Stock Muffler vs GT Take-off vs Muffler Delete on 2006 v6 Mustang

- I wanted to improve the sound on my stock 2006 v6 mustang so I replaced the stock muffler with one I got off a wrecked mustang GT for $25. Worth it in my opinion but I do like the sound of the car a lot without the muffler all together.
I’ve had both these set ups and they both sound good in person but I like the gt muffler slightly better because it sounds more like it came like that from the factory
I had muffler delete but drone was too annoying so I put the stock gt muffler and it’s not very loud but it does have a nice low tone to it and no drone so I’m keeping it like that
Also if you just unbolt the muffler for muffler delete, the pipe that was connected to the muffler will rattle on the highway after a while
Muffler delete sounds the cleanest

Haha thanks! I actually ended up changing out the gt take off muffler with the Mac Boom Tube straight muffler
@@azeem.husainn you should make a video on the Boom Tube! Best axle back for the 4.0s IMO, price and sound is just great. I wanted to get one for my 2009 v6 but apparently Mac went out of business so I instead got the dual Flowmaster Outlaws meant for the GT and just used the right one.
@@sanderb2668 oh wow. I didn't know that! I really love this exhaust (2 years+ with it now). I got some sound lips but haven't posted them yet. I'll try to soon though
@@azeem.husainn no rush man just think the Boom Tube sounds sick. Did you run into the infamous issue of the tip being too big for the exhaust hole and slightly burning the bumper?
@@sanderb2668 I did notice that it gets really close to the bumper and is a little offset from the cutout, but I don't think it was actually making contact. Maybe I got lucky
What kinda muffler do I look for because I want that sound of the second one you showed
I went to a junkyard and got a stock gt muffler

If you did a muffler delete, would the engine light come on and you need a tuner or would it not come on at all?
Raiders County I’ve taken my muffler off before and no check engine light turns on but the car does feel a little slower.
If you replace it with another muffler you may feel a slight increase in performance but it's pretty small

Angel Emir it’s pretty simple. You need like a saw for one part but there’s tons of RUclips videos on how to do it. Or take it to a mechanic and have him do it
Angel Emir you actually don’t even need a saw, just a couple of sockets and an hour max
Takes 20 mins to cut it off, whenever inspection comes around, take it to my guy and he welds an aftermarket muffler on for 20. Go home and then cut it off again.

James Lupkin thanks man. Just want to clarify that there was a drone with the muffler delete but with the gt takeoff muffler there was not

Nope. No sensors are removed either so you should be good
azeem husain neat that’s what I was thinking , now the only thing holding my back from doing this is the fact that this is hella illegal where I live , but I can work around that

azeem husain yea I’ve seen them , they sound good , I’m planning on just doing this until I can get a cat back . Before all the exhaust tho I’m doing throttle , intake and tuning it
