Its a shame the end of his career didn't match the beginning. I wish he'd shown more drive when we were getting relegated. I applaud that he didn't walk out when we were down. But I regret that no one cared when we went down. Thank you for all the goals and all of the good times. Your legacy will always be the goals you scored against blues. And given that we got beat 3 seasons in a row by them I applaud your contribution and wish you nothing but the best in the future

Never truly lived up to his potential as a player too much partying I think lol! But he’s been a fantastic servant for Aston Villa, always liked him as a player his goal against Blackburn was unreal & his pace in his younger days was absolutely frightening. Manchester United fan.

I've always wondered why more fuss wasn't made of it at the time...being at the game I think the crowd were in shock we had a penalty so early on, and didn't even give a card a second thought, but it was a blatant professional foul, last man in a goal scoring position... letter of the law is red card. Perhaps it was because it was Man U, or perhaps the ref just bottled it, but either way Vidic should've walked. Seem to remember we got screwed over in the fa cup semi Vs Chelsea that season too

Gabby had his bad times but what a player when he was fit and on song. He scored some fantastic goals for the Villa and gave us all some of the best memories of our lives as Villans. He had so much more to his game thsn a lot of people gave him credit for and yeah he will be missed. Best of luck to ya mate and all the best for the future in whatever field u work in.. Who knows, maybe one day he'll return to the dugout as coach or manager.. Now that would be something.. We love ya Gabs mate..always! #vtid
He was the striker up front for 10 years at though my time of really getting into the villa. Local lad who lived a dream of mine and many others I'm sure through him. Yes he made mistakes, especially that year we went down however, He has given me so many moments of joy over the years I find it very hard to knock him.
when i started playimg football i saw was this man his ...and his goal against arsenal chasing the long ball and scoring a belter his pace he could have been much much better so much better with his pace ...alll the best to u gabbby i loved ur pace wish u accepted the transfers from arsenal and play in ucl ur pace was frightening
