Peter Green looks beautiful. I wish he was eternally young. This is the lasting image of the man as I want to remember him.
facts
I fucking love this guy
I am soon 67 years old…making my brother 71 years old. I used to sneak into his room when he was gone and listen to “Oh well” so many times. I fell in love with him…I was about 14 years old and he was already out of Fleetwood Mac and probably in a psych hospital. I would not know this for years later. I tried to cover my tracks…listening to my brother’s records 😊
Wow, what a gem! I can't get enough of Peter Green and Danny Kirwan together at the peak of their abilities.
if they would have stayed together they would have created the best music ever.
Danny Kirwan just killing it on rhythm guitar!
Incredible footage of the great Peter Green in his prime.
he took the wrong tablets and it was downhill from there ..vey sad
I am 65 and just discovered Peter Green. I am so blown away. I listened to this on a LP for years, In the middle of Utah, up on a mountain top. Just never knew Peter Green.
Never too old brother.
I am 69 and first listened to Peter when I was 16 in Australia.
Where have you been living? XD! Im just kidding Im glad you did it!
Me too...59 when I heard/saw this. Last September. And remarkably , still 59!
Hey fellow oldies- 66 here and been listening to Greenie for 51 years and counting…. My all time favorite blues guitarist. If anyone’s keen, check out guitar man Dave Simpson and his ‘how to play like Peter Green’ series - which you Definitely don’t need to be a guitar player to get with.
Never too late😅For me Fleetwood Mac always sucked because I only knew only their 70ies stuff like Rumours😢. Althoug I loved Santana's cover of Black magic woman🎉Recently I discovered I pure gem Blues jam in Chicago with Otis Spann🎉🎉Go ahead and you will see. Great talents. Take care and keep on rocking❤
The Green/Spencer/Kirwan/McVie/Fleetwood lineup was phenomenal, Sad it only lasted less than two years.
The brilliant (and tragic) Peter Green. May he find peace at last.
How is he supposed to find something, when he's dead? We use our brains and legs to find things. He's dead, now, so his brain and legs clearly don't work anymore. Accept it and cherish his legacy.
😔😢
This clip is so awesome. The band is kicking, and Peter has a big smile and really seems to be enjoying himself. Classic.
Yep. Peter in his prime. Great voice and guitar, with a very young Danny Kirwin. Danny, unsung hero of early FM.
Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac passed away last night. It's July 25, 2020. Rest in peace 😥
RIP Peter... You'll Be Sorely Missed... Amen
Not that I don't like the later incarnations of the Mac, but they absolutely slayed with Green. He's my favorite blues guitarist and possibly my favorite guitarist of all time. Danny Kirwan is no slouch, either.
Green & Kirwan are the best blues duo of all time. Danny could match Peter when trading licks!!!! just a joy to listen to them play together.
Agrre with your sentiments entirely, Jeremy Spencer was ace with the bottleneck as well.
william somerville Best part of this band is that no one took over at this time. All good musicians enjoying the fun of playing with each other.
who's that drunk guy on the bass. ;->
Ben W. Danny Kirwin rest in peace june 8, 2018.
Sad to hear of the passing of Danny Kirwan. He was a perfect fit with Peter Green and an essential part of their sound after Jeremy Spencer left. Saw the original Mac at least four times and Danny was superb. You will be missed.
Oh yeah. Great pop (not pop as we know it now) player too..RIP Danny.
I think that’s Jeremy Spencer on piano in this video. Jeremy was still with FMac on the Kiln House album with Danny after Peter left.
@@bealetm I believe Peter Green returned to Fleetwood Mac for a short time after Jeremy Spencer joined a cult in California. I took my buddy to band practice and Peter, Mick, John and Danny were downstairs waiting to jam. They were trying to sell a reissue Flying V that belonged to Jeremy and I saw him play it in Fleetwood Mac with Peter and Danny.
God bless Peter Green and Danny Kirwan.
Not forgetting Jeremy Spencer 😜
@@cornucopia8591 Yeah sure, he did some really fine blues vocals. Thing is, he just wasn't in the same league when it came to guitar.
@@Barnekkid he was playing piano here
Mick Fleetwood's drumming is driving the bus on this one.
RIP Peter Green. Thank you for all the diamonds.
One of my favorite blues guitarist......
Wonderful Footage, and so great to see Peter looking happy, and in his element, and the band playing so well.A tormented soul finally at rest. The Chain has been broken, R.I.P Peter
Man look at Danny Kirwan too...this film is a masterpiece!!
Peter Green was awesome that verrrry few realize his music & contribution to the early blues rock days!!! Wish he walked away for a bit with the rest of the band! RIP!!!
This is an awesome gem of a clip - what a great raw guitar sound and great dancing in the audience. Best played very loud!!
The best blues guitarist that ever lived and his voice is just incredible!
What an absolute gem this is, with Peter at the height of his powers. I could listen to this all day. Such a awesome band.
He was absolutely beautiful in this performance. Rest easy, Greenie, you were a gift💚💚💚😓
R.I.P Pete
Peter Green dead at 73 - Fleetwood Mac co-founder dies peacefully in his sleep and I am very sad!
Fabulous track. Much better live. Danny and Peter were awesome together.
On 31 Dec 1968 FM were half way through their second US tour (early Dec '68 - mid-Feb '69) and appeared at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago on this date along with the Byrds and Muddy Waters. This 4-hour show (called Surprise Partie) was recorded on 27 Nov '68. Other groups who appeared in Paris were the Who, the Small Faces, Aphrodite's Child, PP Arnold, the Troggs & the Equals plus numerous French groups & artists. The show also featured separate inserts by Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd & Booker T & the MGs.
Peter's vibrato sends shivers down my spine.
He was ULTRA talented.
One of the best clip on youtube
Totally agree!
i agree too
@Charalampos Tse Pretty sure This one is Live, there is another clip I have seen on youtube with this footage but another audio of this song ruclips.net/video/f7nTv5SbYSk/видео.html
yes
Peter Green is my favorite white blues guitarists of all time.
You're racist.
It's always amusing to see the director deciding to zoom in on the rhythm section or the crowd when Greeny's playing some tasty lead.
yes,i noticed that,makes me nervous
He gets his licks in.
PETER GREEN JUST FANTASTIC
Peter Green...a rare but flawed genius..!
Saturday 25th July 2020
God rest his soul.
This is a clip from a New Year's rock show from French TV. The Troggs were also on the show along with my band at the time, Les Irresistibles.
Les irrésistibles were a band of american expats in Paris. Song written by a talented French composer William Sheller. This song is part of the soundtrack of James Bond, last one or next to last❤
Peter Green magnifique!
R.I.P Danny Kirwan. A great forgotten guitarist.
RIP Peter Green. We love you.
I was lucky enough to see him four times in concert. In two of the concerts he was really good, in the other two he was absolutely brilliant.
RIP Peter, so perfect, so innocent, so Young, so fresh still after 53 years. it's just making me to wish the time travel will ever come true
Amazing footage. By the time Rumours came around, this version of FM was a rumour.
I think we'd have to classify this as a Great Performance. Rock on Peter.
Things were changing so fast then, so many amazing bands; Fleetwood Mac was just one of the best British blues groups then. We were very lucky to have them. Thanks for this!
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! BEST EVER!!!
I thought this sounded familiar: J. Geils Band did a cover. But, THIS....this is fantastic! How sad, the fates of Green and Spencer, but this is a beautiful moment in time.
Wooowww!!! Two great hero´s of mine, Peter Green and Danny Kirwan in a great quality video! Down with homework...
Rest in Peace Peter Green
Hey thanks for putting the camera on peter green when he was soloing. Really glad you went that extra mile 👏
Spot on ,ruins the clip for me .
I'm addicted to this video
it's a little time machine thats for sure.
RIP,, sublime guitarist,,
Wow, Peter's solo is wonderful here.
damn, look at Danny! no more than a kid (coming from me a 23 year old) and he was keeping up with Peter like it was nothing. If those damn german cultists hadn't got hold of Pete and Danny they would have gone far. Peter was already leagues above Clapton and given time I think Danny could have surpassed him. It's sad that no one knows where Danny is these days but it's nice to see Peter is getting back in the game.hope I get to see him live at least once before he hangs up his guitar for good
What German cultists?
@@philippkittmann4752 ruclips.net/video/D-pIIKUra2A/видео.html the story should be in here
RIP Peter Green. Absolute legend British Blues Player. 🙏
This was and is still how it's done. Great Musicians pumping it out solid, awesome Tone from Greeny and his vocal was cracking at this point of their game. 🔥
You don't get this now days, as much as people think you do, you just don't. The Rawness and Organic vibe of a proper Blues band.
Love you Peter! As an aside, we know they are French because the girls are gorgeous and the boys are ...
I keep coming back to this. So real! So good !
I have always loved this song! It Always made me dance. Great picking! Yeah, had to dance! 😅
qui peter green era sicuramente al livello dei ben più' famosi clapton page poi gli si e' spenta la luce.......... ma rimane sempre tra i più' grandi chitarristi rock blues di sempre
Simply mind-blowing...
Fantastic video, with the great (and mysterious) Peter Green!
Greatest tragedy of the 20th century:
a. the fate of Peter Green & the Fleetwood Mac.
b. these French dancers.
c. the metric system
@@therugburnz It's ok, you'll learn to understand it some day ;)
@@Fiendocaster System International is ok except the DecaBet that made all but 10 letters silent., in frenchy talk anyhoo.
BTW How Many Bells in a Marshall? more than a deci i bet. more like dekaBells.
Peace
Look at the date and year.
You can tel they are French - the girls are gorgeous and the blokes are ugly.
Peter at his best and probably happiest time of his life. Love that voice he had. The guitar work speaks for itself.
Mick is a monster on those skins!
'Homework' appears on FM's Blues Jam in Chicago Volume Two.
Maravilhoso.Peter Green in memorian.
Peter Green at his very best!
Всгдая я слушаю эту мелодию и понимаю что раньше мы ходили строем а люди просто жили радовались
The zenith of the British Blues Invasion. (1) The best rhythm section in R&R history. (2) Best lead/rhythm guitarists in R&R history. (3) Best R&R guitarist/songwriter/singer in R&R history. Just EPIC. So grateful to have been a teenager in 1968. RIP Peter and Danny. Then Play On .....
+bluegreen988 I think it's important that people are able to express their opinion on music and art in general. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I will give you this Blue, there are a few people like you out there that do find this kind of music boring or to really pinpoint your remark find the original Fleetwood Mac boring. I'm not one of those people. I actually place Peter Green and the original Fleetwood Mac on my list of great groups from the 60s / 70s. Peter Green is a guitar player that can grab me with one note placed in the right place. He isn't a shredder by any means and often asked of younger people they wouldn't even know that there was an original Fleetwood Mac. Just the band with the chicks. I couldn't really get on board with the Mac line up. To try and change your mind just for at least one song why don't you give this one a listen and see if this makes you tap your foot just a little bit. Thank you for posting your opinion on the Early Years video ruclips.net/video/u8lme8he8WU/видео.html
Me encanta esta pieza músical, y por supuesto su video. Reflejo de una epoca.
Wow one of their best .
Absolutely Adored Greeny ❤️Beautiful my Gd‼️Especially Humble.. Talented.. Unique.. I could go on and on about this incredible man ❤Greeny❤ No one could play the guitar like Greeny ever not understand his vision! This us one of the greatest artists ever❤️❤️
So sad to hear about Peter greens death. What a wonderful guitarist and very handsome when he was young.🎸🎸♥️♥️
I love this clip.
LOVE this....If I had a time machine....I'd be dancing out there!!!!!!!!
@avlisk I don't see Christine anywhere in this video. The guy at the piano is Jeremy Spencer.
Greeny showing once again what a superb blues musician he was... great vocalist too!
Green not only plays great, but looks invincible in this clip
Steve Gillers and has great voice
Absolutely💚
Invincible...that's it. Invincible.
wow, what an historical document.
i think that is Green's signature 1959 les paul. That guitar was less than 10 years old at that time.
Green later sold it to Gary Moore.
wow.
@Jovolution I think Dave Grohl owns it now...Could be mistaken though.
@G Lake right, but now, RIP PeterGreen.
@@ThePersian61 Kirk Hammett famously bought it for something like $1.2m
They were so damn good. Bloody hell.
i love peters voice as much as his playing sometimes
Peter Green to mój bluesowy Idol od najmłodszych lat...!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Look at all those beautiful, vintage Fender amps! And I guess we know where
J. Geils Band got their arrangement, huh? Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac is always
under the radar due to the huge, superstar Mac but this is a killer blues band.
Peter had the touch and feel of The Blues. BB King called his playing "exquisitely
melancholy," an apt description. A shame that he no longer plays with that edge
and power, but he's been through a lot of shit in his life. I actually dig ALL versions
of Mac, but the original band is the most captivating to the ear and the heart, imho.
Never knew they'd done this one. Love it! Great live footage - Kirwan hadn't been in the band for too long at this point, had he? Still looks like he's about 14 years old here! Amazing how much older he looked only a year later. I've got this saved in my favorites, along with many other of the old Kirwan/Green-era Mac.
I love this version. Previously I dug the version of it by J. Geils Band (1973, Live Full House album), but this here is more rock & roll. And those very real guitar licks by Peter Green are oh so good.
This absolutely rocks 😭
R. I. P. Peter......rock on in "the great gig in the sky"......
Nothing can beat this.
this is absolutely wonderful!!
Soulful voice and awesome guitar playing. Look out clapton, page , beck etc
Thanks for doing your homework and making this video available!
Thank heavens for RUclips. Ever will they play and he be fair ...
jesus that was great!!! ... to see peter and the band play live sends shivers down me spine
This is probably the best incarnation of this band (please don't overlook the Bob Welch period with for a time Bob Weston). Thanks for posting this.
I loved the blues Era of fleetwood mac!!! an remember when the stones were blusey
Peter the great... full power bluesman
love them at my old age of 59...
The LP for mentioned was "History of British Blues". I may still have it. Peter green is good. A tragedy in the making but he doesn't seem to mind. What a long strange trip it's been for him.
For me , this is a mix between Funk and Blues... great! Can not stand still 😊
Did not know Jeremy Spencer played piano..First and only time I've seen him do that..Nice French fashions of the day..Oui..Oui...
They sound incredible, amazing band
Blew me away ✊
