@agatedad Where did you get that saw it is the perfect size for the stones I find in my area
I just can’t resist. Bought a second one!
Music please? So dope Halloween music.
Also the agates 🤌🏻💋!
😅😅
The black crystals are goethite 😀
I googled it and they look exactly like that! Thanks for the tip!!
I love your silliness, and I'll bet that you are a fun dad! Those are some killer agates! The red one is mindblowing, but I don't see it on Etsy. Someone must have snapped it up quick, and rightfully so! But then, maybe you decided to keep it. I sure wouldn't have let it go!
Its hard to pick a favourite because each one is so unique highlighting something special and different about each one.
The colour variety is incredible. My favourite was the blue 'tidepool' one. They are all so beautiful though.
Bought the calcite geode agate for my best friend's birthday
That’s so nice of you and thank you!!
Thanks Taylor 🧡👻 Suitably spooky music, creepy Mr Bones and AWESOME AGATES 💙 Happy Halloween from Australia 🇦🇺 🎃🎃🎃
Same to you!
I love watching these rock cutting and polishing videos, my grandkids and I all said “wow!” at the same time! I don’t know why I get such a rush from agates, but I do, goosebumps and all. I love being a rock nerd. ❤
Same here, so fun!
You not alone, it's a calming and exciting experience at same time. 😊
I can identify with that!
Memories your grandchildren will remember forever ❤.
Same ❤
Wow! Outstanding agates! That one with the pinkish crystals and tourmaline is AMAZING! I would definitely keep that one too! As always, beautiful job polishing them! 😊
Thanks so much!
Yeah that last one is my favorite one!
Besides your amazing content what I also love about you is your great personality! Keep it up man and thank you for sharing these beautiful discoveries with us!
Thanks so much!
The last cut looks like 2 hearts💞
I know very little about minerals, BUT I like jewelry with unique gemstones, so when I saw this black in rose quartz I wanted to shout "It's black tourmaline!" Tourmaline quartz looks beatiful in silver.
Ufff la última ágata me enamoró,son todas preciosas, gracias por enseñarlas.
Jjjjjjj is funny, there are two, that think a Happy face AND at angry face very ver beatifulllllllllll. Sorry for my english
It’s official. I think the Malawi agates are my favorite!
Taşların sakladığı sırları bize açıyorsunuz. Gerçekten büyük bir iş başarıyorsunuz.
Thanks!
A lot of great finishes, but a lot of work. Thanks for sharing😊
Thanks for watching!
I wanna see macros of the red and white one with the band of crystals
Those are Stunning!!!!!! Had to edit this, The Red one😳, is Unbelievable!!!! Holy Moly!!!!🪬🩷💎🪨💎🩷🪬
Thanks Josh for sharing these beautiful babies! And thanks to Taylor for the revelation!
Спасибо, Тейлор! Агаты , Вау , вау , вау ! О !Мой Бог ! Удачи тебе и хороших камней , много - много !
8:58 is one of my favorites. That splash of white crystals on the one half is extra beautiful. The one you didn’t cut turned out just as beautiful 🤩 as I expected 😍. It would make a gorgeous jewelry piece if polished on both sides, and even more so if polished all over, then gold (or silver) wire wrapped in a way that allows you to turn/spin the agate in the wire. The crystals one at 12:48 is astonishingly WOW 🤩 beautiful ❤. They are all pretty in their own way; however, those macro lenses shots at the end are extremely beautiful. Some even look like they have been sprinkled with very fine dust. So pretty 😍. I have several favorites in this batch. I wish there was some way to do this that isn’t so tough on your hands. I’m afraid they may punish you badly when you’re much older. I will pray 🙏 for your hands and back. I watched this video when it released on Facebook and it was just as astonishing to watch this time too. I would love to partner with you in tuning some of your pieces into jewelry. They are too pricey for me to just buy the stones myself. I wonder what kinds of “rocks” are here in Alabama 🤔.
Wow! Um I'm going to need to get some of those! Stay safe Taylor. There's some creepy stuff goin on in your shop man.
Fun times my man 😂
Oh boy is that red, orange yellow, white banded agate is a STUNNER! As well as that last one with the dark rose and black tourmaline crystals? Holey Moley, did you hit the jackpot! GORGEOUS!
Could that black Cristal be obsidiana? Very beautiful Agata, was a nice and funny session. Waiting for the polishing. Will be great, Enjoy it from EU
I actually think it’s goethite, someone mentioned it and it’s spot on
@@AgateDad- the pink crystals look like rose quartz! That would look awesome with a gold plated back as a necklace… or possibly wire wrapped!
Love to see Mr Bones, the music and the mask 😅 Very funny AD! The orange one is my fav... a lot of cool ones in that batch! Thanks for a great video 👏
I’m glad you enjoyed :)
Love your videos so much. Agates will always be my favorite gemstone!
I have found a couple of tiny agates on a beach nearby. Very tiny..
Wow I love the one you showed at 4 minutes 45 seconds in the video because to me it looks like candy corn. Wow nature has a sence of humor and beauty 😂😮
😮 ( AMAZING ) 😲.
I'm at a loss for words. ❤ I love all the ones you cut. Thumbs up 👍🎉😊. The one that had the reddish flame looked like a couple of horses 🐎. You're little geods again amazing. Thumbs-up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Some gorgeous stones. A few stunners. I'm imagining macro photos on my wall!!
The blue black agate would be gorgeous earrings!
WOW!!!!!You really had some bangers in that batch!!!!! 😍😍😍😍
GORGEOUS, as usual! Love your vids!
Black crystal inside of geode is GOETHITE not Tourmaline
Someone else already mentioned that and I agree! Spot on match! I’ve never heard of that with geode agates, so phenomenal!
I have a lot of similar sized agates I want to cut. Im using a tile saw which isnt ideal. Should I go for the 4/5 or the 6 trim saw?
The 6” would be a better option and more versatile, if I had a 6” saw I’d use that
Nossa!! Esse geodo.... e linda DIMAIS...parece preciosa...PARABÉNS...se não fosse caro eu mandaria pra vc tbm pedras daqui do Brasil...tenho algumas AGATAS LINDÍSSIMAS
Wow indah sekali batunya kalau di negaraku indonesia harganya pasti mahal ❤❤❤❤❤
That last cut was so lucky. If you had been a millimetre to the right.....! 😮
How do you quickly zoom in like that and still get the close up focus?
iPhone 12pro max
Love these agates so much 🤩🤩
Me too!!
This just gave me the idea to as my brother in law that the next time he goes to Africa to visit his wife to look for some of these!!
Such beauty and your polishing just makes them shine!
These, like you say, are ugly rocks. Granted, they apparently come from a region known for beautiful CUT rocks. My property is a "rock farm". 😉You know, dig up some ground and there seem to be more rocks than you started with. BUT I DO have TONS of rocks with little crevices filled with beautiful crystals. For some reason, we suspected that a rare find on the property was a geode. With a lot of work and a diamond disk, my husband sliced it, and, low and behold, it WAS a geode. Needless to say, it gets a prime spot in my collection. So, finally, how do you suggest we more accurately ID rocks in our own backyard that are worthy of slicing for discovery?
Love those! I like to make jewelry and I see those making sweet earrings!!
New to watching, I must be a idiot but I loved 95% of your garbage rocks , but even as a kid I have collected rocks, still do, and I will be 60 in six months, I guess if you like rocks, you love nature. P.S. I have a river bend in my back yard, probably added 30 feet or more to property over last 12 years, still love walking around looking for rocks
As always your agates are beautiful! I am shopping for a saw…I checked out yours and am very interested. My question is would a 10” saw be to much for a beginner? I’ve never used one. Thanks appreciate your videos ! Always great!
Really enjoy all your videos dear Agate Dad! My respects from ENGLAND!! 👍👍👍👍
Many thanks!
So, I'm totally curious on your 'story'.....what got you interested in this and how did you get started? This is like a treasure hunt with every rock and even the ones you think aren't that great are still so unique! That's what I love about rocks. They are so individual! Years ago, I told my husband to never buy me cut roses..... bring me a rock! I have quite a collection after 50 years of marriage! I love love love watching your 'show'.
Thanks so much.
Agate Dad I have always loved Rock since I was a little girl😊 but I am very new to seriously collecting them and I think in my whole 54 years I've only cut one open so basically for a beginner what would you suggest on tools to cut them open?? Because the first one I ever cut open was when I was in high school and science class
I so want to learn to do this. What equipment do you use to cut the raw stones? This fascinates me, thank you. I have subscribed today, 29th dec 2023.
How on earth do you ID these as agates or geodes before you cut them? They just look like plain old ricks to me. I plan to do more rock hunting on Superior this summer, but im paranoid I'm missing everything but the most obvious of agates.
You’re so funny! You always make me laugh! About 4 months ago I came across your videos when I was having a rough day and you turned my frown upside down☺️ and I’ve learned a lot from you as well!
I like the one you said you probably won't polish because of the pitting, these are the types I really like. If you want to sell it please let me know.
these are amazing! my family and i have been rockhounds ever since i was little. now im in my 30s and we still love rocks. we sit down and watch your videos and are just amazed. im a new subscriber, but you've inspired me to join my local gem and mineral society so i can use their equipment and practice lapidary!
I know you polish/sell/keep the studs! But what do you do with the duds?!🤔 Do you have a giant rock pile in your back yard?!😂😅
@agatedad I noticed in another one of your videos (something about the "ugly" agates) you cut almost every one parallel to the long sides. But in this video you cut a lot of these parallel to the short/fat sides of the rock. How do you decide?
It's hard to tell what you have more fun at, cutting and polishing agates or producing this RUclips content. Awesome at both!!
Yes tourmalinate bomb piece of chocolaty geode agate tourmaline goodness tight there. I've never seen anything like it. I've got 4 geode agates and they don't have tourmaline but one has a little mound of geode perfectly rounded in the bottom it's so cool looking.
I'm just here for the positivity. Thank you❤
I’m glad :)
😅😅😅😅😅 I love your humor!!!
I think the black spindles are called Rutiles , needles shooting through it are called rutilated quartz. Maybe.
Is that a little chunk of gold in that rock at 4:13? I love the rock saw setup you are using. Is it very expensive to buy that white saw setup? I think this granny just found a new hobby thanks to you.
What kind of lapidary saw do you use and or would you recommend without breaking the bank? And what are the largest stones you can cut with your saw?
The etsy shop is lagging😂 it's ao busy rn
Seriously?! I'm sorry about that!
@@AgateDad I think it was a spike in clicks because it was right after the premiere ended🤣
A sneaky spoiler is that you can tell which ones are easy cuts and, which ones are harder, based on how much the rocks waiting in the cutting tray move from the vibration of the current stone being cut.
What kind of cutting machine are you using? I would like to purchase one which can't cut my finger
The black stuff is termalen, Howard Jefferson from Jamaica 🇯🇲
I was thinking black tourmaline but... OMG!!!
Omg the fourth one with all the blue😍😍 super pretty!
Great video these babies definitely pack a pretze powerful punch.
I've always loved collecting rocks, but I have enjoyed watching you cut the agagetes😊
Glad you enjoyed!
😱😱😱😱my goodness....All those were just gorgeous 😍❤
You need to stay inside your house for at least a week, cause you just used up all your luck...
I collect rocks and wish I had a saw like that. I've never been able to cut through any of them.
Those ones with orange areas are perfect for Halloween!
Thanks for the new info. I live in Farmington. Love your videos.
Do you or can you slab the rock you cut? Especially the extra good ones you keep to polish
so glad you didn't cut right through the black crystals, that was a damn near miss!
MrBallen freaks me out too..... yet I listen to him...... beautiful cuts and polishes. Had no idea I would enjoy watching "rocks" get cut in half....... I have been binge watching your videos.... LOVE THEM.
Do you have a website store?
agatedad.etsy.com
You're pretty weird. I like this channel. 😂
Tourmaline!
lololol love it!
I love your videos! As a child, on field trips I’d always buy rocks for souvenirs. Rocks/gemstones turn into jewelry! I can’t get enough! So pretty!
Good grief, can I buy your rejects??!!
I really wish that the equipment for this hobby wasn’t so expensive…I sm keeping my eyes 👀 open hoping to spot some used machinery that might fit my budget. Thanks for showing us this process. ❤
Tourmaline in an agate??? Wow. Incredible
Sweetheart, you need to use eye protection with that hockey mask.
They are so beautiful. Love seeing them opened
Might it be possible to try and remove the crumbly shells using some acid or vinegar? I think the agate parts wouldn’t be affected by the acid…
It wouldn’t
........but why don't you wear safety goggles or glasses? I worry about the rock chips flying🤓❤😂
I usually do
So many beautiful pieces, could make some awesome jewelry with some of those. YOU do so great on the polishing 👍😎
Very cool!
☺️🙌
SO EXCITED!🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏
So many awesome gemstones! And some of them with their sparklies 🥰🥰🥰 - even gold sparklies 🥰🥰🥰
That made my heart sing! Thank you!
🌟🌟🌟
Beautifully done, Taylor 🤩
Thanks!
That last one is my absolute favorite of all of them.
I actually like all of them. They are all beautiful.
Wwoooww....... My god.... amazing & so beautiful....,👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌💝💝💝💝
Thank you so much 😀
