    Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. These results include effects on the markets, such as price declines and sharp increases in inflation, as well as bank failures. I wonder if the sudden increase in interest rates will help value investors or if it would be wiser to stay away from the stock and financial markets for the time being.

    On the surging support amongst ethnic minorities thing. I wish people would put shifting 'Hispanic' support into the broader history of migration to the US. Historically, ethnic minority groups (germans, italians, irish...etc) came to the US in particular waves. In the century after the wave, you can observe each group becoming less of a distinct sociological unit in American society, as individuals assimilate into the broader populace, basically becoming just 'white people'.
    You can see a similar thing happening with Hispanic people. The big uptick in migration from Latin American countries, especially Mexico, occurred in the 80s and 90s. That means it's about ~35 years old. People with Hispanic heritage going three+ generations ago is increasingly common, and that group often doesn't speak Spanish or practice Catholicism and has mixed origins. It is to be expected that group, or at least segments of it, will gradually become politically more like broader American 'white' culture, just as the Germans, Italians and Irish did before them.

    • @jayrogan1835
      @jayrogan1835 Месяц назад +25

      Its simply broader American culture not “white” American culture. American culture hasn’t been “white” since the late 1800s early 1900s

    • @marshalljarnagin9370
      @marshalljarnagin9370 Месяц назад

      Agreed. My family has more than just white people in it. We are our own culture. White, Black, Asian, Indian, etc.
      Also, illegal immigrants massively affect the communities along the border, where counties are majority Hispanic. They're tired of seeing their neighborhoods wrecked.

    • @agonzalez7095
      @agonzalez7095 Месяц назад +18

      you are kind of misunderstanding the demographics among hispanic peoples there, the 80's 90's immigration came predominantly from southern Mexico e.g. the Yucatan and other parts of Central and Southern America, these migrants are very urban and consistently more progressive or even left wing, this is the part of Mexico that the neo Zapatistas gained popularity in, they also go against your "whiter" thing by just being less white. A lot of the Republican hispanic support comes from those who came before the 80's, particularly from the 50's - 70's e.g. Cubans and Nortenos from Northern Mexico e.g. Sonora and Rio Grande who are not as urban as later Mexican immigrants, more socially and economically conservative, they are also culturally and ethnically whiter and more settled and therefore better fit your argument about Hispanic integration resulting in less of a Democrat monopoly.

    • @merrymachiavelli2041
      @merrymachiavelli2041 Месяц назад +9

      @@jayrogan1835 My point wasn't that broader American culture is white, it's a fair number of _people_ (not all) who are 'theoretically' Hispanic will come to identify as Hispanic and white, or just as white, with Hispanic-ness being an afterthought in the same way Irishness generally is. This is something that has already been observed - I can't link to it because RUclips can get weird about links, but if you google 'Pew Research Hispanic Identity 2017', the contrast between first and third generation individuals is striking. And that's now quite old.

    How is an online asylum application anything remotely similiar to the remain in Mexico policy if it doesnt bar entry before asylum approval?.... The entire point of the remain in Mexico policy was bc the vast majority of people who apply for asylum do not qualify for asylum, but when you allow ALL immigrants caught along the border trying to illegally cross into the country, bring them in, give them an asylum hearing date, and release them into the interior, as is Biden's stuborn policy, turns out the vast majority of them never show up again for their asylum hearings (surprise surprise) and ultimately end up disappearing into the interior to never be seen again, and everywhere they go recieves more delegates according to the increase in population, which fundamentally underminds the seperation of powers and the constitutional pact between local municipalities, states, and the federal government by giving certain areas undue and unconstitutional increase in the number of representatives they get to send to the state or federal legislatures.

A lot of Michiganders of all races feel this way. It's boomer entitlement. Their parents' generation would have recognized that there's something not right about political leaders being so badly misaligned with the general public: when they were in charge, the top income tax rate was 90% and the economy was booming for everyone. Boomers have no such compunctions, which is also the reason they allow billionaires to set policy in the US. It's also true, however, that they would likely have been dead before they got as old as Biden and Trump.

      2. Biden's doing okay, honestly. He just looks old, speaks slowly, and has had a stutter all his life. The man cycles, he runs, while Trump rides gold carts to go from building to building. For every mistakes Biden makes during his speeches, there's an equivalent for Trump + an incredibly stupid comment (bleach, airports during the US civil war, etc...).

      The titles reflect the object reality of the polls. For the past 6 months, Trump has been crushing Biden in the polls, which predicts a landslide win in November. At this point, it's incredibly unlikely that Biden will win, but it is possible, that is why the title said he "could" win. If the polls remain the same, Trump "will" win big, that's why the the title says exactly that. There is no bias at all in the titles, just a reflection of reality.

Considering he won some states with a super tiny margin in 2020, it's not looking good.
