- Graduation video I made of the U.S. Army 68W Combat Medic (Health Care Specialist) training that I went through, class 20-16.
Delta Company 232 Med. BN Fort Sam Houston.
Shot using: GoPro HERO Session, GoPro HERO 4 Silver, and Canon 5D Mark iii DSLR with a Canon 50mm f1.4 lens
Edited using: Final Cut Pro X
The 13 dislikes probably couldn't make it through 68w AIT.
Awesome video! I leave for basic after I graduate high school and can't wait to start my 68w training
What month do you ship out on? 68W here going to BCT mid August
I ship out in September. I have a buddy shipping out mid August too. Where is your BCT?
+Mateo Sanchez I ship September also
+Mateo Sanchez Ft. Jackson
Same here.
1:11 guy digs barrel in the ground to get up lol
Yeah, I cringed when I saw that.
Glad to see I’m not the only one that saw it
beautiful video! really good job guys! I hope that everything goes well from at italian guy
Leaving for Bullis tomorrow, Foxtrot 232. We set the standard.
Just got done at Ft. Sam. S/O Bravo 232
Hi, guys! I'm Ukrainian soldier and I want say only : Thank you for your service Ladies and Gentlemen! God bless America!
God bless you snd stay safe with these Russia tensions rising
How you doing?
Rip
@@Fucev Stop with the negativity! It's not a Rip yet. This is serious it's not even a joke. I support Ukraine 🇺🇦 alot I'm from United States 🇺🇸 and I will be going into the army soon to be a Combat Medic. People think war is a game but it's not so please Don't say negative things brotha. Russia is our enemy as of the moment!

This video actually made me cry. I want to be a 68W medic so bad but everyone i know is against it. I’ve watched this over and over again and this is my dream.
Do what makes you happy don't let others hold you back
Me to I went into tears cause this is what I want to do so bad😭😭😭
I’m so glad I’m not the only one 😭
You aren't missing much, bud. You're gonna be deployed into a clinic somewhere around the world and do FUCK ALL. Other than PT around 4-5 am It'll feel like an office job. 68 W has seriously gone downhill since the Army implemented "Life Saving Training" for one member per infantry squad.
A 68 whiskey is essentially a stepping stone towards preparing/going into the 75th Ranger Regiment.
How’s it going? It’s been 3 years have you done it or decided on something different
I was 11B and my heroes were combat medics, thank you docs for taking care of us.
Insane Sanity That's a mutual feeling, brother. No better feeling than being called Doc and being trusted by you guys.
Not sure where you were...
I was a 91B back in 1979...went to Grenada for 4 weeks as a Combat Medic even though I was a 91D Operating room Tech...Yes I was first a 91B...
Then was sent to the Gulf war and did 6 months there...saw some pretty horrendous injuries...But I did the best I can.
91 B was the old Combat Medic code...dont know when it was changed to 68W
Kaiser thank you for your service
I was, also an, 11B -- National Guard. Prior service
@@playerzero2236 yes you got it man 😀
Great Job and great Video. As a retired 68W3F and father of to current Soldiers (one at Ft. Sam now) Embrace that there is no greater service than to kneel next to your fellow Soldier and render aid. When I have Your Wounded. DUSTOFF
Keith Fricker you know what they say: give me your weary, your wounded, and your sick, and ill patch their ass up so they can go home one more time.
Amen!
Keith Fricker it was 91A in 1990, 91B if it was not the first mos for prior service, do you remember?? I am proud to be E232, 8/8/90
I'd definitely consider the Medical side, having anxiety might make it difficult but If I choose to pursue it, I'm not turning back and I'll make myself better. I love to help people, and if I have what it takes and decide to change up my future, this is the way I'd go. Thanks to everyone enlisting, it must be so hard but it's inspiring.
Thats amazing. :)
We appreciate people like ya.
Sarah Bonser I’m in the same mindset, best of luck to you🇺🇸
How did it go
How’s it go brother? I saw this comment 3 years ago and have been serving since..
Great Job, Soldier Medic! You guys were a great team and I know you played a big part in that. I know you'll continue to do great things. Stay motivated and never stop learning! You pump me up!!! :-)
Wanna be a Medic? Does this movie excite and Motivate you? Great! If you have any degree of psychological problems, DON'T. I don't give a shit how minor you make your mental issues. DON'T BOTHER ENLISTING. This is a HIGH STRESS life. If you cry about "Angry Words". DO NOT ENLIST. You will have no control over your life, This ain't the fucking Coast Guard. GO AWAY... Seek life elsewhere. A SOLDIER is a very very hard Job.
CPT115FA if anybody can do this, according to what you said, then they got the guts to do it
CPT115FA you literally just encouraged nearly everyone who read your comment 😂
I'll be doing this, this winter!!!
Are you in AIT now?
Vilma Salamanca I wish you the best of luck!
fake
How'd it go??
Good luck! I’d love to be a 68W or 68C i’m not sure i’d like to fight but at the same time i’m terrified to be hurt
It's my dream to be a medic. I want to do 68W and eventually 18D. I get up at 4am every morning to workout.
Did this back in 1986 (when the MOS was 91A) at Ft. Sam and Bullis.
Great to see they have "professionalized" the MOS now!
This has got to be one of the best MOS/Jobs in the Army now that they are required to be licensed EMTs.
Just finished week one of AIT. Kind of worried about the modules and NREMT. Can't wait for this stuff though. - Echo 232

Incredible video! I'm so happy I found this. I'm currently a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) working in a hospital, and my dream is to join the army and be a 68W and further my career in the medical field. It definitely looks like hard work, but it is extremely interesting and inspiring. You guys are amazing!
I'm currently at Fort Sam and we leave for Bullis on October 30th. I was wondering what you used to film this and how you got it OKed?? :)
MollyReisenauer it all depends on your company. I was in Delta 232, and they had us put our names in if anyone wanted to make the graduation video. So I got chosen to edit and film, they specifically wanted us to use GoPros. But they let me use my Canon 5D Markiii DSLR to take actual photos during other stages of training. I ended up brining the Canon with me to the field, so some of the shots are from that with a 50mm f1.4 Canon lens. We were only allowed to "film" Bullis. Hope this helps and good luck with the rest of AIT.
Wish I could be a medic.....nursing will do i suppose lol
Do a paramedic program! Closest thing!!!
Jackie if you have a BSN..you can join .
I ship May 1st for basic and I'm going to be a combat medic! Love this video and 68W all the way hooah!
Future medics enjoy AIT and the excitement which it entails. Your future in the regular army will either be in the Motor Pool or in a clinic doing everlasting blood pressures and sick call forms muahaha
Not sure where you got that from...but everyone does time in the motor pool if you have vehicles assigned to you.
As for taking BP and sick call...who else is supposed to do that...I mean that's part of the job and there are far worse jobs in the Army.
Medic's are some of the most respected and specialized soldiers in the unit.
They definitely have the best looking females (between them and the S1/Personnel).
What camera did you use to film this? The quality is amazing!
Simmare S I apologize for such a late reply, I try to get to everyone's questions as best I can. Anyway most of it was filmed on a GoPro session or my Canon 5D mark iii DSLR with a 50mm f1.4 lens. I appreciate the kind words, it was fun to put together.
@@DjEaubay hey, were you a private going through this? Or an instructor? I'd be shocked if they let a cadet use a gopro during training.
Andrew Jones we aren’t cadets. We’re soldier medics and they can get a memo(memorandum) from the captain giving the approval.
@@DG_2725 Once you graduate you're Soldier medics, but until you graduate it wasn't a title you had earned at the time. A cadet simply means "a young trainee in the armed services or police force." as per the definition. :) Just as you aren't a Soldier until you earn your Values Tags after N.I.C.
And thanks for the info. I am prior service going back in as a 68W, so I was wondering how to make this happen.
hope the fool that had his barrel in the ground(1:07 mark) doesn't do that when he's deployed...makes himself victim #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big Tnx! for your service !....I was a Combat Corpsman and Op. Rm Technician during Vietnam War 1971..Fort Sam Houston Training for both MOS's ..Disabled Vn Era Veteran and Veteran Employment and Benefits Rep. [ Ret.] US Army Dana Brinkmeier
Great Video. I was with Delta Co. 232 Class 03-96 "Tazmedics" 20 years ago. Great to see the evolution in training. Good luck with all your careers.
I was in fort sam 6 months ago. They still have that picture of the tazmedic on the wall where your drill pad used to be.
I was a Taz Medic myself, about 13 years ago. I guess were dragons now.
10MNTMEDIC haha bravo bulldogs here brother.
I reclassed to 68W as a Taz Medic in 05.
@@koopasteve I’m in D co 232 right now and Delta & Alpha are the two best companies known throughout all six companies.. Delta Dragons will forever stay on top🐉
This is cool, this is the video that convinced me to pick this MOS and now I'm in delta company 232! Comes full circle Haha
This is the video that inspired me to become a medic. Been doing it for almost 5 years now, thank you for uploading this, it genuinely put me on a completely differently life path.
This seems too calm.
I'm a bit worried I swear in as 68W Wednesday
Well it starts with BCT, which is some boring ass 9 weeks of just pain, boredom, suffering and PT. You also learn how to survive in the army and how to not immediately die in a combat zone. BCT is what you make honestly, learn from it as much as you can and remember IET is not like the real army. So when you think what is happening is bullshit, just keep you mouth shut, figure out the lesson (usually it is how to maintain staying awake and patience, war is 99% waiting around). Then you ship to AIT, you get stick in a boring NREMT phase (pass the tests, learn everything you can and accept more suffering as everyone else on post has way more privileges and free time than you). After you graduate NREMT (6 weeks later) you enter Whiskey phase.... which is where you get 1.5 weeks of LPC which is just learning sick call and how to treat everyday problems your soldiers will have (best way to seperate yourself from other medics in the real army) and then you hit Field Craft.... that is everything you saw in the video. It is the badass high speed, mixing how to be an infantryman and the medic. It is calm lecture environment, but when you do practicals, hands on and trauma lanes. It isn't calm at all, but I love it at least
Keane McVeigh This is the "calm after the storm" believe me I had many guidelines on what could and could not be shown in this video. If you are looking for footage of all the times I got dropped and got smoked this is the wrong video. Believe me BCT / AIT are always in a state of flux, but it will still challenge you like you've never been challenged before.
Just finished week one of AIT. Kind of worried about the modules and NREMT. Can't wait for this stuff though. - Echo 232
My baby Brutha is a Combat medic in our United States Army and I'm so proud of him I really admire his strength and courage.
Ahh I can't wait to enlist for this job 07/11/2017 with my twin💕 it's been our dream! #HOOAH
Alpha Co 232nd Bn here. Going to 4 weeks until graduation!
Watching this reminded me that im on the right track. Wish a future 68w luck with MEPs.
This was my class, I get out tomorrow after 8 years ❤
Excellent video! It was great to see how much things have changed since I went through in 2003...we never had such great camera equipment and no grad video sadly, glad to see y'all could document the experience! I plan to share this video my fellow medics (some still in), keep up the good work Soldier Medic!
Awesome video. I'm here at bravo company. I'm excited to get to whiskey phase. Was this film all on a GoPro? Some shots look like they're from a dslr or something
+John Lee GoPro and Canon 5D Mark III
+ConcertMusik thanks! Man, you're a beast. You brought a full-on mark 3 with you! That must have been heavy
+John Lee Yeah man was a bit of a pain to lug around, but was that and a canon 50mm f1.4 lens so wasn't all that bad. You will enjoy whiskey phase, it is a ton better then EMT.
what are the rules on filming? Would I be able to bring a go pro at AIT
Its dependent on your company, you can bring a camera to AIT but you won't be able to film much until after you pass the NREMT. The first chunk of AIT is much like BCT, but in Whiskey they let you film some training. Hope this helps.
Off to Sill for basic in January then Sam for AIT can't wait.
Same here!
Just graduated from sill a month and a half ago ago now in Fort Sam a quarter of the way done. Good luck to you! If you have any questions let me know!
Gretty Ortiz I am going to Sill on Monday, what's it like?
My Dad served as a medic for Army Recon in Germany. He said he saw enough blood to last him a lifetime. Much respect to all who serve for our freedom.

Both of yall need to google OPSEC. I get yall are excited to open a new chapter in your life, but troop movements and military trainings are not to be shared--especially on social media.
thanks Dylan for the advice. I looked it uo and I'll be more careful.

As a retired SFC army Medic, everyone should respect and give respect, dont be so uptight but take care of business, you cant joke and smoke with in service area always GY6
Yo, I'll be doing that training soon, so according to your video I can wear a GoPro? I really want to get footage of my training as well.
just a question do you have to ask to film this
kaleb 0rtega you can have a GoPro at camp bullis with the commanders permission
Legends say there are over 1000 different depictions of a male genitalia on the rocks at Camp Bullis. No matter how many times we moved them towards the back of the wall, it seemed as if they were crawling back when no one was looking.
Some say it was the Cadres
Some say it was the Drill Sergeants
I think it was the Warrior Spirit
Hoah?
Dear God thank you for all these wonderfully Brave smart intelligent Heroes
videos like these make me excited to be a 68w after high school!!

Currently a Delta Dragon!
How’s it going? I’m on the fence on joining real soon and wondering if it’s the right decision for me.
I love the army. I wouldn't change my decision to join if I could. However, I am changing my MOS cause I've been injured, so I'll be going home to heal, then heading off to my new AIT. I also wasn't a fan of 68W with how everything is run here. You'll hear that this place is like Disneyland. It's not. Things have changed a lot since there are too many shitbags who ruined all the fun for us. @@alextrochezgomez1266
Deirdre Humphries thanks for the heads up and I’m sorry to hear about you injury. You can tell me what injury it is or not but I either way I hope you get well soon :). I hope your new job meets to your standards and is something you want to pursue in life. Whereas, the shitbags that ruined the fun for you were either male or female (given to the complications on how some men treat women in the military) I hope it wasn’t something that someone did to you like put their hands on you or anything like that. Being in the medical field (like actually on the field) is something I’ve always wanted to do. So whatever happens in either of our paths we’ll push through it. We got this!
No, its nothing bad like that. People partied too much in the past and got into a lot of trouble, so the army made 68W more difficult by putting solider medics on a leash. We have less freedoms.@@alextrochezgomez1266
I was D-232 now the barracks(spaceship) I was in is long tore down I miss ft.sam it was the best base ever to live on!
