ANYONE WHO ISN'T CLAPPING THEIR HANDS WATCHING THIS BY THE 2 MINUTE TIME MARK, IS LAME. THIS IS 1 TALENTED BUNCH OF KIDS. GOD BLESSED YOU WITH NATURAL TALENT.
Yes. Parts of it, but perhaps more due to the playing style than the written score. Especially the clarinetist. I suspect he has listened to Benny Goodman a time or two as he sort of slides around in that easy relaxed style.
True. This Harry Connick Jr. RUclips shows how he was stuck with the entire audience clapping on 1 and 3 and halfway through he inserts a 5 beat measure and the audience ends up now clapping on 2 and 4 and probably not knowing why. You can see one of the musicians wave his arms up like he is saying, "Yayyy!!!". Of course, the musicians have no problem at all picking up on that and adjusting. Damn fine stuff..... That guitar player is .......MEAN!!!!
It's pretty difficult to find a bad Ellington piece. I've been listening for over a half century and haven't heard a bad one yet.
