Basically, using right hand is a way of respect, be it eating or even giving something to someone, just like we all shake hands only with our right hand. Doesn't matter if you are a right handed or a left handed person.
And I suggest you to ask somebody local in Munnar to know about the beautiful places which you shouldn't miss.
    Happy stay in Kerala.

Kochi, Kerala should promote the Kochi-Lakshadeep pack for international tourists who want to enjoy the beautiful deep blue sea and coasts. If Lakshadeep would promote tourism with standard infrastructure, it would beat Maldives, because geographically and by landscapes, both Lakshadeep and Maldives are identical. The only difference is that Maldives is way more appealing to international tourists.
I am sure, Lakshadeep can reach up to that level of tourism if they innovate their airport facilities, airlines, transportation and standard infrastructure.

Brothers the reason behind we call kerala as a goods own country ➡️
All the religions of the world were first propagated in India in Kerala eg:Christianity was spread by St. Thomas in AD 52. The first Islamic mosque was built in 629 CE. Kerala is called God's own country because all religions existed like this.

So youve reached Munnar.. my favorite place in Kerala. Since you are from Germany, you would be used to cool/ cold weather. I was freezing. But its so beautiful. The tea gardens/ plantations are so unique and its awesome. Munnar has one of the best teas, you can get tea crazy. My special one is orange flavored tea. The scenery is spectacular. Especially if you go into the plantations etc. Munnar is famous for its tea. The chocolates are super.. And they also have the most wonderful cotton clothes. Super soft and lovely quality. If youre interested, you could perhaps buy a shirt. Or perhaps try out a kurta.. Kerala food is absolutely mouth watering.
Anyway, all the best. Have a great day tomorrow in Munnar.

In most Asian cultures, the left hand is typically used to wash the rear (and the right hand to pour the water from a mug/can onto your left hand) after you do your business in the toilet. Even though we do wash our hands with soap (typically 2 to 3 times), the left hand is kinda reserved for the "dirty stuff" ... so everyone normally eats with the right hand that would be considered "clean" .... and I guess over centuries, it has translated into all kinds of cultural things like it's only auspicious to give/take money or gifts with right hand ... even though the earlier logic of left hand being dirty has pretty much disappeared with the use of soap in this century.
Of course, those who are lefties will switch hands for some of the above activities.

A lil about the communist background of Kerala.
Kerala had the first democratically elected communist government in the world .
Helped a lot in eradicating caste based and religious discrimination and marginalising .
But the concept of communism is very diff from what was seen jn Russia amd Eastern euopean countries... Its an indianised version of communism.
This party CPIM , along with Their main opposition, UDF helped a lot in helping the state becoming the top in india in Education, health, HDI ,civic sense and similar indicators .
This healthy competition is what made kerala diff from rest of the states ..But they all have their drawbacks in policies and execution, dirty politics nowadays.
On top of that the union govt in delhi is a bit unwelcoming towards our needs and culture, which is actually frustrating at times . Dirtier right wing conservative politics .
Especially recent days . Industrial sector and businesses and are some fields we need to improve on .
Hope this helped you people . Feel free to ask for clarifications .
