Hey Taylor i just got a hi-tech flat lap and i am having a problem not sure what to do. I use the 80 grit to get my slabs flat but when i go to next grit i have to reflaten the stone with that grit. It grinds in the center like the center is high. Is it something i am doing wrong?
I LOVE your content but I can't seem to find any friends who enjoy rockhounding like I do! I'm just learning how to spot good agates but I don't want to limit myself to just one kind of mineral/stone. I already have 3 plant shelves surrounded with a collection of what if found. Many are fossils! Some are just granite but a new piece of granite looks like it has garnets in it!!! Thank you for making your channel family friendly! God bless you for being conscious of how you affect others! And God bless your family too!
I am 72. When I was a child i would get stones from the creek and crack them opened in our back yard with my dads hammer. No safety gear at all!! LOL My grandson, age 10, has a great collection. I sent your videos to him to help him learn from you. Thank you so much! We all appreciate you.
It's not hard, when you've been studying geology for most of your life, like I have. Mineral nodules usually have agates inside. You just have to know how to pick the right places to find them.
I’m 65 and have always loved and collected rocks…never really knew how incredibly beautiful they were inside!!! I’ve been spending too much time on politics and not enough time on ur channel Taylor…every time I watch u it’s always PURE JOY!!! So thank you Taylor!!!!💜💜👏👏💜💜💜
I love it when the 2 halves have different patterns. It just shows you picked a really good spot to cut in order to get the maximum uniqueness out of it.
Wow, some real beauties. O love Malawi mossy agates. The Moroccan ones were amazing. Mozambique with the hint of amethyst…yes! The ice cave is so unique! The double Botswana agate and the one with the platelets!!! Awesome! Love your son’s picture and “gift” for you!!!❤
The one you showed @4:30 just amazing. 6:07 beat looks like a candle flame.. 7:08 looks like cream filled bonbon, 9:24 almost smokey amethyst on the large outer area. 15:19 it opened up to a beautiful heart shape. The rings atmre incredible and the blues 😮 incredible.
I started taking my kids mining when my oldest was 5 and my youngest was on my back at 1 💪⛏️❤️ I now am the proud owner of umteen THOUSAND heart shaped rocks and many septors, beautiful vugs with clear and milky quartz crystals…. My boys are 20 and 24 and we still go mining and we ALL love your videos!! Luvin your site from Maine
Do people send you their found agates or do you purchase them raw to cut and polish? These are beautiful! I love the, “God’s fingerprint” way of describing them. Couldn’t agree more!
Thank you so much for this channel! Truly breathtaking every time you open one. Even the “dull” ones bring me so much pleasure. Amazing to contemplate how long each stone has been in existence and concealing it’s beauty. Thank you again!
70yr old prospector here Thanks alot Dude now I gotta buy some of those African agates to add to my personal collection 😅 THERE'S TREASURES OUT THERE TO BE FOUND ! ROCK ON P.S. love the video
I definitely enjoy all your videos. Not only are the agates stunning, but your joy and enthusiasm is contagious 😍I’m always looking forward to new videos from you.
I love African agats. I bought some cut Geodes when in Morocco, they are so lovely. No Agats but one geode have grey sparkling, small tentacles inside and one is whitish/yellow and like sparkling glass-pieces inside, they are so beautiful. And I also bought some fossils. Nice to watch thank you.
Those last two Mozambique agates were mind blowing!! I love all your video...thanks for allowing us to share in the excitement of the reveal together!!❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing all your wonderful work! Not only is the content fascinating but your happiness and excitement is contagious! I listen while I work. Love this channel!
Amazing agates, so much variation, so many colours, the one with the bright green moss at the bottom, the platelets...the snow scene, so many were strongly 3D too. Loved seeing each and every one!
If your goal is spending joy, I believe you’ve achieved that many-fold!! Not only do I receive joy from the learning, the beauty of the rocks and the thrill of the hunt, but also from your informative and engaging content!! You are funny and never fail to make me smile. And one last thing….good taste in music and excellent editing skills!! 🔥 ❤️
I’m definitely becoming more and more of an agate fan, I love the uniqueness of each one. I’m sure that you will do a follow up to show them at their full potential. You have an up and coming artist in the family too cute little drawings.👨🏻🎨❤
Man so many beautiful agates! I think my favorite would be the one at 15:30, but very hard to choose, I think I liked the green in with it, thanks for sharing with us!
So difficult to have a favourite when there were so many beautiful agates but I think the one with 'snowflakes' may be the one. Thank you so much for sharing your videos they do bring me joy. 😃😃😃
Wow they are all so beautiful, even the so-called duds! I think The ones from Morocco were my faves, the ones with the golden yellow are mind blowing 🤯
Enjoyed the video. The Botswana agate that had the great banding but also had that weird hole in it...if you'll take a quarter inch or so slab from both halves you won't waste so much material, and you also won't have to grind as much. It might be easier to get rid of that hole in that manner. What do you think?
Such beauties hard to pick a fave here (I love frogs) 😆 one of them looked like a map of America and the shadow one with the gold streak in the quartz made me think of the creation of Adam. Look forward to seeing these so much. Thank you and best wishes to you and your little family 🍎 🚙 🪨 😂
I just love watching your video. I even sit closer to my lap top to get a closer looks at the stone. They're where some real beauties. Such a joy to watch.🤗
I'm loving every single one of these the one right before 12 minutes that was playing on the outside and when you opened it oh man that is the Beautiful I love the little ones
I wish you would tell me what I'm looking at. What makes the various colors? In particular the oranges, white bands, diffuse pink and that wonderful dark blue you could just sink into.
Hi, AD! New, ignorant rockhound here! Really enjoying and binging on your channel. But l feel dumb as a stump. Took geology, have a ton of rock ID books, bowls of stones, but still can't figure out how to tell a good rock from a meh rock. Working on it. My uncle lived in Seattle,, had a saw, huge tumbler, a rock workroom, pails of stones everywhere. He and my aunt traveled everyplace. Brazil for amethysts, Australia for opals, crystals in Arkansas...once, they were hunting rubies in a low creek in Burma, looked up, and there were tribesmen watching, who did NOT want them there-despite permission. I live in an area rich in geodes and am trying to figure those out, too. Sorry to run on, but so glad l found your channel! 🌻
Thanks Taylor for the videos because they do indeed bring me joy! I think my favourites today were the Malawi agates, they were such weird looking nodules (or whatever they are called) but boy did they pack a punch on the inside! ❤
My favorite one is the 1 it. It kind of looks like a inverted butterfly with the green moss on the bottom, the greenish orange moss on the bottom. I love that one so much.
another satisfying video, thanks A.D.!.. here's an idea for that Botswana with the pocket and fractures (so nice apart from that).. cut into smaller pieces and put in a rock tumbler? Not sure if you wanna get into all that, but I love perfectly smooth Botswana nuggets, even small ones..
For that one agate that really fractured making it a rough edge on both sides, can’t you slice off that roughness to get to a new clean surface? I’m not a cutter and I’m somewhat new to agets, but it seemed like it would make sense.
Wow !! Each stone is special.... soo beautiful on the inside!! Loved watching the process. BTW, do you mark each stone that you are going to cut, say with a line... from where you start cutting it, so that the two halves of the stone can later be matched exactly ? Thanks for sharing.
I love watching your videos and appreciate your enthusiasm! I just received a lapidary saw as a gift. Where can I buy uncut agates or geodes in the US?
I noticed sparks coming off your blade. I wonder if the surface fractures are from too much pressure when cutting - my foreman always told me let the saw do the work.. Very cool to watch 🙂
If you enjoyed this video, help support it by liking, commenting, and sharing it with your agate loving friends ❤️
Please sell the Botswana that had the fracture🙏🏻 even tho it cracked a bit, it’s still beautiful in my eyes.

That is such an awesome story John! I love it!! Thanks for sharing!
It continues to amaze me how some people can look at rocks and say *this* one will be beautiful inside.
It's not hard, when you've been studying geology for most of your life, like I have. Mineral nodules usually have agates inside. You just have to know how to pick the right places to find them.
Well, it's true! It may look like just a dull rock, on the outside, but there could be some REALLY BEAUTIFUL stuff, on the inside.

Thank you so much for sharing all these with us. I LOVE rocks, and watching your videos is very satisfying and entertaining.
Oh wow! The morroco agates were my favorite! Thanks again for an amazing cutting session.
YEAH! ME TOO...
Love these videos so much. It just makes me so happy every time you open them up. Agates! They are so amazing. Thank you! Cheers from England
Your joy and Enthusiasm always makes me think of the grandbabys at Christmas!
I am a nurse and when i see the cut rocks, they always remind me of a body part. That blurry mozambique looks like an Xray of a kidney. LOL!
That's awesome
well, i saw two little danggly things, nurse.
Too funny.
I'm a nurse, too and i see wh a t you meant. It does look like a kidney with the ureter.
I’ve seen a lot in other videos that look like different imaging types of the brain
The one you showed @4:30 just amazing. 6:07 beat looks like a candle flame.. 7:08 looks like cream filled bonbon, 9:24 almost smokey amethyst on the large outer area.

@user-kn5vn7oy8q, "scepters".
Awe, I was sooooooo sad to see this one end!! 🥺
Loved every moment, Agate Dad, thanks for sharing this with us!!
You're a blessing!! 💝
Boswana agates are so sic the contrast and depth are phenomenal only thing is that they always seem to have fractures... still got to love them!
Do people send you their found agates or do you purchase them raw to cut and polish? These are beautiful! I love the, “God’s fingerprint” way of describing them. Couldn’t agree more!

What a surprise! That pinkish Mozambique agate with the tinge of amethyst and the drip magical!!!! What a treasure. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
The rich colors of each area of country are beautifully culminating in these gorgeous stones. Moroccan stones are my favorite.
The heart shaped(after cut) @ 15.15 is AMAZING! Def a fave!
Awesome cutting session! Some real beauties!
Definitely add happiness and joy! The depth of some of these is amazing!
I use Botswana Agates making a lot of my jewelry! Have always loved them! The beauty of nature never fails to amaze me.
70yr old prospector here
Thanks alot Dude now I gotta buy some of those African agates to add to my personal collection 😅 THERE'S TREASURES OUT THERE TO BE FOUND ! ROCK ON
P.S. love the video
I get a kick at how you giggle when you accidentally get a tiny sneak peek! Hope you continue to love what you are doing for yourself and for us!
I definitely enjoy all your videos. Not only are the agates stunning, but your joy and enthusiasm is contagious 😍I’m always looking forward to new videos from you.
I just love your laugh! Warms my heart 💓
Go to the zim in the Limpopo river near musina in winter when the river is dry
Loved it. Time to watch it from the start. I missed the beginning.
15:14 The way I would make two slices of those and try to wire wrap a butterfly with the slices as the wings. That agate is BEAUTIFUL.
13:31 That one looks like a heart from the outside but two icy kidneys once you cut it. So many of those agates are truly stunning!
Wow, thank you!
I'm enjoying your videos so much. I'm totally amazed at how beautiful some of these are inside. Looking forward to seeing some of them polished.
That first Botswana is GORGEOUS! It would make gorgeous cabs! I can see a necklace, earrings and a bracelet or ring made with that one!
Holy Smokes! Those Morocco agates! Definitely can't pick a favorite cut on this one! Soooo much beauty! 😊 Rock on! ❤
Amazing agates, so much variation, so many colours, the one with the bright green moss at the bottom, the platelets...the snow scene, so many were strongly 3D too. Loved seeing each and every one!

I just stumbled on your channel. These videos are fantastic. Very interesting and your enthusiasm is infectious!
The second one of the Malawi reminds me of BC Ocean Picture stone. It's like a chain of islands. Beautiful!
I’m definitely becoming more and more of an agate fan, I love the uniqueness of each one. I’m sure that you will do a follow up to show them at their full potential. You have an up and coming artist in the family too cute little drawings.👨🏻🎨❤

Wow they are all so beautiful, even the so-called duds!
I think The ones from Morocco were my faves, the ones with the golden yellow are mind blowing 🤯
Agates are magic stones. Each one an individual surprise❤ thank you. Once I saw Madagascar agates cut, their color was amazing.
Loved this one. Keep it up. i always enjoy watching you cut and polish.

Your joy when cutting agates is infectious. It's relaxing to watch your videos. What got you started?
So many lovely ones. Loved the Moroccan ones.
Man they were awesome!! Loved the one with the green and yellow moss at the bottom was stunning
I find your videos so relaxing, I love it
Would you be able to cut the perimeter of the agates before cutting through totally…possibly reducing the breaking or shattering of the stones?
Thanks Taylor for the videos because they do indeed bring me joy! I think my favourites today were the Malawi agates, they were such weird looking nodules (or whatever they are called) but boy did they pack a punch on the inside! ❤
Your videos are, indeed, a joy. Thankyou.
Glad you like them!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing 😊
Great enjoyment it been to long since I watch your program!!!

Love the Earthy galaxies that those rocks gave us! Tyvm for sharing ❤
❤❤❤Благодарю вас за видео ! Очень красивые агаты !
My favorite one is the 1 it. It kind of looks like a inverted butterfly with the green moss on the bottom, the greenish orange moss on the bottom. I love that one so much.
Pretty good score all up, very nice, my favorite is the butterfly type one with the green, gold etc. down the bottom.
Wow! I get as excited as you do looking at the insides of these beauties!
I just re-found your videos after apparently being unsubscribed by youtube. It's great to see your videos again!!
Welcome back!!
You are being watched.....by us😂. Greetings from South-Africa.
WOW!!! They look really awesome!!! So many with stripes!!! Great!!!
2:08 looks like earth being viewed from space. pretty dope!
I love the green at the bottom ❤
🐞Why do you rock the agate back and forth when you’re cutting. Thanks. 🐞

Love agates. It's also worth it to just hear you .laugh n enjoy them like I do 😁😁😁😁❤️
Wow !! Each stone is special.... soo beautiful on the inside!!
Loved watching the process.
BTW, do you mark each stone that you are going to cut, say with a line... from where you start cutting it, so that the two halves of the stone can later be matched exactly ?
Thanks for sharing.
So the first Botswana you cut brought out the Trekkie in me. Reminds me of the character Qwark's ears from Star Trek Deep Space 9!
I usually color while I'm watching these videos but this one had all my attention. So many intriguing reveals! Our Earth is amazing ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the quartz inside as well, its usually really pretty and reminds me of brilliant star shines
What are you doing with the stones after cutting?
They were awesome !!! Thank you for sharing !!!😁👍💕
Thanks for watching!
Almost Aurora Borealis that last one . Beautiful!!
What do you do with the agents after cuting?
I love watching your videos and appreciate your enthusiasm! I just received a lapidary saw as a gift. Where can I buy uncut agates or geodes in the US?
Love your videos
The 1st Bot was my favorite!
I noticed sparks coming off your blade. I wonder if the surface fractures are from too much pressure when cutting - my foreman always told me let the saw do the work.. Very cool to watch 🙂
Where do you get african agates
