Hello Agate Dad, I finnaly did the 15$! And I also told my doctor to see your channel and I'm waiting on a response. Thank you so much Agate Dad for the amazing content! 😊
Dude that moss agate is pretty sweet... and there IS that amethyst one still lol. Remember you found one TO GOOD to cut so... I'd consider that a win totally man. Evil cold is coming... I'm not happy about it. What can we do lol. Stay warm up there Taylor!
I actually like most of the cuts today. I really liked the burnt orange colored ones. I didn’t really like the last one you cut, until you did the close up. Amazing!! What happened to the amethyst ones??
Hey agatedad I have some Malawi agates that I would like your thoughts on where i should cut and I found some tht have beautiful crystals and was wondering if it could be polished?
Taylor.. You've got my 5 year old obsessed with rocks. I've now gotten him a rock tumbler (which takes forever btw, my instant satisfaction brain is having issues) and we are planning a trip your direction for the spring/summer to snag a bunch of rocks that have potential.
Minnesotan transplanted to Alaska here. Been following your channel for a while and always find your videos a heartwarming piece of home. I came back to the north shore this week and couldn’t resist going on an icy cold agate hunt myself. That lake is so therapeutic! 😌 I appreciate you going through the process & showing all the “duds” we wonder about. Keep up the great work!
I know some people don’t care for moss agates but I really think they’re gorgeous especially when they have nice depth! This video was great and I loved seeing the whole process in one video ❤️
Macro shots at the end have me speculating on how those form. Personally I think they are mineralized microbes that were living in the rocks and then silicified. Wild speculation I'll admit, but just look at it!
0:52 Small but mighty! I love being surprised by small rocks; you just never know until you take that closer look. But the one at 6:17 was super cool 🤩 I think it has the best artistic lines out of the bunch.
This makes me sooo happy!!! Definitely headed there ASAP!! Even if I got chiggers last time I went wading in the Superior. (Yes definitely learned from my mistakes)
So much fun, I really enjoyed this video, especially your waving from below the desk (that cracked me up). I even recognized the beach, now that I’ve been up there. You must have been SO cold! Gorgeous finds and lovely cuts and polishes. ❤
Great stuff. What I love about rockhounding and each of us being individuals with specific likes, is that your duds could be someone else's find of a lifetime. That moss agate is ridiculous. I don't even have pierced ears but I'd gauge my ears to that size just to flaunt those as plugs. Not really, but that's how great those made me feel. Good job... and you're so real with being laid out like that. I'd do that in one of my vids but then you'd all just watch me fall asleep 😂. Look forward to the next vid.
Curious as to whether you have a geology background, and, or picked up your knowledge as a hobbieist rockbound. Have you ever been to Wagner Chrystal Mines store in Arkansas? I loved it, had a hard time getting out. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
We enjoy your videos very much ! We are senior rock hounds, so where would be a good place to find agates on Lake Superior or Lake Michigan that would be easy to access ? Thank you. Update: Nevermind
Very cool video though! Any way you can write down the brand names of these machines and where can we get them? My son and I had picked lots of river rocks and been wondering how would they look if we cut them in half or maybe do pirámids with them… would really appreciate if you give me feedback? Thx and keep up with your cool videos!!
Really interesting to watch you go from searching for them in the freezing water and then bring them home and polishing them. I appreciate it all very much. You are really fun and educational to watch. Keep up the good work , Agate dad!!
hello sir, watching your videos has really inspired me to look into lapidary, ive been collecting cool looking rocks and fossils for a while here in north east England, total novice and no idea what i'm looking for, any advice on beginner tools or how to get started would be greatly appreciated? ive found quite a lot of ammonites and devils toenails (Gryphaea) which ive seen you cut and polish up recently and id love to attempt a few myself, ive also found a couple of pyrite spheres, some call them cannon balls, which look amazing polished up, I just wouldn't know where to begin?.
Going back through your old stuff, and I gotta emphasize the kinship I felt at the 12:45 mark. My back was hurting more the longer you spent in the artisan's hunch, and then the end-of-day relaxation on a flat surface. Can relate to that more than a lot of other things XD.
Love your video!!! Thank you! What type of cutter are you using? I live in Mn and have collected rocks from the north shore I’d like to polish. But interested in doing more….. Thanks 😉
Thank you for narrating and explaining your process! I am new to your channel and so excited to learn!😁. Thank you for your videos!! Keep up the great work!
Is the respiratory mask needed when cutting stones or a personal preference? That appears to be a very high quality respiratory mask. I know you breathing in dust is bad. I'm not sure what dust would come off of the cab king with the water running. I suppose just better to protect yourself if your cutting lots of rocks.
Hahaha...dog hair "sparklers"! Thanks for showing that every hunt, cut and polish can be nice. Awesomeness...and beautiful rocks are not guaranteed. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I was really missing agate hunting today. But after watching your video, I felt like I went! You found some beauties! If you wouldn't have found any duds, then it wouldn't seem so real. So thank you for braving the cold for us, I really appreciate it! 😊
What a fantastic video! I LOVED that you showed how punishing this hobby can be on your body! I’ve gotten lost in the cutting and have been sore for days. 😂 The moss agate is spectacular and I inspires me to revisit one I’ve got on the shelf. Love your channel, well done!
My one grandson loves the cutting part because it dosen't take long to see the inside and the polishing part takes so long to get to the pretty part. I love the little guys and the older he gets I know he will love the results even if it takes time to polish them. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.
It's so much fun. The mystery of what's inside the stone. You just don't know whats going to be revealed. Thank you for great wholesome content. God bless you.😊
Really Kool fact everyone: did y'all know that the New Jerusalem will be made of precious gemstones and one of the many stones will be Agate stone... Revelations 21:19 & agates are mentioned in Isaiah 24:12💖💖💖... thanks for sharing Agate Dad really love & appreciate your videos and info❣️ I pray 🙏 everyone has a blessed day 💖💖💖...

That moss agate is out of this world !! The detail is phenomenal. ❤
Those turned out great. I always go for the ones with all the plumes. That last one is my favorite. Great video, great job!

Thanks for spreading the word and the support, I appreciate you!!
6:29 it's wild to me that i find similar material all the way down here in east Tennessee. Very cool at the same time though
Dude that moss agate is pretty sweet... and there IS that amethyst one still lol. Remember you found one TO GOOD to cut so... I'd consider that a win totally man. Evil cold is coming... I'm not happy about it. What can we do lol. Stay warm up there Taylor!
One stone you cut, the first one you said was a bunch of junk was not an agate but had cool geometric elements in it. Wish you would have polished it!
Really enjoyed the video. That moss agate was great.
Thanks!
Oh my gosh thank you!!!
Love the moss agate!
By the way, I'm new to your channel . I'm having a blast 🤗
Marvelous finds
Es preciosa con todo ese musgo y esos colores tan bonitos.

Is that a new spray bar on the saw? Not the curved blade one the stand up one.
& the New Jerusalem will also have precious metals such as gold & silver 💖💖💖✨🙌🙌💖💖💖✨...

Thanks for sharing, definitely my favorite kind of video. So much beautiful The moss agate.
Some would say that those rocks are.....Superior....mwha...mwaha..... mwahahahahaha!!!! 😅

Beautiful work! God's artistry is timeless!
So beautiful the cuts and polish. But, my favorite is one you said your not going to polish.
Wow man what amazing job I absolutely love your channel. Cheers from Toronto 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

He’s a good boy 🥄
Was wondering if you can cut somthing i found this fall if possible. ( fellow northern mich)
I grind agates on a cast iron wheel and powders, old school. Agates minerals from Rudno.
I know some people don’t care for moss agates but I really think they’re gorgeous especially when they have nice depth! This video was great and I loved seeing the whole process in one video ❤️
Definitely my favorite kind of video! Rock hounding vicariously and keeping my fingers warm through the winter!
Avsolutely fascinating
That geode was beautiful ❤
The moss agate is amazing, but I also like many of the others you cut. I think it’s neat to see what is inside all those rocks.
They might be duds to you, but they are still pretty!
I like that paint agate the one on right looks like a Phoenix head in corner of the stone 😊 nice finds 👍
I think they're all very pretty
Newton your channel
Köszönöm hogy láthattam.
Let me guess you were on Flood Bay, great finds thanks for sharing
Nope

Showa Atlas Temres 282 are the best gloves for rockhounding in cold water! Waterproof and insulated! Can’t beat them

What a beautiful Moss Agate, you did a great job polishing it. When they have all those swirls, they remind me of the Iris of an eye... so pretty 😊
Hi Dad! What type of rock would you/ might you use the final grit wheel on?
14:41 the paint Agate with the natural fracture has the man from van goghs the scream in it. It's on the right side in your left hand.
Wow! Those macro photos are awesome! The depth in those agates is amazing. Thanks for the great video and for sharing.
Just take all the rocks 🪨 you find if they don't look take with you the next time your out rock hounding and throw them back in the lake.
The mossy agate reminds me of an old style Japanese picture.
I’m sad you did not cut the Jasper nodule. Maybe cut it next time?
can you still cut that colourful rock you didn’t think was agate would to see what it looked like on inside please
The Moss Agate is really beautiful.👍
Do you sale your rocks how would you know how much they are worth?
👍👍👍
The pink pastel is my favorite!

Enjoyed the pictures at the end a lot!

Glad it made a difference for one person!
I have been using 10gl Rubbermaid trash cans for both fresh water and drain water. I don't hqave to empty and refill as often.
My next shop will have a better setup

I do it to avoid silicosis

Your giddiness is contagious!
Absolutely love this! Your efforts are much appreciated 👏 😊
😊❤️
You should bring a thermometer to show how cold Lake Superior can be.
Not a bad idea
16:56 Feldspar? Looks like your weather has been warmer the lake has no ice. Fun bunch.
The big lake usually down at freeze over :)
Your Facebook must have been hacked it is not showing with I click on.
There’s a bunch of fake ones that aren’t me. Mine has my same logo
What do u do with the throw aways?
