Thank you so much for this easy to follow video. I am a 53 yr old mom and never considered doing my own home improvements before. After buying the right tools, and watching your great video, I now have a beautifully installed shower door!
You go, girlfriend! You are never to old to learn! What will your next project be?
I have managed to put in shower doors in one of my bathrooms after watching your video. I have practically no experience being a handy man and yet was able to complete this project. Thanks a million. Your video was the best among the other ones that I have watched on RUclips. =)
One of the better shower door videos on youtube.
Shannon's videos are among my favorites. I just wanted to reemphasize the need for eye protection when cutting metals, including aluminum with the electric miter saw. If you don't have a full coverage eye protection take time to acquire them.
true enough, a hand saw is pretty low risk though
Your instruction is OUTSTANDING. I am doing this exact job at my place... THANKS! Talk about demystifying the job... AWESOME! Keep up the good work.
thank you... MY wife just gave me my new job for the weekend...
This was the best video for installing sliding shower doors! Easy to follow! I’m just starting on my home improvements and have subscribed as I know I will be referring to this channel for many more projects…painting bathroom cabinets is next on the list!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Love the way you explain things and make it make sense. Was a bit intimidated by the project but confident I can handle it now. Thanks!
9 years ago I saved this to my playlist to watch later.
Installed my door with your help.
This morning RUclips says hey we recommend this from your watch later.
thank you for the video. I am two seconds from installing the doors myself.
Shannon this is a great video and very well explained with no rush at all. You know what, you could also get a job at some broadcasting station, English is not my native language and I understood every word you said. There are two bathrooms at my home, one without doors, but thanks to this video it will soon have them. Thumbs up.
Thanks , good luck with your door installs!
Excellent video and explanations!! Most of these "how-to" videos are poorly done with people who don't know (focus?) what they are saying in a coherent format. Shannon is very adept at keeping the steps simple and straightforward.
Getting ready to install my own shower doors. Thanks for the excellent instruction!
This answers all of my questions! You covered all of the bases in nice detail! Especially, like the demonstration of how to use the miter or hack saw for metal cutting. Thank you for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
I WAS AFRAID TO DO THE JOB BUT WHEN I WATCHED YOUR VIDEO IT LOOKS VERY EASY .
NICE VIDEO
10 years later and I'm installing the same type, thanks for the video sir
Great content! I appreciate the tips like taping off the drain when installing the bottom track pieces.
Outstanding video!!!! Thank you. I cannot afford to have someone come out to repair my shower that continued to produce mold around the tracks nor could I afford (which I preferred) to update and replace the entire shower. I decided to google how to install standard shower doors and immediately saw your 30 minute video. I decided to take a look. You were very clear with your instructions and answered questions that I had about what type of silicone you were using. What initially appeared to be an intimidating problem, turns out to appear to be simple. As of right now I have removed all my side and bottom frames and I’m thoroughly cleaning the shower. I will be heading to my local home store and I’ll look for replacement rollers and I’m going to get started putting my shower back together. Thank you!!!
How did it turn out?
I just put that same shower unit in for a customer, and will probably be putting in some doors like these in for them in the future.......Thanks for the great video....
Thank for taking the time to help with our DIY projects. I also, don't know what I do without RUclips.
thanks shannon.....great video.
im replacing my shower door tomorrow.
looks pretty easy
you're the best shannon... you should be on the DIY network
i mean that
Thanks man. Nice and straightforward. I couldn't make heads or tails from my written instructions. Your video took the mystery out of this job.
Thanks for all your diy vids.. landed a good job in home renovations with little knowledge... just good work ethic. your vids are helping greatly.
Shannon - looked at your video - it gave me the confidence to install my shower door enclosure! Nice job!
Great question. I prefer to put wood back there. you can use drywall anchors to hold those shower door side rails but wood backing is more secure.
Thank you for your video. It's very helpful.
Wish you lived in my town. I think I'm ready to install a new door. Thanks! I love watching your videos!
I think you touched all the bases. Great informing video from start to finish.
I feel confident I can install my own doors now. Can't wait to get started.
Thanks for all you videos. It's great prep work for going into a job that's a first for the person doing it! Good luck!

I don't know how I lived before youtube.

Very well done. Thank you for a great instructional video. You answered all of my questions and concerns. Keep up the good work!
Same as we did for Montgomery Wards back in the 70's.

Excellent video!!! So helpful to me. Made me look like a superstar to my new father in law! Lol
Informative video and I enjoyed the delivery style.
that was a really good informative video. I'm going to be doing my condo in a week and hopefully it goes well!
Thanks very much for taking the time to make this video
Extremely helpful, thank you for posting this.
Great video! Thanks for showing how easy it can be.
Thanks for the video. It is very detailed. Keep doing good job.
Great job.... thank you a lot for this video. I will install the doors on my shower too.
Thank you so much for the video
You silicone the inside edges that contact the base and walls after install. If you dont silicone the inside edge of the base you will get moldy slime accumulation under it.
Shannon, you're just cool! Thanks for these DIY videos.
Great Job Shannon!
Very good
Hi Shannon, Thanks so much for this cool tutourial, we just bought a house that has three baths with showers and no doors on any of them. I was gonna pay to have someone do it for me but after watching this I feel confident I can do it myself, again Thank you so much, you're a good teacher!
Well done!
Thank you!
Thanks, I like what I saw, very helpful, finally I can get it done, thanks!!!
Watching this to see how to install the plastic guide clips, but wasn't shown. However, I appreciate the other detail.
Well done. Thanks for keeping it simple.
Great tutorial!
I have wondered if you could install heavy glass doors on acrylic shower pan. But looks like thats what you are doing in this video.
Great Instructions! Thanks.
When I win the lotto I will hire Mr.Shannon to build me a house.
resolution55555 He would be the one to hire!
thank you so much good job, videos r super helpfull thks again…
Very helpful 😊
This was very helpful! Thank you!
Yes ,no screws at all in top rail.
Is the header piece just resting on the sides and not secured? I guess the downward pressure will stop it from moving.
Great job Shannon! Very clear and precise. You should have your own RUclips channel.
yes most designs just have them sitting there.
If you silicone around the head rail, that will hold it on very well. Some manufacturers use a set screw on the top rail.
TOP TIP cover the drain because if it is quality stainless steel screws they are not magnetic and will be a royal pain in the butt to retrieve.
Excellent!
@House-Improvements:
I was wondering if you have any suggestions for repairing that "black" thing at the bottom of the shower sliding doors...it holds the two glass doors in place when you open and close them.
Unfortunately, my Grandmother lost her balance and fell into the nearby glass shower doors (she's super blessed because she did not suffer any injuries)...however, it did knock the little black block thing at the base of the shower (which sits on the metal slide) a loose.
Now, the bottom of the glass doors on the shower doesn't have anything to "keep" them in place when opening & closing them.
The top of the glass shower doors (the header, I believe it's call) is fine. It's just the "bottom" of the shower doors that swings out due to not having the "black rectangle" thing to keep them on the metal track (groove) when opening and closing the door.
Any suggestions on how to repair this problem would be most welcome.
THANK YOU!
*P.S. We really learned a lot from your tutorial...and appreciate you sharing your skills & knowledge with us!!!
hi Shannon! I really like your videos! They've helped me tackle a few projects! Can you do a video on instslling a pocket door? we want to put a couple downstairs in our basement & I'm not sure where/how to start. thanks! keep the videos coming! they zre a great help!
Beautiful install my man nice
Well done. Thank you sir
I have a Maxx glass sliding shower door...The inside came off of the track when I was scrubbing the soap off of the door...I got the rubber wheels connected up top but the inside door swings inside towards the shower now...What do I have to do to make it normal...I need help quick...The video was very informal and good...
Heith Gagnon take the lower guide off the door and then re-install after you hook it into the track.
Thanks and VERY helpful. Clarified my many questions! Good job!
+Mark Slade Glad to help
Your videos are superb. Thank you sir!
perfect!!
Awesome as always Shannon 👍👍 one question re: the saw. Reason for using the mitre box and hack saw for bottom rail as opposed to using the chop saw for both top and bottom cuts ? Thank You
very helpful! Thank you so much!
thanks for sharing.
Thanks, excellent video
great video...thanks a lot!!
Kellsilva.. your explanation was very helpfull thank you.
Shannon thank you for the great video. I'm about to do my shower door with the same exact setup. Only exception is the bottom is out of level by 1/2" Any suggestions?
wow, that is a lot. The door does have some adjustment...hopefully enough for that. I would set it up making the header track level, if there is not enough adjustment you may have to cut one side to put it out of level unfortunately
Hi Shannon. im framing a shower and planning to insall a 24×68 door but i wonder how mucb wide my opening should be mesuring wide between the 2×4 ? I don have the door yet would have been easier .
I have a saw designed to cut MDF with that plastic coating used for shelving -- 60 teeth, carbide tipped. Is that reasonable to use that blade for for aluminum?
I liked your video. I will go to do this job and your video was very good.
The only explanation that seems like was missed is how the top aluminum bar was held in place. Is this bar held only with silicone?
boy, what a nice explanation!!!!!- QUESTION: my shower wall extends to the actual wall, means i have to screw in the side rail into the shower hard plastic,,Is this a typical procedure?,
Great job!
