I'll never forget the day I found out about Giratina's existence. I was waiting my mom inside the car in the parking lot of her job and had my DS to kill time. I had just beaten the Elite four on Diamond and I decided to explore the rest of Sinnoh when I encountered the Turnback cave. I had no pokemon on my party with Defog OR Rock smash so I ventured myself inside completely blind. The wild pokémon were not much trouble and I thought I would find a nice item, but I reached the room where Giratina was. It appeared just like that in front of me, almost unseeable from the fog I did not lift. I was creeped out. It looked so big and scary. I pressed the A button and the battle began. One by one, he wrecked my entire team with moves I had no idea existed back then. Earth power on my Empoleon, Shadow force on the rest and when I wanted to use an item, bam! Heal block. He defeated me completely. I was astonished, scared and confused. I had seen the Devil.
Pretty intense... Heheheheheheheh... The 1st time I met Giratina, I was 12, playing my Diamond Version... After having a little fun on the new island, I was seeking for new Pokemon... Until I saw the cave that I never saw before... However, I was luckier than you against Giratina... Great time... Great team... Great achievement... Heheheheheheheh...
He got me down to my last Pokémon which was Staraptor and luckily Staraptor is a normal/flying type so Giratina’s dark & ghost type moves had no effect on my Staraptor at all.

Giratina and Rayquaza are the definitive coolest legendary Pokémon to ever exist. They both have the most badass entrances and push aside the other two Legendary Pokémon of the game’s title like they aren’t shit. But Giratina, man. Giratina goes after *you.*

Mew is theorized as the first pokemon he created, and its playful nature helped shape the universe as it is today. Rayquaza is the strongest pokemon revealed to us so far, but only because its mega form doesn't require a mega stone and its base stat total being the highest. Mewtwo is a genetic experiment to create a manmade legendary pokemon, and is far from a god. This pokemon is however extremely powerful, yet it is a 20+ year old "model" that considered mega evolution cutting edge Technology. Lets all remember that Arceus has a Primal Reversion form. Its been bleeding Infinity Energy longer than any other pokemon after all and faster than any other.

Giratina: ...you picked the Lake Guardians gems out of their heads. ...you tried to abuse the power of my brothers for your own ends. ...your name is Cyrus. And today, you will die.
It makes me think of the Pokémon Generations take on the scene, where Cyrus commands Dialga and Palkia to attack Giratina with their signature moves, and Giratina destroys the Red Chain on each of them. Once it does that, both of them both fly off immediately. Just: “NOPE. NUH-UH. GODS OF TIME/SPACE OUT. NOT DEALING WITH THAT. YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN, BLUE-HAIRED SUN MAN.”
Best game. Best legendary pokémon. Best villains and team. This is no longer a game, it's art, we need a remake of diamond, pearl and platinum RIGHT NOW!
That's because it's the extreme form, it can levitate, and can deal with extreme environments. The Diamond / Pearl has feet which support movement, while the Platinum version can defy physics and gravity.
It is the only Pokemon in the Distortion World. It is actually the only Pokemon that can live in that dimension due to it being able to control anti-matter. It has 6 things appearing on its body 6 times if you look at its design closely. Giratina is literally the Devil, and it's awesome.
The sheer lack of emotion is what makes me love his character so much. He’s unfazed and unimpressed by so much. Even in the Distortion World, he calmly collects his bearings and investigates his surroundings, to the point where he can explain what’s going on almost as well as Cynthia can. And he does it all without any fear, anger, or emotion at all. He was truly one of the best villains.

I remember in like my second play through of this game, I was trying to save my master ball for a later time, so I was trying to catch giratina with my ultra balls. It kept escaping and I only had around 10 balls to try and catch it with, so I was just reloading saves right before it. Then one time he slid on screen and homeboy was fkkin SHINY. I had no idea what shiny giratina looked like and honestly my jaw dropped and I just stared for like a straight two minutes. I immediately used my master ball then lol. I still have that from when I was small, passed all the way down to my ultra moon:)

I remember when i first found giratina in pokemon pearl. At the time I didnt know it was hiding in that cave and just explored it for funsies so when i found this dark and edgy dragon, seven year old me was kinda scared but super excited. Its a really weird and awesome feeling of wonder i havent really felt with a pokemon game ever since.

Gen 4 was a decade ago and it would be weird if they tried to all of a sudden add in another legendary to the creation trio. I wouldn't mind a legendary based off an angel but I think it needs to be separated from giratina at least story wise.

Yep, because back then, they had to actually be creative. Sacrificed graphics(which still look amazing, because of the style) for game play and story. The new games sacrifice basically everything but hey, they're 3D so that means they're better!

He was banished to the distortion realm by Arceus, who is the in game form of god, for his destructive nature and now rules over the distortion realm which can kinda of be considered Pokémon hell. I remember the first time I encountered Giratina in Diamond. I had no idea what I was in for. Shadow Force completely caught me by surprise and the fact that there was no story about getting to it also didn't help. Looking back, I though Giratina was a McGuffin Pokemon that was just there like Farfetch'd or Dunsparce, but when Platinum came out, that's when I saw it's hidden meaning. Now I can see things about legendaries with no backstory long before they make a third version or sequel. Except for Necrozma, that one caught me by surprise
Distortion World Giratina was, in my opinion, the best legendary fight. Everything from the world, to the music, to the design of Giratina was perfect.
Ill never forget my first time playing platinum and going into Giratinas own little world to fight him when I was a kid. I miss the old Pokemon. When it was good.

Well you cant, You could only get it because of a Event in HeartGold + SoulSilver. If im Correct the Event only Lasted Until Black and White Came out, In the event You Would be Able to Get Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Arceus, But you cant anymore. You would need a Action Replay to be able to do the Event.

Ill always love platinum it was the first pokemon game I played I got it off a friend. I remember the reveal of giritina I was so shocked when it rose from the shadows from that moment it became my favorite pokemon.
I really hope this game gets a remake for the Switch, since they’re moving platforms again. I unfortunately never got to experience this firsthand, as my first game was White 2 and I never got any of the previous games. But I REALLY REALLY want to experience this for myself, as Giratina is by far my favorite legendary dragon. Absolutely stunning creature, and an amazing theme to go along with it. Incredible.
I remember my first encounter. I was with my dad, and I had played so much he knew the battle theme. I entered the battle and started whimpering. He heard the battle theme and went "Hey, that's different." He looked over at my screen and just made this laughing sort of "oh shit" noise. When I saw Giratina vanish, I closed my DS. I was a small child at the time and those pixels just scared me. Dad opened it, and tried for himself despite not knowing how to play the game. He tossed a pokeball, not an ultra ball, timer ball, but a pokeball and caught it on the first attempt. I didn't really know what to say. Satan, welcome to the pokemon team. You now are under the control of a trainer who nearly shit himself at the sight of you.
Giratina's ultra space should have been the distortion world. It didn't have to be a large piece of the distortion world but it should be the distortion world.
What I find interesting about Giratina's cry is that its transcript differs depending on the form it's encountered in. Origin Forme: *"Giygogagohgwooh!"* Altered Forme: *"...Bishaan!"*

I restarted my Platinum save file the other day and caught Giratina yesterday That’s when I remembered one of the main reasons Platinum is my favourite pokemon games. The build-up, the Distortion World, the theme, the fight itself, it’s all great.
Pokémon Platinum was my first pokemon game ever. I remember when me and a friend of mine used to play nintendo games and always thought that this game was only an info game, because of the professor at the beginning who asks you if you need info about the game, but then a day I decided to go through and clicked: no info needed...well that opened a new world to me, for never playing a pokémon game, and starting with platinum who for me is the best so far, well you can imagine the emotions I felt. I used to watch pokémon diamond and pearl on tv, and founding all those pokémons on tv was such amazing, and so my pokémon experience begins: Pokémon Heartgold( what a masterpiece) and then Fire Red and Emerald versions, then it came out black and white, and personally I think that from then on pokémon games became worst and worst, but I'll never forget that moment I discovered this game, even if Heartgold might be better, I will always prefer platinum for the feelings I felt and shared with my friend.

I remember when i first found giratina in pokemon pearl. At the time I didnt know it was hiding in that cave and just explored it for funsies so when i found this dark and edgy dragon, seven year old me was kinda scared but super excited.
Its a really weird and awesome feeling of wonder i havent really felt with a pokemon game ever since.

@NBK Dragon idk if you want it to be connected with giratina it's way too late. Gen 4 was a decade ago and it would be weird if they tried to all of a sudden add in another legendary to the creation trio. I wouldn't mind a legendary based off an angel but I think it needs to be separated from giratina at least story wise.
Ehh... I mean Giratina gives off the demon vibe but at the end of the day he's just the ruler of the mirror world, much like Dialga rules Time and Palkia Space. *But yeah in general we don't have any angelic holy style pokemon.*

Yep, because back then, they had to actually be creative. Sacrificed graphics(which still look amazing, because of the style) for game play and story. The new games sacrifice basically everything but hey, they're 3D so that means they're better!

He was banished to the distortion realm by Arceus, who is the in game form of god, for his destructive nature and now rules over the distortion realm which can kinda of be considered Pokémon hell. I remember the first time I encountered Giratina in Diamond. I had no idea what I was in for. Shadow Force completely caught me by surprise and the fact that there was no story about getting to it also didn't help. Looking back, I though Giratina was a McGuffin Pokemon that was just there like Farfetch'd or Dunsparce, but when Platinum came out, that's when I saw it's hidden meaning. Now I can see things about legendaries with no backstory long before they make a third version or sequel. Except for Necrozma, that one caught me by surprise

Distortion World Giratina was, in my opinion, the best legendary fight. Everything from the world, to the music, to the design of Giratina was perfect.
Ill never forget my first time playing platinum and going into Giratinas own little world to fight him when I was a kid. I miss the old Pokemon. When it was good.

Well you cant, You could only get it because of a Event in HeartGold + SoulSilver. If im Correct the Event only Lasted Until Black and White Came out, In the event You Would be Able to Get Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Arceus, But you cant anymore. You would need a Action Replay to be able to do the Event.

I really hope this game gets a remake for the Switch, since they’re moving platforms again. I unfortunately never got to experience this firsthand, as my first game was White 2 and I never got any of the previous games. But I REALLY REALLY want to experience this for myself, as Giratina is by far my favorite legendary dragon. Absolutely stunning creature, and an amazing theme to go along with it. Incredible.

I remember my first encounter. I was with my dad, and I had played so much he knew the battle theme. I entered the battle and started whimpering. He heard the battle theme and went "Hey, that's different." He looked over at my screen and just made this laughing sort of "oh shit" noise. When I saw Giratina vanish, I closed my DS. I was a small child at the time and those pixels just scared me. Dad opened it, and tried for himself despite not knowing how to play the game. He tossed a pokeball, not an ultra ball, timer ball, but a pokeball and caught it on the first attempt. I didn't really know what to say.

Giratina's ultra space should have been the distortion world. It didn't have to be a large piece of the distortion world but it should be the distortion world.
That would've been cool. That's one hell of a missed opportunity.

Pokémon Platinum was my first pokemon game ever. I remember when me and a friend of mine used to play nintendo games and always thought that this game was only an info game, because of the professor at the beginning who asks you if you need info about the game, but then a day I decided to go through and clicked: no info needed...well that opened a new world to me, for never playing a pokémon game, and starting with platinum who for me is the best so far, well you can imagine the emotions I felt. I used to watch pokémon diamond and pearl on tv, and founding all those pokémons on tv was such amazing, and so my pokémon experience begins: Pokémon Heartgold( what a masterpiece) and then Fire Red and Emerald versions, then it came out black and white, and personally I think that from then on pokémon games became worst and worst, but I'll never forget that moment I discovered this game, even if Heartgold might be better, I will always prefer platinum for the feelings I felt and shared with my friend.
