If you get out of a bath and lose the 8lbs, that doesn't mean that if you get back in you'll lose another 8 and you can just keep repeating dummy. So if khamzat shows up 16+lbs heavy on fight week and trying to cut theres no chance. Khamzat was fucked before he even showed up.

Happend to khabib when his kidneys started shutting down, if you believe everything being reported about khamzats failed weight cut thjs was the case. Hes a BIG welterweight, actually hes a good size middleweight cutting down to welterweight. They admittedly said they fucked up through camp and he started camp too heavy, so he presumably had a very large weight cut.

I can lose around 2 kgs if I sit in the sauna for a session. thats almost 5lbs. 8 lbs would be tough. I start to get light headed after 4 times. The most I ever lost was during a hike in 30 C heat. I ran out of water. It was about a 6 hour hike. I managed to walk down a gulley to a creek to get water, but I must have lost about 10 pounds.

I always thought that weight cuts in MMA were quite a bit too extreme. Liver failure, other organs shutting down...all so that you aren't at an automatic disadvantage in the fight. Make everybody go up a weight class, or two. The fights would be better, and greatly lessen health complications for all fighters. Win, Win. They should enact the One Championship Rule in regards to weight cuts. My two cents.

@@gpm7659 from about 4-5 days out you’ll up your water and lower your salt intake. 10kg sounds a lot of weight to cut, seems unlikely you’d be able to do that without causing serious damage to your body and possible health risks whilst doing it.

You do know a bodybuilder. He even has his pro card and is pretty knowledgable, and was even on your show talking about weight cutting for bodybuilders and UFC fighters. His name is Greg Doucette. Ring a bell?? UFC fighters should use him for there weight cut.

    Wow that's very true.
The body fights back to get the results it thinks it needs.
Like I got some appetite supresant pills. You can't tell me i didn't work out enough or eat little enough.
Yet I've maintained my weight for months, the same as I did when I ate normal and worked out.
I just find that ridiculous but I also know that I've been pushing myself to the max and that I literally need these calories to sustain activity.
So somethings up with my metabolism haha. I think it's time to give it up.
However, It has its uses, like being lighter on your feet from eating less. That's one thing I've benefited from it.

Look at the national hunt jockeys here in Ireland, Davy Russell would be a good example.. He'd be able to waste 9 pounds in a few hours to make weight to ride a horse in a race.. The only difference between jockeys and boxers/mma athletes is jockeys have to weigh in after a race so they have to go out there incredibly dehydrated and ride in a 2/3 mile race over hurdles/fences and still be expected to remember orders on how to ride the race... They're not human 👌
