- I’ve seen a lot of videos showing how to take off the side plates on your PlayStation 5 and they say to just yank up as hard as you can until it pops off. That’s stupid, don’t do it. You just lift on the top back corner gently and the whole thing pops right off. Tell your friends.

Thanks. I'll try this next time. Yeah, all the ones I'd seen has them laying down on the side. I got real horrors trying to remove and replace my covers for the first time before. So much so I nearly gave up a couple times. I actually ended up breaking one of the prongs when I double-checks afterwards. Hopefully this would be easier. Bookmarked.

They get removed this easily only when they have been removed a couple times before. It gets a bit loose then. I remember the first time i tried to remove even after watching a dozen tutorials. It was horrifying lol. Never again I tried to remove the plates after that 😂
Although keeping the console straight up while removing them might help a bit
I agree i removed them 2 times and i also don't feel like ever wanting to remove them again :D removing them was quite easy, but puting them back on took me hours...

Only took this off once for the SSD 2 tb upgrade. Will use this video again when I upgrade to the 4tb this year.
I think 2TB is enough & just buy an external SSD, I have an external for the PS4 games, Samsung T7 I recommend, but of course it’s up to yourself
@@SpeedyGonzalez58 I had my 2tb for PS5 for about two years and I've already filled it up. Too many game companies don't know how to compress their games sadly.
@@Clyburn9057hiThe external is not that complicated & easy to setup, only thing is you have to transfer PS5 games back from external storage to the PS5 storage easy to do RUclips here will help you out, but if your mind is on the 4TB internal SSD that’s fair enough as long you’re happy & comfortable with your choice of plans. Do you mind telling me is WD Black a good choice for internal SSD, that’s the one I’m looking at on Amazon

It's only that easy because you've taken your panels off numerous times making it easier for them to be removed. If you are someone who's never taken the side panels off your system it's likely going to have to use more force to get them off.
That was literally the second time I’d ever taken them off. The first time was when I installed an SSD.

Ive tried everything on youtube, they wont come off at all they are stuck on. I tried light pressure heavy pressure. ive been trying to slide it off the whole time it wont even move. on one side 2 of the hooks have broke and even after that the remaining hooks cant even slide off. the 2 grooves near the playstation sign wont even go in without force anymore so i assume i just slide it off now, even then it still wont budge

It was much scarier removing the top cover on my PS4 pro. I had to so much force. I expected it to break several times. But it never did.
PS4 pro is easily replaceable though compared to a ps5, if you gunna worry about snapping a plate that’s designed to come off I wouldn’t even bother considering getting a p5 as they need regular cleaning, easy every 2/3 months especially if you GAME.

it is actually easy especially compared to the nightmare ps4 was, but aye y’all should remove your plates, and lift up the vent cover things (they lift just straight up), and with a torq 9 screwdriver take the fan out and clean that mofo I’d say once every 2 weeks or so (month, max)
My house has 5 cats so there’s always a bunch of cat hair stuck to the ports and that’s even with a pretty good air cleaner machine thing (can’t think of the name, has HEPA filters) so seriously, it’s important to clean these obviously

Mine hardly had any dust on it after a year. It just depends on the household

You do not need to clean it out every 2 weeks, the hell? You should clean it out at most once every 3-5 months but even that’s not super necessary. Once every half year will suffice.
