'Pink Palace' is not the name. The actual name is Ahsan Manzil which was built during the growing influence of colonial British rule in India. Due to political influence the Zamindars and wealthy people of the time gradually shifted to western style of architecture and the building was colored as Pink (May be they liked that color or may have some significance in modernity at that time). As it has this Pink color so it is also known as "Pink Palace". SO basically no particular reason for it being pink. And the reason behind the orange colored hair or beard is that they use Henna on them :D

Orange dye is called Mehendi in Hindi, Bangla and Hina in Urdu. It's a natural dye made out of a plant. It's very popular among Muslims of Indian subcontinent.
To the man in the video, NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER pull your money or show your money to everyone while you are in a foreign country or even Australia. Your money should be folded individually in order so you can pull a single bill out at a time. As if you have a loaf of bread in your pocket and you are pulling the first slice out and that bill should be the lowest denomination. The higher bills will be in the back, lowest in the front. Fold your bill in half then half again. 1,5,10,20 etc. you might have 10 , 1 dollar bills then 5, 2 dollar bills and so forth. Any where you go ( THEY HAVE PRISONS) with murderers and thieves that don’t care. Think survival first, not ignorance
The newer parts of the city seems like a well maintained city! And the food there would be likely healthier than the street food in the crowded and older parts of the city. Am Impressed with Bangladesh development! Did you really pay 10000 taka or 10 taka for the tea? Wondering what is the actual tea value there? Take the rickshaw for short distances if it's too hot to walk. Hope you get a cab with AC. This kind of traffic jam is also common sometimes in Indian cities too like Mumbai or Kolkata, just depends on time of day. I try to avoid cabs during work hour times like few hours around 9 AM amd 5 PM. 😊❤
So was I!! I didn't know what to expect but I was surprised! I paid 10, can you tell me where in the video it says 10,000? I thought I fixed that mistake in editing haha
0:55 - Just to be on the safe side, you should be careful while having streetside food because of the spread of bacterial infection in a new region. Only try the shops that look fresh and clean. 1:35 - Tea is extremely popular in Bangladesh. 2:51 - The shop behind you 'Sweets of Bengal' is really good for desi sweets. 4:28 - There are many modern apartment and commercial buildings in Gulshan and Dhanmondi. These are one of the most affluent area in Dhaka. 7:04, 13:20 - The roads can be dangerous sometimes. When you cross the road and there are people around, cross with them in groups. In narrow alleys, you have to watch your foot because some vehicles can come too close. 7:07, 8:35 - That guy is being disrespectful. Please avoid them whenever you can. Like don't make eye contact and walk away confidently and having a purposeful look. 8:02 - For directions Google Maps is great. You can also take a rickshaw. 10:30 - I am not sure why the palace is pink. During the time when it was built the color pink was considered beautiful. I don't know about any other reason. 10:50 - These are illiterate people and an embarrassment to us. Move away quickly at once. If they are being too pushy, then ask someone around for help. 11:05 - Beard and hair is dyed using henna paste. The reason is to hide gray and white hair! It is also permissible in Islam to dye hair and beard using henna. 11:36 - The boats are mainly to cross the river. Some people also take things with them. Bigger boats called 'launches' take people to the southern district of Barishal, Patuakhali and Chadpur. 15:09, 15:53 - Never eat those again please! Unhygienic food for sure. Both of them, ice-cream and sweet. 18:40 - Uber and Pathao are the best for car ride service. 19:50 - You can take rickshaws for long distance travels too, but they are not allowed to run on many highway roads. Ask a couple of them for the price and go for the lowest one.

your last word in absolutely right that this city doesn’t sleep.😂😂😂. But, if you want to explore the real beauty of Bangladesh, visit the country sides. Out side Dhaka, you can go Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal,Srimongol, Bandarban. All the districts have natural as well as historical palaces where you can borden your horizon.
Hi, I’m from NYC, I would recommend you guys to visit the countryside to experience actual Bangladeshi culture and natural beauty with world greatest hospitality. Thank you
Hi! You should have visited various traditional territory in Bangladesh. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh but there are numerous amazing location, such as Sundarban in Khulna,Cox's Bazar Sea beach,Jaflong in Sylhet etc. However, thank you for visiting my country.
Mehendi (Henna) tattoo is a thing that girls use a lot in this continent. The beard is orange because they dyed their hair and beard with henna.it's also a common thing in our country.
go to the rural side of Bangladesh. You will see the actual beauty of BD. And don't try food from just anywhere. Find good restaurants. Not all restaurants have good food. Google ratings of the restaurants.

Great vid as always Josie.. looks fun but I think I'm gonna give Bangladesh a miss... probs a fab cultural insight and the people seem lovely from your vid.. but the traffic? Ha ha might get back to Kolkata for the 2nd time in 35 years but I think that will do for the north east... 😊❤
Daym that was insane ! Old Dhaka gives me a Old Delhi vibe , very busy and rickshaws ruling the streets Kudos to you both for keeping a happy face all the way through
22:06 Hi Josie... I'm surprised you missed to notice the multiple packets of "Milo" there!!! 😀 Love from India... Come back to Kerala (Malappuram, Calicut...the northern districts basically) lots of places and varieties of food to experience. Love your Vlogs... Say Hi to Michael. Warm regards...
As an Irish Bengali, I know Dhaka can be a lot, so do fine the quieter areas where possible to detox lol. I think 90% of Bengalis prefer anywhere else but Dhaka unless you have a home in the nicer, relatively quieter areas. I do hope you get out of Dhaka. If you need any tips for restaurants or anything ask and people here if not there will help for sure.
I see foreign tourists or vloggers come to Bangladesh and roam around in Dhaka mostly which must be frustrating for them with all the traffic and chaotic city vibe. If I could, I'd stand up at the airport every day and advise them to escape from Dhaka city as fast as possible to the villages. Yes, you'd find the real Bangladesh in its villages. Tourist places like Cox's Bazar, St. Martin's Island, Chittagong Hill Tract, Sylhet, Sundarbans, etc. are definitely good and worth a visit. But if you don't have much time in hand then my suggestion will always be- avoid everything and explore the villages in different parts of Bangladesh. Anyway, welcome abroad Josie.
Looks like a lot of hustle and bustle there! So much happening! Doesn't look like there are many foreigners, so maybe people are curious about what you're doing and where're from??? I'm such an impatient person, so I'm not sure that I'd like all that traffic congestion - 🙃. But it all looks and sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing.

So sad about your accident. I feel sorry about it. Have a good and safe journey. Take love from Bangladesh. ❤❤

It looks so chaotic but so fun in Bangladesh! (And hot)
Plenty of bangladeshi people in malaysia, very friendly even though many treat them like dirt here. Their friendliness and humility warms my heart
Everyone we met in Bangladesh was SO friendly and sweet.
your last word in absolutely right that this city doesn’t sleep.😂😂😂.
Wow your Channel is growing fast. Congratulations you’ll be road to 1Mil by end of the year or sooner. Love your personality ❤
You should go hillsides of Bangladesh to enjoy the natural beauty.
Hahahaha
Thank you visited Bangladesh ❤🇧🇩❤️
Hi, I’m from NYC, I would recommend you guys to visit the countryside to experience actual Bangladeshi culture and natural beauty with world greatest hospitality. Thank you
How incredibly generous you are!❤
Instead of saying 'how much?', you can say ' koto taka?' So that they can get you easily
Thank you!
Josie's on a vacation far away! 🎶 Have Fun Josie! :)
go to the rural side of Bangladesh. You will see the actual beauty of BD. And don't try food from just anywhere. Find good restaurants. Not all restaurants have good food. Google ratings of the restaurants.
❤
I just wanted to say congratulations on your 700k+.
I find it somewhat amazed and feeling genuinely happy for you because I started following when you 2k + only.. well done Josie and Michael.
Josie and Michael you guys are simply amazing. Thank you so much for visiting and loving Bangladesh the way it is.
Hi Josie
I gues, you don’t know yet that Bangladeshi people really like them who are friendly. You are so friendly and jolly person. Therefore, if you visit any family in Bangladesh as a guest, then they will really love you 🎉🎉
Great vid as always Josie.. looks fun but I think I'm gonna give Bangladesh a miss... probs a fab cultural insight and the people seem lovely from your vid.. but the traffic? Ha ha might get back to Kolkata for the 2nd time in 35 years but I think that will do for the north east... 😊❤
Josie,
Woah what a blog, kept me glued to the screen :)
Stay safe and careful :)
Thank you! Will do!

welcome to bangladesh!
hope you have a great time in dhaka!
Daym that was insane !
Old Dhaka gives me a Old Delhi vibe , very busy and rickshaws ruling the streets
Kudos to you both for keeping a happy face all the way through
Definitely Old Delhi vibes, more Jama Masjid/Matia Mahal side than Chandi Chowk. Beautiful chaos.
Ah I was waiting for your next Bangladesh vlog and it’s here finally! Loved it and cannot wait for more! 😀
Thank you for visit Bangladesh❤
Hope you enjoy in Bangladesh very much☺
Welcome to Bangladesh!
Thank you!
Great video!!!i work with so many bangoli people! I was so curious to see their country! Hope they get lots of tourists! The deserve it!
I loved every minute of my year in Dhaka! The most welcoming, kind people!
