I used an DLP machine for 2-3 yrs & it was great, when covid hit i bought an sonic mini 4k & for some months i fine tuned it so good that most times it was impossible to make which was printed on the 10000$ DLP machine & which was printed on the 400$ (approx) LCD machine.
Then i sold my DLP & have been using better quality LCD machines (approx 2000$) & not have had a issue at all
p.s. my basic use is for jewellery industry

I have an Asiga that is over 5 years old, you don't need to add so much support this way, less than 25 is enough

I promise you even if time is money and precision is the most important thing, you are still having a hell of a time convincing a manager to swap. The price is still an issue because whatever we have works with the customer base and they have budgets. For instances, a lot of employees work on outdated and terrible laptops, if you give a specific reason they will probably upgrade but even if it would save a lot of labor hours they aren't going to do it themselves because that would make sense.

i dont agree with the conclusion. i had a lot 3d printed jewlles by cheaper options and the results after are bad, u need alot of post processing the piece. with asiga the post processe is reduce by alo t, because the pices are simply clean and super clean surfaces.

21 minute of the video: This gentleman has printed large rings (probably for silver or theater so that the actors can be seen on stage) and claims that 1/4 mm accuracy is not a problem for a jeweler. How about if the band of the ring is 1.2 mm wide and there are small diamonds with a diameter of 1 mm around it. Is 1/4mm print tolerance still not a problem?

There were pave pieces on that plate as well for this purpose.

for a $10,000 machine it better be higher quality and better tech than your $400 machine

Frankly the fact that machine stops you from printing if you do not change the vat after printing 1 liter is unacceptable, I do not care to what industry it is aimed at, they could have just as easily used the RFD tracking to warn you that keep using the vat may result in degrading performance, but you should always have the the option to ignore the warning if you choose so... That's a scummy business practice, not too dissimilar from the ones that are all too common in the regular 2d paper printing industry

lol yeah they will hook you up with someone who casts with the resin, but not for free.
