Reading Curtis Roads brought me here, highly recommend his book Composing Electronic Music: A New Aesthetic.
Did somebody just describe what i heard in that one nightmare i had
and that was Shepard tone made.

Amazing how nearly every sound in electronic music we hear today can be traced to techniques discovered by these experimental pioneers, it just didn't occur to them to orchestrate those sounds the way we do now
