Its absolut amazing. Why do I like this so mutch better then every orchestra I have heard before playing this music. Amazing sax solos. How the trumpet trombone section used the mute to create that sound during the clarinet amazing solo playing. I loved the crazy trombone solo and how it got started with some kind of boost from the orchestra. Fantastic
Dear lord. The tone... the technique. High Schoolers? WOW. Blown away... and I am a high school jazz band director. Gorgeous work, everyone. Keep working!
Jesus. I took part in EE in 2008, almost 10 years ago. I can't believe the talent these high school students are still dishing out to this very day. Amazing job.
This is high school!? How is that even possible? 😁 This is even beyond college level. I have a degree in music so I know. This is even beyond average professional. Most kids don’t have the time, energy, or focus to put into musicianship at the high school level to play this well. Impressive! - oh, and Brianna it’s quite cute. That’s quite the energy she’s got! Wish I played sax that well in high school!!

I'm a bari sax player in my college pep band and I always enjoy watching musicians who play with passion and I enjoyed watching the tall blonde play. she brought plenty of energy to her playing
They are playing this like its music they hear it everyday on their top ten on the radio! Great in how they recaptured the feel for this music. Somebody is sure living well in Wisconsin!
They’re definitely doing this with excitement and so much application, hard to find young people so talented nowadays with all this shit music, amazing.
These young men and women are excellent musicians, I know how dedicated you have to be to play their instruments as well as they do. Congratulations on your success and I will be waiting for more music.
Just a question, what are these VERT talented young people doing now? I sincerely hope they are all playing. I would love for them to put the band together again and go on tour...I would pay just to see this kind of music again. LOVE it!!!!!
Bassists from 2016, 2018, and 2019 at EE. I'm currently working on getting my degree in music education with a minor in jazz studies! I love seeing the younger BMJO groups perform.
Love the fact that these youngsters appreciate the masters. We need to remember and acknowledge what went before. I hope, however, that they don't get trapped in the past, or fail to "grow" the music. What should this great music sound like now? I already know how it sounded in the last century.
Actually... it takes a lot of growth to play this music as wonderfully as they do! Mind you I grew up on the Beatles and Hendrix. This is music! Interestingly, I do not like it as much when older musicians play it.
I am impressed by the band's playing. They are really playing with great swinging and showing respect for the jazz tradition. Duke Ellington must be giving an applause beyond the grave. A big up to the student band. Theo Kgapola {Benoni, Gauteng ; S. A. 1501}😂
I love it when young people are so good in traditional Jazz.
Its absolut amazing. Why do I like this so mutch better then every orchestra I have heard before playing this music. Amazing sax solos. We're going to keep it alive
The phrase "traditional jazz" makes me wish I could detonate my own head.
Dear lord. The tone... the technique. High Schoolers? WOW. Blown away... and I am a high school jazz band director. Gorgeous work, everyone. Keep working!
I started playing at the start of school. when i got my instrument, bass clarinet, i couldn’t even play an open G
Et oo.
5 years, you still a director? Looking at pursuing this as a career might as well ask lol
@@fitchyyboiI’m not the director but I go to a school nearby to them, Chris Behrens is still a director there
That sax to clarinet transition though
This is one of the most badass things ive ever watched. I wouldve literally screamed if i was apart of that audience
How can a high school band sound so good. They are amazing for their age excellent talent boys and girls. well done
Well it is Essentially Ellington so this is the best of the best
Does anyone notice how the lead trumpet jumps back to the riser after his solo in down south camp meeting?
Could have gone very badly
@@williamkao5381 at least it didn't

That lead alto is destroying
Are the solos improvised/written by the students? If it is, that's insane. Not only are they incredible performers, they can improvise like pros
They are :)
love seeing other female guitarists in hs bands. really makes me want to practice more lol
I'm nothing short of in love with this band, especially their fantastic reed section. By far my favorite band to listen to from EE 2016.
The groove and the sound is so righteous. These youngsters worked so hard to be this good. Props to their teacher for guiding them to this result.
That Clarinet solo gives me the goosbumps every time I listen to it. These kids got the swing man! Very inspiring.
Actually amazing, especially lead alto on Rockabye River.
The alto players tone is unreal!!!
one of the best high school bands I have ever heard. great solos, keep swinging!

This music looks so fun to play!!!!! The saxophonist goes from playing so smooth to so rockin'.
Music needs to be in every school. keep it accessible. Teach our children well.
I'm a bari sax player in my college pep band and I always enjoy watching musicians who play with passion and I enjoyed watching the tall blonde play. she brought plenty of energy to her playing
That's a high school jazz band?!!? Every one of those kids is amazing! They play like seasoned professionals and I am one so I should know.

Brings back memories playing in the Jazz Ensemble at my Junior High in Oakdale, New York, way back in 1971-1973.

Wow, what an amazing group!! sounds great!!
Non ho parole, sono semplicemente commosso per tanta bravura, bellezza ed entusiasmo di questi ragazzi: chapeau !!
So much energy , so much Talents !
I love that the trumpet soloist in Rockabye River quoted Things To Come, which is a chart my high school band has recently been playing
Great band - good book. Heard them many many years ago, certainly still a pleasure.
high school students sounding like professional musicians!
I tip my hat- from a fellow HS big band sax player. Excellent playing
Bravo !!!!! Standing ovation !
Amazing
Even so many years later and so much more experience playing, these cats really do swing
Simply Amazing
What can I say. Simply awesome
nicely played , LOVED it!!
This has got to be a collection of musicians from different high schools. No way they are from the same school. Very good. Sounds professional
Sorry all from the same school & most are Sophomores.

Not to take anything away from the guys, but dang, the ladies in this band were simply amazing!
The Duke will be applauding the Orchestra from his grave. Well done from the UK.
Foot stompin, finger snappin music, gotta love it. Bring it back? It never really left. They just don't want to promote it. Its all about $$$$$.
Excellent orchestre
That clarinet......that made my heart stop

All the saxes killed it😍😍😍
I liked the trumpet solo, but USE THE MICCCCCCC
As a sound engineer focused on Jazz ensembles, i feel the pain...
Great rides, great harmonies, very creative! HammondB3 Jack

What a special collection of talent. Can’t imagine how much fun it would be to be in that band. Any of these kids in NY or some highly touted schools?
That's neat
Wow,my kinda music, The Duke & Mary Lou would be proud

Trumpet solo spot on!
9:36 onwards sounds like something Lisa or Bleeding Gums Murphy would play on a lonely night in Springfield... :-)
Wow that alto player is insane! She's really got a future.
Молодцы, классно играют
Gawd I love this school. It is like the Curtis of jazz, if you know what I mean.
