I agree with stitchann to put a white 2.5 inch border around the quilt. Then add a small solid black or gray border after this followed by the border you have planned.
Really 🥰loved watching this J.R. project, especially when you gracefully opened up the jelly roll & sister chic absolutely quirky & sew fun. Ty from Melbourne FL
I just watched for the first time and love the quilt. Really feeling bad about poor Sister chick being so picked on though. I would take her if I lived close my 😢
Thank you so much for showing how to make this quilt,,,i had a jelly roll sitting here,,opened it up and started cutting,,,i think with adding a few more colors i will be able to get 2 nice size baby quilts for charity out of this....back to sewing and THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!
I have never tried anything with a jelly roll. Looks like fun. Love the pattern. Love your cute personality. Love the videos. I hope you show us the finished quilt. Is Emmet Idaho anywhere near Rigby and Rexburg? Love the little town of Rexburg. I had a friend who moved there, and I helped her move in and find her house. I had so much fun seeing a new place. I grew up in Utah, married and moved to Arizona. I have been here for over 50 years. Love the winters, summers not so much.
Tell the Engineer I was laughing so hard, I had to stop and rewind. 😂😂😂 poor sister chick, hope they stop picking on her. The quilt turned out great, the white border will be good.
I did, he had a good chuckle :) I'm going with a white border and binding in the balck cnady corn, several viewers said white and I didn't think of it before then. Thanks friend.
Thanks so very much for making these videos-I am a newer beginner quilter and watch your channel with my gramma Kathleen who is an expert quilter. She loves to look at all the new techniques and sewing methods and due to being on hospice now and bed bound she can’t sew and quilt like she would want to but she lights up when we get to watch quilting videos on RUclips ❤ Thank you again for making her our day and we can’t wait to see what your going to be doing next!!!
I love my Juki! I flew through my first jelly roll race quilt in no time flat. I have a Brother from the 80’s that I’ll pull out for zigzag stitches, but my Juki gets to live on my sewing table full time.
I am so happy to have found your channel. I love not only your quilti but also your humor keeps me 😂 laughing. If I could have one wish it would be that I would be able-bodied enough to travel to Idaho and participate in your retreat. I've always wanted to see your state. Your friend from New Mexico, Carla 🎶💐💖
Oh, I love the quilt and this pattern! Please keep us posted on the final decision for border and binding. I'm sure many are anxious to see the finished product. Thanks again, Di, for all your videos!
Normally, I "watch" my favorite quilter's videos while puttering in my sewing room. I'm really just listening because I'm, well, sewing or cutting. If I hear something that needs my attention, I'll rewind and check it out. I just can't do that with you. I would miss your cute little notes and comments that make your videos so fun! I just have to sit and watch! Thank you, I hope you and Sister Chick keep it going for a long time!
Keep it up and you’ll make me cry with your comments, Meg. Thank you so very very much and my plans are to keep it going for a really long time. Vodka for cleaning? It makes sense. What a fun creative job you have. I think I’d really like that work.😊❤️🐥
How about a white border Karla?? several of you were suggested that, and I love it! White is like the absence of a border, but will float the blocks😳❣️ I love it😃🖤🧡🐥
I’m such a sucker for Hallowe’en fabric. I got married on October 31st!! Another pattern to put on my list..my very long list. Thanks from Toronto, Canada
A plain white narrow border and then the binding... no idea about candy corn (?I hope that's right), we don't have it here in Australia... that I've seen. But that would be my choice, so the crosses could continue to float. Feel free to disagree. Thankyou Di, engineer and sister. This has been fun. Hugs, Chel 🌸
I like your quilt. I agree with the engineer and you, Di. The border print didn't fit the quilt. It will be great on another one. Great tutorial! Thanks for continuing to inspire so many of us.
Thanks for the quick cute pattern. I’m making a Project Linus quilt for a teenage girl now. It’s cute, but it’s something I’d make for a family member. It’s time consuming, but pretty. This would be a cute quilt to make for a teenager! And go faster. Thank you.
That’s right Anne. I’m making it with. Blues and a spot of orange from batiks for a wedding present. And that one will def have a border. Thanks for watching🎃🖤😊🐥
That’s a good pattern for a quick but effective jelly roll quilt. I think a 2.5” (maximum width) border in whatever background fabric would be perfect for this quilt pattern so the binding doesn’t chop into the blocks. I have to agree with you and the engineer that the orange border didn’t look right. Watching from Sunny Scotland 🏴
Several viewers have recommended White, the engineer, and I think that is the winner and I’ll keep it at a 2 1/2 inch width, thank you for watching, from sunny 🥔🇺🇸 Idaho😊🐥Alexandra❣️
Fun and easy pattern. Beautiful fabric. Can't wait to see how you quilt it. Love your pinning technique, I used it while working my apple quilt. It is the best.
i love it but you are right my fav color is orange but that will not work i think black or gray is the right way to go even if it has a hint of orange in it great job
I love your quilt! 💕 I've just finished a jelly roll quilt in this same fabric. I used a narrow border with the black twinkle print and then a wider border using the orange moons print.
It looks like it needs a white inner border to create continuity. The outer border can be pieced from the leftover blocks. White-print-white-print... squares and supplement it with white or other strips as needed. Just an idea.
Like you I also make the "quilters moonshine" by the gallon. I use a cup of vodka plus 1/2 cup of liquid starch. It sure is more cost effective than using the name brands and I think it works great. Keep up the good work on the video's, they are great fun to watch 😍
Fun video. It is great watching someone make something and make changes along the way. I’m a new subscriber and a new quilter checking in from San Diego. I usually do woodworking but the summer heat is getting to me as I get older. I needed an inside hobby. I’ve been playing with my machine and making crazy blocks and trying to get straight and 1/4” seams down. I’m ok with the straight but taking a while to get that 1/4”. For an old Navy Photographer I can only say I will overcome that challenge. Thanks for sharing.

I love this pattern. It would look great in any colors.
Thanks for the tutorial ❤
Guess what Jane!!? I'm going to add a white border, I can't wait to get it quilted!!! :)
I would love to see it finished.@@sisterchicksquilting
White border so the blocks float. Thank you for sharing your tips.
Great idea, the same idea came from other viewers, that's our plan! Thanks and thank you for watching!!!!
Use the leftover blocks to make some scrappy coordinating pillowcases. Or pillowcases shams.
Great idea, thanks for watching 🎃😊❤️🐥
Love the quilt! Thank you for showing us.
Thank you 😊 just finished a second one for a wedding gift, they loved it too. TFW😊❤️🐥
I love the pattern. Thank you so much for posting. I am a beginner quilter. I think you should put a black and white border.
It ended up being white and is in t next video 😱 TFW😊❤️

By the way, I use straight vodka in my work as a costumer. Sometimes for pressing, but mostly for cleaning stinky costumes!
This is how I feel too!
Keep it up and you’ll make me cry with your comments, Meg. Thank you so very very much and my plans are to keep it going for a really long time.

Love this pattern. Easy, too. Great video, and the comments from the Engineer crack me up.

I agree! No border. Binding could be scrappy, black, or no border. You could face this quilt. Still so many options. Great quilt and tutorial!
How about a white border Karla?? several of you were suggested that, and I love it! White is like the absence of a border, but will float the blocks😳❣️ I love it😃🖤🧡🐥

I like fun and easy 😂 I’m actually thinking about designs for it now 🤔. TFW🎃😊❤️
How about a white border, it would make the quilt larger but it would appear floating.
Several viewers suggested and that's what we're going to do! Great idea and thanks for watching!!!
I would put a 2"(?) white border, then bind it with your candy corn fabric.
Ding, ding, ding! I love your idea its the winner, Karen🧡😊🖤🐥❣️

😂 You crack me up! I DO love this pattern.

I would have done a black or dark gray 1” border before the orange floral, I think it would look great.
I actually bordered it in the white background and it’s walked in spider webs😊❤️🐥. TFW
Love the pinwheel effect. Turned out very nice. You made it look so easy!
Thanks so much 😊😊❤️🐥
It looks like it needs a white inner border to create continuity. The outer border can be pieced from the leftover blocks. White-print-white-print... squares and supplement it with white or other strips as needed. Just an idea.
I actually ended up adding a white border and showing it in y video I release today.
