I always get so much comfort from your vlogs but this was one especially lovely. I adored the fact that you chose to not fight all the winter blues stuff with resets and routines and just embraced the cosy season. Loved it.
Even though I’m planning on pursuing a literature-focused graduate degree, I absolutely love comp studies ESPECIALLY Bitzer’s Rhetorical Situation when combined with encouraging students to write in their natural dialect when it fits the situation (Appalachian dialect and sociolinguistics nerd here). Also, your vlogs about writing your diss make both the perfect writing break and motivation for these final papers. Also, THAT QUOTE 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Congrats on submitting your chapter!!! I defended last month!! So happy to be done with the program, but also I'm ridiculous so I'm already thinking about how to revise the diss for the book. (That feels a bit more in my control than the job search I guess...idk)
@@SarahFischerVlogs ty! It's a process! you'll get there!! though I feel like a pure traditional monograph probably won't do your work justice down the road. I love watching you work through your diss process. maybe it's weird idk, our fields our p different, and vlogging truly is so strange, but it's so cool to watch someone else puzzling through how to write a diss when i had very few other models to work from.
Sending off a chapter always feels so good! I told my supervisor I'd send them a chapter by December 21st so I'm currently revising it. What I find hard is knowing when to stop working on a piece of writing, because it can truly be an infinite task of perfecting it but you got to stop at some point. How many more chapters are you planning on writing for the diss? (Also the outfit with the dress and the boots is so cute!!)
Such a cozy vibe on this vlog! My next deadline is submitting my final interview guide (for upcoming interviews in January) to my advisor on the 19th. I only have minor edits to do but I have been putting them off 😅

Omg! Bess Fox was legit my M.A. thesis advisor this past spring! Small world.
Thank God you are always there for us Sarah! Not sure what we would do without your vlogs♥️♥️🥺🥺
So sweet ❤🥹
It was a nice Monday motivation. I got to finish a bulk of writing in the next two days. This vlog is going to come in handy for the motivation!
Yay! Makes me so happy to hear!
