Kochi, Kerala should promote the Kochi-Lakshadeep pack for international tourists who want to enjoy the beautiful deep blue sea and coasts. If Lakshadeep would promote tourism with standard infrastructure, it would beat Maldives, because geographically and by landscapes, both Lakshadeep and Maldives are identical. The only difference is that Maldives is way more appealing to international tourists. I am sure, Lakshadeep can reach up to that level of tourism if they innovate their airport facilities, airlines, transportation and standard infrastructure.

In most Asian cultures, the left hand is typically used to wash the rear (and the right hand to pour the water from a mug/can onto your left hand) after you do your business in the toilet. Even though we do wash our hands with soap (typically 2 to 3 times), the left hand is kinda reserved for the "dirty stuff" ... so everyone normally eats with the right hand that would be considered "clean" .... and I guess over centuries, it has translated into all kinds of cultural things like it's only auspicious to give/take money or gifts with right hand ... even though the earlier logic of left hand being dirty has pretty much disappeared with the use of soap in this century. Of course, those who are lefties will switch hands for some of the above activities.
