I am soon 67 years old…making my brother 71 years old. I used to sneak into his room when he was gone and listen to “Oh well” so many times. I fell in love with him…I was about 14 years old and he was already out of Fleetwood Mac and probably in a psych hospital. I would not know this for years later. I tried to cover my tracks…listening to my brother’s records 😊
What a band and Peter had the best tone and soul/feel I've ever heard. When it comes to pure emotion, through the guitar I think he's almost certainly the best imho
How is he supposed to find something, when he's dead? We use our brains and legs to find things. He's dead, now, so his brain and legs clearly don't work anymore. Accept it and cherish his legacy.
I am 65 and just discovered Peter Green. I am so blown away. I listened to this on a LP for years, In the middle of Utah, up on a mountain top. Just never knew Peter Green.
Hey fellow oldies- 66 here and been listening to Greenie for 51 years and counting…. My all time favorite blues guitarist. If anyone’s keen, check out guitar man Dave Simpson and his ‘how to play like Peter Green’ series - which you Definitely don’t need to be a guitar player to get with.
Never too late😅For me Fleetwood Mac always sucked because I only knew only their 70ies stuff like Rumours😢. Althoug I loved Santana's cover of Black magic woman🎉Recently I discovered I pure gem Blues jam in Chicago with Otis Spann🎉🎉Go ahead and you will see. Great talents. Take care and keep on rocking❤
@@Barnekkid He played slide on many of their songs, which added a lot. He may not have been quite the guitarist Peter was, but he was damn good, and he was a multi-instrumentalist.
Peter Green was awesome that verrrry few realize his music & contribution to the early blues rock days!!! Wish he walked away for a bit with the rest of the band! RIP!!!
Not that I don't like the later incarnations of the Mac, but they absolutely slayed with Green. He's my favorite blues guitarist and possibly my favorite guitarist of all time. Danny Kirwan is no slouch, either.
Absolutely Adored Greeny ❤️Beautiful my Gd‼️Especially Humble.. Talented.. Unique.. I could go on and on about this incredible man ❤Greeny❤ No one could play the guitar like Greeny ever not understand his vision! This us one of the greatest artists ever❤️❤️
Sad to hear of the passing of Danny Kirwan. He was a perfect fit with Peter Green and an essential part of their sound after Jeremy Spencer left. Saw the original Mac at least four times and Danny was superb. You will be missed.
@@bealetm I believe Peter Green returned to Fleetwood Mac for a short time after Jeremy Spencer joined a cult in California. I took my buddy to band practice and Peter, Mick, John and Danny were downstairs waiting to jam. They were trying to sell a reissue Flying V that belonged to Jeremy and I saw him play it in Fleetwood Mac with Peter and Danny.
Wonderful Footage, and so great to see Peter looking happy, and in his element, and the band playing so well.A tormented soul finally at rest. The Chain has been broken, R.I.P Peter

Les irrésistibles were a band of american expats in Paris. Song written by a talented French composer William Sheller. This song is part of the soundtrack of James Bond, last one or next to last❤
On 31 Dec 1968 FM were half way through their second US tour (early Dec '68 - mid-Feb '69) and appeared at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago on this date along with the Byrds and Muddy Waters. This 4-hour show (called Surprise Partie) was recorded on 27 Nov '68. Other groups who appeared in Paris were the Who, the Small Faces, Aphrodite's Child, PP Arnold, the Troggs & the Equals plus numerous French groups & artists. The show also featured separate inserts by Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd & Booker T & the MGs.
The zenith of the British Blues Invasion. (1) The best rhythm section in R&R history. (2) Best lead/rhythm guitarists in R&R history. (3) Best R&R guitarist/songwriter/singer in R&R history. Just EPIC. So grateful to have been a teenager in 1968. RIP Peter and Danny. Then Play On .....
Things were changing so fast then, so many amazing bands; Fleetwood Mac was just one of the best British blues groups then. We were very lucky to have them. Thanks for this!
RIP Peter Green. Absolute legend British Blues Player. 🙏 This was and is still how it's done. Great Musicians pumping it out solid, awesome Tone from Greeny and his vocal was cracking at this point of their game. 🔥 You don't get this now days, as much as people think you do, you just don't. The Rawness and Organic vibe of a proper Blues band.
I thought this sounded familiar: J. Geils Band did a cover. But, THIS....this is fantastic! How sad, the fates of Green and Spencer, but this is a beautiful moment in time.
I love this version. Previously I dug the version of it by J. Geils Band (1973, Live Full House album), but this here is more rock & roll. And those very real guitar licks by Peter Green are oh so good.

Peter Green looks beautiful. I wish he was eternally young. This is the lasting image of the man as I want to remember him.

Incredible footage of the great Peter Green in his prime.
he took the wrong tablets and it was downhill from there ..vey sad
Wow, what a gem! I can't get enough of Peter Green and Danny Kirwan together at the peak of their abilities.
if they would have stayed together they would have created the best music ever.
The brilliant (and tragic) Peter Green. May he find peace at last.
How is he supposed to find something, when he's dead? We use our brains and legs to find things. He's dead, now, so his brain and legs clearly don't work anymore. Accept it and cherish his legacy.
Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac passed away last night. It's July 25, 2020. Rest in peace 😥
RIP Peter... You'll Be Sorely Missed... Amen

Never too old brother.
I am 69 and first listened to Peter when I was 16 in Australia.
Where have you been living? XD! Im just kidding Im glad you did it!

Danny Kirwan just killing it on rhythm guitar!
Yep. Peter in his prime. Great voice and guitar, with a very young Danny Kirwin. Danny, unsung hero of early FM.
New Year's Eve, Paris, 1968, with the original Fleetwood Mac. What a time to be alive!
God bless Peter Green and Danny Kirwan.
Not forgetting Jeremy Spencer 😜
@@cornucopia8591 Yeah sure, he did some really fine blues vocals. Thing is, he just wasn't in the same league when it came to guitar.

This clip is so awesome. The band is kicking, and Peter has a big smile and really seems to be enjoying himself. Classic.

Green & Kirwan are the best blues duo of all time. Danny could match Peter when trading licks!!!! just a joy to listen to them play together.
Agrre with your sentiments entirely, Jeremy Spencer was ace with the bottleneck as well.
william somerville Best part of this band is that no one took over at this time. All good musicians enjoying the fun of playing with each other.

Peter Green...a rare but flawed genius..!

God rest his soul.
I was lucky enough to see him four times in concert. In two of the concerts he was really good, in the other two he was absolutely brilliant.
He was absolutely beautiful in this performance. Rest easy, Greenie, you were a gift💚💚💚😓
RIP Peter, so perfect, so innocent, so Young, so fresh still after 53 years. it's just making me to wish the time travel will ever come true
Man look at Danny Kirwan too...this film is a masterpiece!!
