot by pokemon standards. I hope they don't ruin it.

Gen 2 Crystal and the remakes are my favorite games, Gen 5 is my favorite generation and story, but the gen 7 opening will always be my favorite.

I'll always find hilarious how dramatic and Shakespearian the intro of Black and White was, it had no business going that hard.
For me, the themes go usum, bw2, then bw, usum just has a special place in my heart as it brought me back into the series after being gone for a while, and the theme is just so good

Pokémon Boack2 and White 2 is my favorite one here.
Crystal was my earliest favorites since it was the only one that had little animated movements when on the Pokémon when they were summoned.
i was 6 when i started playing Pokemon, Heartgold was my first game. i frickin love this franchise after almost 2 decades of playing it. BW and BW2 will always be my favorites.
