Greetings Anuli Hope all is well with you. Thank you for sharing this. I have heard so many stories about UK scammers, especially happening to international migrants to the UK. I will most likely fall in the category where I won't have a guarantor (I wouldn't expect my job to be it lol ) so I would need to have a few months at least 6months saved up to possibly find a place. My job salary if I'm still working with my company then...will be sufficient to find the flat I choose or need. I would probably book an AIRBNB for the first month or two since in my case I have a pet, and that is a whole other youtube video perhaps you can shed some light on? I've noticed in the UK particularly Scotland, that there are A LOT of flats that do not allow pets. And even some home rentals. There are some but more none than some. But you are ABSOLUTELY correct about doing those crosschecks on the letting agencies. There would be no way in the world I would make a deal via email and viewing unless I went to the actual office or gave the actual office a call using their online website information. Poor guy was so desperate and all the checks checked off because it looked good on paper and his search. So sorry that had happened to him. I hope someone would find it in his heart to find a place for him due to that. this housing was good because I try to keep up with the BBC Scotland news weekly. It great having someone on here who can share these sorts of things including the housing and expenses living in Scotland etc. Take care and have a great weekend! 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤
Hi Alicia, You are right that a lot of places for rent say no pets allowed. I think it has to do with the landlords wanting the house to be in good condition when the tenant is moving out. Some landlords say that pets leave a smell in the house which is difficult to get off. I don't know if this would be the case if people cared well for their pets but we once went to view an apartment and the apartment was stinky. It seemed the previous tenants had a pet in the apartment and the pet must have urinated and maybe even done number 2 on the rugged floor quite frequently. Needles to say we did not rent the apartment.
@@menvicstudio I figured that was maybe one of the reasons smell and scratching or damaging the furniture or structure. typo in my above comment I meant to say this was a good video not * this housing was good! lol
Thank you for sharing this vital information ❤
Nobody decent in London asks you to pay upfront for 6 months. It was huge red flag
