Just thought I would let you know that after struggling for 3 days I did pair my hear aids in just 4 minutes using your video. This video should be used at all Costco hearing aid centers. You make it so simple and your explanation is so clear that even I could follow them. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much!!! I have had these hearing aids for 3 years and nobody explained this to me. I have been having so much trouble; my audiologist should have explained it all. A perfect help for me. I still connect and disconnect to my TV phonak speaker, my car, my iPad, and my audible books. Sometimes I can't disconnect to the iPAD and cause trouble with my husband's Spanish class.

Like you said, watch all of video as it may be just one thing that is needed. Turns out this was in his case true - the pairing of the hearing aides starts with pairing with one piece. Saved long trip to audiologist.

You just became my new best friend, lol. First time Seeing you. I ordered my first pair of bluetooth hearing aids off Ebay recently, they were shipped today. It's one unit for around $29.00 (not 2 pcs). The brand name only says USA. It's no doubt a knock off product. Hopefully it will be alot better than the $8.00 pair that I have now. The battery holder breaks every few weeks. Then I would order a new pair. Now have to tape the battery door closed. My new hearing aid will be similar to these. I think this will help alot in comparison. My current one's will blow out your ear drums, don't need much volume at all! Or they "Go loud" lol, but no noise cancellation, or bluetooth. I hope these work alot better. I had a cochlear implant, but need the hearing aid (that snaps behind the ear) replaced. They don't even make my Opitcon type anymore. (Naturally). I'm trying to the get aid replaced through insurance, (ahem!). It may be possible, and has so many benefits, compared to these standard units. It's Definitely a high quality piece. Hopefully something like this will be sufficient till then. Great review, appreciate it, good to meet ya. Liked and subscribed.

Thank you for your interesting video.
After multiple tries, I get only 2 bluetooth connections that both display my first name but which correspond to my left and right Oticon Minirite. The volume control and battery level of the Oticon are well displayed and managed by the Oticon ON application on my newest Galaxy Note 20 ultra 5G smartphone of course fully updated.
The third (non-stereo) connection for streaming does not appear even after further bluetooth scan searches.
I also tried what you recommend at the end of the video: the ReSound application tells me "NOT COMPATIBLE HEARING AIDS" and adds "There's another app available for your hearing aids". It directs me to ReSound Smart which says "Your device isn't compatible with this version."
    What should I do?
    Thank you in advance.

Dr. Cliff, I recently received my first pair of hearing aids Signia Pure 2x. Here are the steps I went through to get hearing aids:
1st I went to a hearing aid doctor who sent me to an Audiologist.
2nd The audiologist did a hearing test. It was determined that I am losing hearing in both ears.
3rd I was connected with Innovative Hearing who sales and fit you with hearing aids.
Here’s the problem. I was given the Signia Pure 2x disposable battery hearing aid. I find myself researching how to do most things about my hearing aid. I went back to Innovative Hearing, but I realized they are just salesman. What should I do to get the proper and best hearing results with my hearing aids? My insurance is with WellCare. I live in Houston, Texas.

3 days later and still trying to pair my Costco ks10 hearing aids to my Samsung phone. Took them back to the hearing aid center at Costco but could only get help from the receptionist. She managed to get them working, sort of and 20 minutes after I left they stopped working again with my phone. So I sit here watching this video hoping to fix them myself. Service at Costco hearing aid centers stinks. If you need help from the audiologist it takes a month to get in to see her. Sometimes cheap isn't the best deal if you can't get the service when you need it.

I had a problem with background noise appearing when I streamed something with Bluetooth. Surprisingly even Phonak support couldn't tell what was wrong. I have Phonak Audéo P hearing aids. Eventually I figured out a solution myself. In the myPhonak app on my phone I can turn down the volume of the hearing aids to the bottom and compensate by turning up the volume on my phone. That completely solved the problem. Note that the settings for streaming with bluetooth only appear when bluetooth is active. Took me a while to figure that out.

For Phonak Audeo Paradise, once connected to Android phone for calling, can I just use the Phonak HAs for listening alone and talking to the phone's mic? I understand that the HAs' built-in mics ain't good at picking up speaker's voice, so I would love to see if that's possible at all to just routing the caller's voice on the other end of the line to my HAs but then sending my voice via phone's mic. Addition info that took me a while to figure out. On my Phonak Marval: I have two Apple devices, I have paired to each. To switch between them, disconnect the one you don't want to use (Settings, Bluetooth, R-Phonak, Connect (i) and tap Disconnect). Go to the device you want to use, (Settings, Bluetooth, R-Phonak and tap Not Connected). HA will then connect to the device. Trying to connect your HA to a device while it is already connected to another device gives an error message that does not give you enough information to figure out what to do next.

Correct, you cannot have Bluetooth ON on both devices at the same time.

Doctor Cliff, AuD thanks for the reply. But that sucks. In the iPhone.... Hearing Devices.... there’s a button, “Audio Handoff”, says “Take the hearing device connection from nearby iOS devices when audio starts”. Do you know what that does? Thank you for all the great videos. I’m new to hearing aids and have really helped me a lot.

Do you have any recommendations for someone with hearing loss in one ear?
I have 85% hearing loss in my right. I tried hearing aids several years ago, but it didn’t help me?
I’m hoping that some new technology can help me. Thank you, Ed Steverson

Hi Ed. Depending on what you mean by 85%, either a hearing aid, CROS/BiCROS, Bone Conduction device, or Cochlear Implant are among your possible treatment options.

Thank you for replying back. Can you recommend a good bone conducting hearing aid? I’m a 69 year old retired on a fixed income, so money is tight. Thank you so much.

@@Estever1 the BAHA, Ponto, Bonebridge, or Adhear systems. Insurance may cover, but none are cheap.

I have a Moto G7 Power phone. I have Kirkland Premium 9.0 hearing aids.
    1) Sometimes a phone call can be heard in the hearing aids and sometimes not. When I don't hear the call in my hearing aids the call is then coming through my phone. This problem has happened in various locations but each case has happened while sitting in my house.
    2) When the call is received in the hearing aids I can hear just fine but the caller tells me they hear a lot of crackling noise.
What can be the solution to these problems? Is this a Bluetooth connectivity problem?

    • @DrCliffAuD
      @DrCliffAuD  4 года назад

Not sure what the first issue is. The second issue sounds like a typical problem with those types of devices that pick up your voice from the hearing aid itself.

I have a phonak model that requires a compilot receiver/transmitter to be worn around the neck. Is there any way to do away with the compilot and still access my android

Yes, you need to upgrade to the Marvel or Paradise Phonak line of Hearing Aids.

Hi there! I'm about to apply to grad school and get my AuD. I'm nervous I wont get a job when I graduate. Are there plenty of jobs awaiting those who graduate with their AuD? (My mom made me nervous when she looked online and saw that getting jobs were hard and scarce)

There will likely be plenty of jobs. However, the class that graduates this year may find getting a job difficult due to the COVID Pandemic.
