My graduate work No.1 - Animations in the spectrogram
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 июн 2011
- These are five animations from my graduate work that are made with a method that I developed.
Pictures and sounds layered on one another. (The pictures are in the sounds - it looks like Aphex Twin's hidden face: • [Equation] - Aphex Twi... - but I animated this sounds.)
To be continued.:) Кино
I can't even animate a cat normally and this guy does it in a spectrogram
probably took a video
Dumbass
The audio for the horse sounds like someone saying "bring on the raid"
Fallout?
I think Go Read Right Now But No it said
I think i just heard “brung on the raid”
Only 23 percent can hear it
o
This is the hardest I laughed all day, thank you!
I think the spectrogram horse and the plinko horse are siblings. At least they are in my heart...
0:32 ⚠YOU HAVE ALERTED THE HORSE⚠
the horse animation sounds like something straight outta a 90s horror game
the horse of the apocalypse
Yes I made the pictures with a program, but I made experiments without softwares.
I made the periods in sound and I put this sounds to a spectrogram. So the periods of a horse/cat etc. motion aggregate an animation (the animations made by Adobe Premiere pro).
I love these attempts and practice the 'spectrogram animations'.
*Sorry for my 'silly' english.:)
It's not silly, it's actually quite understandable.

The cat sounds like its meowing a sort of "mwow".
This is.. kinda creepy. Especially how the dog animation sounded like it had screaming in it maybe?
Very cool, what was the sample frequency you had to use for the horse, dog, and cat?
This is sosad
I ripped the audio of this and tried it in audacity the images don't look exactly the same, but they sure are there, great work, theoretically you could place pictures of letters instead of animation in a spectrogram using your technique, and have private messages hided in a sound file, I am going to have a look at those number station video's again in a spectrogram, see if I see anything.
any progress?
You have to tinker with the Spectogram settings in Audacity to see the full picture. I changed the max pitch from 15000 to 30000 and now it’s easier to see
all spectrograms would have different colors and representations of the sound. you might need to alter that to see it clearly.
You can put pics in a spectrograph, 11B X 1736 is a perfect example of this,it puts a painting in its spectrograph.
i was able to recreate the images in audacity! it looks like each noise block contains essentially all the frames contained within the gif, overlayed and interfering with each other in an additive manner, i believe.
me too
Same (use log spectrum). I'm not seeing how it comes out so clear in the video. Either a different signal was used, or it never looked that clear.
absolutely stellar research you have going there, godspeed.
excellent work sir hope you expand on it.
Cool. I like the way the horse sounds kind of equine, the dog kind of canine, and the cat kind of feline.
Or maybe I'm just projecting my expectations, pretty sweet anyhow.
Love this!
the automatic subtitles are hilarious
This is incredible holy shit
The "Dogs" one is kind of a bop tho
this is sick man
Amazing!
these beats kinda fire :o
These all sound like alarms in a space pirate facility in Metroid
This video just randomly shows up in my recommendation.
Hi , great work! Can I ask what software you used for this/wha your methods were?
This is genius
my right ear enjoyed this
Trying this with a slow scan tv app, I'll tell you what it shows
You could probably sample some of these and turn them into something crazy
the dog sounds like its barking almost
Let me guess how you did the horse animation:
each frame of the animation comes from a different audio file and to create the actual animation you used time displacement in AE.
Probably I'm wrong ... very impressive by the way !
what . . .
@@natashajackman8716 Hunga Bunga. Got it now?
@@areamusicale still no
@@areamusicale Thanks that’s so much clearer now!

What did you use to make this?
bro a graduate in curiosities and whatchmacallits
0:22 whats oh boy whats whats whats
my brain just went oppa gagnam style when i heard the puma cat wtf
Did you use Sonic visualiser for this? it looks like the UI. could you explain how you got it from picture to video. Maybe some sort of playback setting? Really Really cool. I did some work on my MA to do with image sounds and convertingbetween image and sound. Glad to see people are actually still doing this stuff!!
No
What are you using.
Very cool
How do you this? It’s amazing wow Which plug in or software you use to make it?
He crate a sound (probably with coagula) where the spectrum of the sound is an animal, to see the spectrum I think he is using RX by izotope, but if you want a free spectrum analyser you can download audacity. For make the animation he just make a screenshot of the spectral wave and superimposed them.
0:33 Dude, he’s the stallion.
so sick
Time to make some regi-sounds with either braille or hieroglyphs
Aha, behest of synchronicity.
The dog sound like oh wow wow
Hey, what do you use to create the images?
A spectrogram lmao
Saitan has been summoned.
I always wondered what horse tast- uh I mean!... sounded like, haha 😅

0:42 WHY MY BIBI AT SPECTOGRAM
Also known as sci-fi alarm sounds
i want a tutorial for realize this please, I need it
There's VST's (like Harmor) that convert images to sound/waves. Basically, you can introduce these sounds into a piece of music if you want to copyright it and when played through a spectrogram you'll see whatever visual you put in as the music plays. Could be used to label your work in case someone tries to steal/sample it.
Is this how people see sound??
sort of
Horse audio:broken robot bring on the raid
0:22 - BRUISER BRIGADE BY DANNY FUCKING BROWN
This isn’t great for headphones, my left ear’s fine but I’m not so sure about the right one.
