You need a none breathable catch can if your still running the pipe off the turbo intake as that creates a vacume to pull oil/vapours threw the breather system in to the catch can. With the filter on that catch can you are just pulling air from atmhospere into turbo intake which will also be unmeterd air after the MAF... So either change catch can to none breathable, or bung turbo intake pipe & let breather system vent to atmhosphere threw the can youve got now
Now you have 2 catch can in series...I think i will clean my catch can (original) for free :))) Instead to complicate things more..When you will replace your air filter the new catch can will disturb your work because the left pipe of new catch can is exactly over the screw...this work looks absolutely unnecessarily to me :) no offence just my opinion.
@@CarGuyLife Behind the engine in the middle. Actually is a filter. My device will never fill up with oil in original condition. I have the same engine. Now tuned to 205hp still works wonderfully.
Do you know if the 'weird little tank'' can be cleaned - after 160,000 miles, I feel that my crankcase ventilation system may benefit from a clean out. The catch tank would be a nice finishing touch just to 'polish' the fumes.

You should run a non breathable/venting catch can, as you still have it plumed to the turbo, the turbo is going to pull unmetered air in
The box as you said is actually a GM catch can that is most likely blocked same as the 2.0 cdti

Yes all oil catch cans can be emptied and cleaned and used again etc
